I turned around twice since I was here on Sunday, and there were 4 pages to read!
Good to see so many back again.
I think I'm too young at 62 for your parties!!! They sound very interesting......Thanks MRSCD. We don't do age here . Burtha was 50 a short while ago and we're all different ages but age is just a number not the person. You're 11 yrs younger than me so very welcome to join in the parties. Just keep a close eye on the Vase! and don't risk bringing any much loved pets along.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Or indeed, an elephant!I tried the Fife strawberries although I have lots in the garden and they were lovely. I mentioned your conscience because I live in hope you'll remember where you put it some day.The thing with we parrots unable to fly free in our homelands is all we can do is sit in a fancy cage and watch the world go by. The high spot of the day is usually the postman waving to us as he walks up the drive.Sometimes we observe something out of the ordinary. A wee wummin trying to heave a Heffalump into a freezer or practising her cooking skills making sweeties with plants from the poison garden at Alnwick. We remember those things and think she could be very nice if she could just lose the killer instinct but poor dear is in denial so it doesn't seem the efforts to reform her worked.I'm thinking of changing my user name. I've had it a long time but it's too easy for your purposes.I've been thinking again. Why do we sit on top of the fence risking splinters or even toppling over the other side. When I was growing up my mum would chat to the neighbours over the fence or garden wall. I don't recall her sitting on top of either. She did have a little stool to stand on when we had the wall because she was under 5ft and couldn't see over the wall without it.Maybe we need a communal area between the fences. We could keep a close eye on the priceless vase then.polly who isn't a Parrot x

Like a sort of no man's land? Two fences running parallel with a crocodile infested swamp between? One life - your life - live it!10

Precious china or not it probably isn't very edible. Somewhere we can keep an eye on her was my thinking, plus no more splinters and soggy towels.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I'm pretty sure it'd be Ming eating the crocodiles, not the other way around.
Mrs CD, this unscrupulous lot will let anyone to their parties if they bring enough cake or tea or booze or a selection of hot waiters.
Polly, if you change your name make sure you keep your fancy plumage!
Mar those strawberries sound deliciousI remember when I was moving to the UK for the first time I stopped off for a week before travelling ot my parent's house. The aim was to find somewhere to live and sign a lease before I went to wait out visa processing with my parents. I had booked myself into the cheapest B&B I could find which turned out to be a good 4 mile walk from where I needed to do most days. I couldn't be bothered walking back and forth into town for an evening meal so collected a few bits from a supermarket and took them back to my room. One bit was a box of Scottish strawberries. This would have been the height of June. Oh my, they were gorgeous! I had them every single night with whatever other bits I was having that evening.
I have an extra long work day today because of an event after work. I'll do some pottering in between and maybe have a rest after lunch. I'm off tomorrow and Friday and I think it might be time to make the first batch of jam.
Hugs all.x8 -
Morning all. I'm off to do my vaccine clinic volunteer shift this morning so i hope it doesn't rain as most of the turns are outside. On Friday I got parking just as the heavens opened so i scurried under a gazebo. The rather pompous supervisor came out with an umbrella. Friday was like a school run with dozens of parents turning up with youngsters - is saying 'youngsters' a sign that you are getting old? There were more than a few, though, turning up in big flash cars with personalised number plates.
I then have to mow the lawn. I've only ever mowed it once before so that might not go well. Especially if i can't start the mower 🤣
Builder is still here but is a lot more 'putting together' than 'taking apart' now.I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
I used to pick strawberries in the school holidays, they all said oh yull get sick of them and go off them after a few days.. nooo I didn't. It was good money then, to us anyway. We grow good berries up here, they must like wet cool weather.I'm torn between being dead miffed that you lot are going to throw me to the crocs and wondering what croc steaks taste like. Hmmm. Interesting one.8
