I haven't spent the first week of my retirement indulging in rumpy pumpy, I have spent it swearing, cursing and generally banging ........

Ah, you lot cheer me up!
Had a really (really) busy week at work, there are some challenging children at our school (I'm sure we aren't alone) and some have caused problems this week. Anyway, at lunch time today I was helping a little girl (autistic) with her soup flask and she told me she loved me. Makes it all worthwhile.0 -

Aww that's lovely. My boy is autistic. He's at a special needs school.

Stuck is a good word. We like 'stuck'. Be warned, once you are stuck we don't let you go easily. Ask Hester. She even tries losing her own WiFi in an effort to shake us off. To no avail, we manage to track her down wherever she tries to hide
Anyway Hester, what do you mean "no rumpy pumpy." My tablet thinks that should be "dumpy pumpy". Doesn't have quite the same ring to it, does it?
I thought that was the whole point of retirement. Well not for me, obviously, but its not like you to let an opportunity slip.
Sorry mrsmh, when Hester appears the standard of conversation slips into baser levels. Youll get used to it. The rest of us are normal, boring, respectable members of society.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Hi all
Sorry I have been MIA too, but I have been busy looking after the DGC whilst their childminder swans off er goes on a cruise ! I have been reading along though when I haven't crashed out on the sofa. Never mind it's half term next week and then the childminder is back :T.
Monna thanks for saying I'm normal and respectable. I have been called some things but never that :rotfl:. I like it !
Hello to MrsMH and Pandamonium too :wave:Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
You lot are on good form today, thanks for the laughs!
NM, so glad your DS has money and is in less pain. I hope he is enjoying the rewards of gainful employment, both financial and psychological.
DH eventually rang to say he was working a few more hours than expected today while the weather was good. I finished the selected chores and used the extra free time to play at making greetings cardsWithout wishing to annoy anyone I have to confess that I painted a certain kind of tree on the front of one of the blank cards and another had some gorgeous black and gold buttons fixed on to resemble baubles (my friend loves sewing and I think she'll make good use of them). You can guess the theme
I had a lovely time
Welcome to MrsMH :hello: Pull up a chair, grab a nice hot drink and join the crew.I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.0 -
Welcome MrsMH and Pandamonium.
I have seen you on other threads Mrs MH but not for some time. I just thought you had gone a way. I concur with MMF007 for both of you.
Hester doesn't your mooring have a number for your address? Thousands of people live on boats they must have addresses.
I could do with a hand from one of you. I bought two pairs of nice trousers from the our local hospice shop. Now I have washed them they look like new, but they need 4 or 5 inches off the bottom. I need someone to pin them up for me.
I can't ask my neighbours as at the moment they are all black african refugees who do not speak a word of English.
DS was paid last month but he only got a part month and no overtime. He works overtime nearly every day so it is quite a lot nearly half his pay. His pains will settle down he only has tendonitis. He did not keep himself fit after he lost his job last year. I remember my first week on the wards as a student nurse. My feet hurt right up to my hip joints. I had worked in an office for two years before.0 -
NM, the marina doesn't allow deliveries, we had to get special dispensation when we bought a new fridge.
Even then they refused when I asked and only agreed when CHS asked.
We will be bridge hopping from the spring so that will be interesting. We may decide to get rid of the car then but we will see.Chin up, Titus out.0
