That's lovely, @Florenceem. I bet it feels really warm and smooth. I have a hand made pottery one but haven't used it much. Thanks for the reminder to get it out again!2025 Fashion on the ration

Morning all.
Sorry to be missing yesterday. I don't know what happened there. Most of my life is a bit of a puzzle these days.
I did a big shop yesterday while I had my friend's car to carry it all home. Cupboards and freezer now stuffed but I bet I've forgotten something vital.
I'm still in bed and desperate for coffee, so I'll leave you with a thought, in case I don't get back for ages. See you soon.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I know I had matured when I realised that every situation doesn't need a reaction. Sometimes you've just got to leave people to do the lame stuff that they do.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Had DH and Dad to the opticians today. Thankfully don't need new glasses, but at least it was a look out for a change. I'm not missing going out, really. I'm quite happy to stay at home, but I wonder if I'll find it hard going back into larger groups again. I think I'm an introvert at heart.2025 Fashion on the ration

Tired after a long awaited shopping trip.
Going to do some crochet on a shawl.
Finished a scarf - 90 inches long - really soft yarn with a lovely sheen.

That's a lovely scarf Florence. You do choose beautiful colours and I'm impressed with the fringing.
MrsCD, I absolutely loved lockdown. I seem to have spent my entire life in the middle of a 3 ring circus and to be at home, on my own, with nothing that had to be done was utter bliss for me. I had friends that I could gossip with on the phone and the rest of the time to read, listen to music, potter around and not have to get dressed up.....perfect. I think a lot of things will fold because people have discovered that they really haven't missed doing them.
I have unearthed my summer clothes and packed up my winter ones today. I now have a whole heap of things that need a quick press before I try wearing them. I have far too many clothes, all from CS. But then I have my aspirational clothes that I will be able to wear when I've lost a stone or two, the clothes that I can currently get into and those that are too big but I dare not get rid of in case I lose the battle and put weight back on.

Hello all, I have been reading along but not posting, appologies.Another here who enjoyed lockdown, but I will have to steel myself and get back out there as I've had my 2 jabs so there is no excuse now. I am anxious about busy places at the best of times, unless it's in the open air, so I will probably try our local garden centre for a quiet coffee for my first time out, I can always sit outside if it's too busy. I too have really more clothes than I need, daily ones, going out, going out-out ones, then there's funeral, summer, winter and holiday ones. I should cull them but I'm afraid that I might need it at some point 😟Monna that's very brave to put your winter clothes away, if I did that we'd have 6ft of snow ! I have taken out a couple of pairs of shorts and t.shirts ready for the heatwave, I hope I haven't put the kybosh on it now.NurseMaggie I'm glad the appointment went well.Florenceem I love the scarf and blue is my favourite colour.Take care allnanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently6

Thanks for nice comments on the scarf. I just hope someone will want to buy it at the craft fair. I will push - buy Christmas presents early - avoid the crowds late in the year.
Doing a bit of cleaning followed by a sit down to crochet and then of course Mr F needs to be fed.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
