I've read through properly and notice FPK has a good suggestion of seats along the fence sides with ledges for our drinks . That makes more sense than sitting on the top edge. I'll donate a table for the centre where the vase can sit in full view of us all.

Enjoy your vaccine volunteering VJ. We have a lovely bunch of marshals and others at our hub. Very organised but nice and chatty. The good thing about lawns is if things go a bit wrong they do recover.

Burtha's a bit quiet mind you our pharmacy has been non stop busy for nearly a year and a half.

Glad your WIFI is improved Hester the internet in this area is very hit and miss which is very frustrating. I remember you mentioning you were about to read A Song For The Dark Times. I really enjoyed it especially with Rebus's daughter back on the scene. I think Ian  Rankin writes very well about women. He reckons he's got one more Rebus to write and I'm both looking forward to and dreading that. We still have every one from over the years and will miss Rebus just as we do the Pratchetts.

It's a bit grey and cloudy here today but seems to be brightening up. I'm off to get my breakfast before the arrival of Ming the Merciless.

Mar, I've had crocodile, It is indeed fishy chicken, or possibly more like pork in texture.

So, i had better put my bonus time to good use and do some writing - i'm trying to produce a journal article or two from my thesis.

My DD1 is 40 today, how did that happen, I'm sure I'm only 50 myself!

I'm another one who'd need a stool to stand on to see over the fence!

I've had a text to say the fuel boat is passing today so I'll get him to fill the diesel tank up. 

I've probably said before, but since Steve had his stroke his thought processes are a bit garbled. A couple of weeks ago we were moored up on a Saturday, near a pub that did takeaway fish and chips. I suggested we got some, Steve's reply was "But it's Saturday" I did manage to persuade him that the world wouldn't end of we had fish on Saturday instead of Friday eventually.

Yesterday he went to Tesco for bread and eggs, when he returned he'd only bought a small loaf. When I asked him why he replied "Because we've got plenty of milk" I'm still trying to work out the connection.

I went off fences when I was about 9 years old - I was trying to talk to a friend in a neighbouring garden but was too short. Friend had some bricks in her garden and suggested passing some over for me to stand on. I was bending down to pile up the bricks when another one came over the fence - my head hasn't been the same since.
Had a break from making hats - finished a scarf.
