How are you getting along with the Crocs, MingVase? Mind you, I was under the impression Crocs were a type of shoe. Shows how little I know!If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)9

Ming, you could always use the croc skin for a pair if shoes and if it's big one you could perhaps squeeze a handbag out of it too? Waste not want not
Florence is such a consummate needlewoman I'm sure she'd be able to give you some pointers.
DS1, born 68 and DS2, 69...... we're not old Ming, we're precious.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle8 -
We are indeed very precious. I'm thinking croc skin teacosy. Or would that be too ostentatious? One does have standards to keep up7

My kids are 45, 40, 38 and 35.
Can you make me a crocodile skin corset Mar?
Shopping again today, it's the excitement of being moored near a town. We are stocking the cupboards ready for moving away from civilisation. I've bought knitting needles as I broke one and a new potato peeler, I can hardly contain my excitement. We are also planning a Chinese takeaway tonight. It's probably 18 months since we last had one.Chin up, Titus out.7 -

I hope you'll all let me stay. I'm *whispers* 38. I promise I have an old soul and won't rat Mar out for her 'creative' accessories!
Things are quiet here, another day off and just pottering. I've processed another big haul of strawberries, done a couple of loads of laundry and had a nice quiet lunch. I've also set up my sewing task for tomorrow when it is raining--attaching some bias binding do the neck and arm holes on a dress so I can finish it. Trying to decide what to do with myself this afternoon. I'm leaning toward some weeding since the weather is mostly pleasant. I haven't decided what we're having for tea tonight, cotnenders are salmon in a ginger and chili sauce with a shredded salad or lentil rissoles and salad.
The knits are gorgeous. I did teach myself to knit a few years ago (not an easy feat as a lefty who sometimes leans right handed) but I seem to knit too tight in one direction only which made it very difficult to figure out how to adjust patterns for my tension. All the things I want to knit would involve doing that so I haven't done much knitting lately. I do admire Hester's shawls but don't have much opportunity to wear such a thing.8 -
FPK why not try a bigger needle for the rows you knit too tight? Lots of people have different tension for knit and purl rows and you can get a much more even effect with two different size needles. Usually one size will do itIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!6

Maryb, that's a good idea, switching out every other row. I'll give it a try. I've also read that switching to aluminium instead of bamboo needles might help. I'll come back to it at some point, but I haven't been in the mood for difficult projects the past yera and a half. Maybe when the real world calms down a bit7
