Ooh, I almost forgot, belated Hoppy Birdday, Polly. Sorry I missed it, been busy organising a Meet'n'Greet visit with a new canine guest - the idea is they bring their humans to get to know us before their actual holiday so that I can find out their daily routine, likes/dislikes and so forth, and when they actually come for their holiday, they aren't worried about being left with us because they've already met us.

Belated Happy Birthday polly
I hope you won't change your name - we need our pollyanna, especially in times like these!
Lovely scarf Florenceem
I really like the idea of a space in between two fences - it could be just the right size for a table - for afternoon tea or for drinkies! Definitely no crocodiles though Ming, don't worry.
Forgot to say that two of the staff in our local Co-op are "cycling to Paris" (on exercise bikes, in the shop) to raise money for Mind and a couple of other charities. One of then asked me if I thought anyone would mind if they only went as far as Peckham. I suggested Herne Bay. They both seemed to like that idea9 -

I turned around twice since I was here on Sunday, and there were 4 pages to read!
Good to see so many back again.
I think I'm too young at 62 for your parties!!! They sound very interesting......Thanks MRSCD. We don't do age here . Burtha was 50 a short while ago and we're all different ages but age is just a number not the person. You're 11 yrs younger than me so very welcome to join in the parties. Just keep a close eye on the Vase! and don't risk bringing any much loved pets along.pollyx
FPK, I can bring tea and cake if you want. I just found a recipe for old fashioned school cake with icing and sprinkles.
Florence, that's a really pretty scarf. What pattern is it?2025 Fashion on the ration

The Grey and Very Dull day here turned into the hottest day so far and very humid. I've been fighting the laptop. I was trying to do stuff online including the NHS digital data sharing opt out. We already opted out at the surgery years ago but that had to be renewed. that's already been done.Every time I tried to type nothing happened couldn't fill in the form , send emails etc although I kept shutting down the laptop and walking away for a while. phoned youngest in the end and she said switch the electric fan on, aim it at the laptop and leave it a while, we're having the same problem with laptops , phones etc. It;s the heat.I had a bit of a Doh moment as the fan was in my vision but it finally helped. Apart from a few minor things this laptop has been fine. I always remember the Dell issues over the years and fear the worst but the Dell did last over 10 years . At one point I considered changing my user name to Sorry Laptop Issues as I went missing so often from the forum.I hope all those who love hot weather got some and those who don't had a nice cool breeze.I'll have to plod my way through the posts. I did notice you had a wasted journey VJ. Not letting you know seems a bit rude but maybe it was just an admin slip up. I know the phones were ringing non stop at our hub and staff were really busy.Hope you manged to get some of your writing done and the grass cutting went ok.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

MingVase said:*Looking forward to a change of menu*Don't you think Crocodiles are a bit of a challenge when it comes to prep and cooking? I know you hung on Wonder Collies every word re Chainsaws, Big machinary and Guns over on the prepping thread but you aren't hidden up a hill now. You're in a nice little community now where people look out for each other and it wouldn't take long for someone to notice strange long parcels being dragged into the house and the sound of your prepping tools.Think this one is a non starter Mar.polly.
