Not surprisingly, nothing has happened between me posting last night and when I woke up half an hour ago. so there is not much to say. A mug of coffee is steaming nicely beside me and I have a little while to play on line before I start the day properly.
Every one here is gearing themselves up for the bank holiday, but it won't be like other years when you could hardly move for tourists. At least, it shouldn't be if people are being sensible and careful, but when did that ever happen?
In any case, my bank holiday will be spent trying to clear a few spaces in my old friend's sitting room. He wanted me to start in another room, but in order to sit down you have to move piles of papers, so the sitting room is where I'm starting.
burtha, I can hardly tell you how much I admire you. You suffered the most cruel betrayal, but you picked yourself up and all your concern was for your children. You've not only survived, you've rebuilt a happy and successful life for your family. That takes so much courage and gritty determination that I'm amazed that you are still here to tell the tale. You deserve every bit of happiness that comes your way. Nobody's life is a bed of roses, but you have survived the worst. Well done you.

I confess - back up to 3 wips - started another shawl last night.
Had a fly by visit from 2 Dds and 2 grandies. Middle dd brought a top here that has grease stains - another job for Mother.
Lovely day here.
Blocked the finished shawl.
Have 2 repairs to do for youngest dd.
Bit of housework then some me time.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

monna , thank you
this group saved the day often , sometimes you can't say to ( real) close friends what's going on as they worry to much to actually help .
virtual ones are much easier .
Enjoy your day decluttering your friends room , good luck .
I'm sitting getting blown away in a very breezy but sunny garden . of to meet up with frogs kids later today, so that will be nice

Gave up on the pompom yarn once my fingers started hurting and crocheted some wings for Gabriel. My friend knitted a nativity set and asked if I would make the angel wings.

Morning all.
Love those angels wings MrsCD. You are clever.
I was exhausted yesterday after trying to clear up my old friend's sitting room. I have sorted things into categories, papers to be sorted, all medical stuff , all stationery stuff, all batteries, hearing aids etc.........and so it goes on. Dead plants have been disposed of, likewise fossilized flower arrangements. Febreeze fabric stuff has been sprayed liberally as everything smelt fusty At least I now have an idea of what needs doing. And that's just the sitting room!
Never mind. He was so grateful, but I am going to have to pace myself.
I'm staying at home today because all the enthusiastic washing I have done while the weather has been so good, now needs to be dealt with. So it will be me dashing away with the smoothing iron today, plus baking a few things to take to the market tomorrow.
It looks as though this may be the last sunshiny day for a while, so please make the most of it.

MrsCD - love the angel wings.
monnagran - my kind of thought for today.
Surveyor - who has cancelled twice is coming this afternoon.
Lovely day here.
Margate had a visit from scooters and motorbikes yesterday - harks back to the sixties but not the fights happening. They did park in front of the lifeboat station preventing launch if needed.
Shawl has a wingspan of 69 inches and is 33 inches to tip.
My first shawl - now I need to come up with a price for the craft fair.

Very pretty shawl, @Florenceem. I think people don't realise the time and skill that goes into hand made items, so whatever you charge, someone will grumble!
The pattern for the angel wings came from Lilium Handmade on you tube. The lady in the video is left handed and my brain couldn't turn it around in my head while trying to keep up, so as she had the instructions on the top of the screen, I wrote them down and just watched when I got stuck. She made both left and right patterns which I liked, because crochet is different on the back, so I was pleased with how they turned out.
Thanks for your nice comments. 😊2025 Fashion on the ration

Well - surveyor turned up to tell us - looks like asbestos up there. So now we have to wait for someone to come and take a sample to send off to a lab. If asbestos - very costly to remove - alternative - fit new fascia and soffits over the old.
Very hot here today.
Popped round to Salvation Army hall with some requested aprons for gifts.

Sorry about the asbestos Florence. There must be so much of it about in older buildings. It makes you wonder what we have in our newer buildings that will be proved damaging in years to come.
I didn't get here yesterday because life took over. The mini-market was not so busy yesterday, so we had time to chat and rearrange the corner where people can just sit and chat, knit and drink tea and coffee. It now looks even more cosy and inviting.
Today I'm back to the Flat of Doom. I hope to have another go at the sitting room and maybe make a start on the bedroom, where Imelda Marcos seems to have taken over., only it is all items of clothing, not just shoes. I may be some time.
