I have read a couple of his books and really enjoyed them as he is such a good writer. I am trying to read the books I got from the library so I can take them back and have space in the bedroom.

Youngest tutted at how untidy my bedroom was and the pair of us got it tidied. hoovered, polished in about an hour. Months of using it as a dumping ground had turned it into a tip.

Monna me & my 2 older brothers were subject to the school dentist (who was also the only one in our locality) and had all of our number 6 teeth out...it always confuses a new dentist or a trainee on placement when do the count & roll call!

  • Not keen on dentists myself, my mother saw no need to provide toothbrush or paste when I was growing up. I had a couple of horrific experiences as a child and another one a couple of years ago. The roots of my teeth are embedded in my jaw bone so it was a hammer and chisel job, I'm fairly stoically, produced babies with not pain relief etc but that was a bit much even for me.
It hurt twice as it cost £195, I'd been quoted £75 so had a row in the waiting room after the procedure.

Feel for all of you subjected to school dentists - i had awful experience too and when I was 9 I had an accident at school and smashed one of my front teeth and split my upper lip badly! Its had repercussions for years so I regularly visit the dentist as I want to keep what's left in my head!
DH & finished putting my boat to bed for the winter. Engine winterised, cushions at home, sprayhood off and waiting for me to scrub the remains of the seagull poo off it and my spray dodgers have been taken off to use as a pattern for new ones to be made over the winter. Have decided tomorows' jobs with be to replant the window boxes at the front of the house - got some gorgeous 'frilly' cyclamen in the market on Friday and I need to give a couple of the shrubs on the front garden a good prune. I do need to hoover downstairs but that can wait as I'll do all the outside jobs while the weather is dry.

Monna - you definitely need to play conkers...... ;)

Sounds like some of our mothers were related! We were never encouraged to clean our teeth and also went to a dentist who was paid to remove them. The only thing I can remember about the dentist is that he had rotten teeth!

Today I have mostly been putting clocks back (said in the voice of Jesse from The Fast Show).
My elderly clients all struggled with the little bezels (?) and so I assisted with at least 7 clocks.
Now I just have to find time (see what I did there?) to reset the clock in my car! :rotfl:

Not talking about dentists :(. I am part way through getting a replacement for the tooth I broke in May..... need to make another appointment and plump for one or another replacements, min cost £450 :(:(::(

On the bright side, I spent a happy hour and a half yesterday painting mini scenes for greetings cards. Some of them actually look like they are supposed to!
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

    Car clocks don't change MMF007 - you just wait 6 months. :)

I do change this car, but never used to change my previous car clock... my boys would have to work out if it was right or not ;)
