I have my second shawl blocking and started a third.
It is too hot for me - I like it cooler - Spring and Autumn temperatures.
At least when you are cold - you can layer and put on heating to warm up - in hot weather - just can't get comfortable.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

It is lovely that the weather is good for children during the holiday from school. Think we have rain forecast tomorrow though.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Morning all.
Must be quick as I'm back to the FOD this morning. I spent three hours in there yesterday and cleared about 1/16th of the bedroom. I'm going to have to speed up or nothing will be ready to show Social Services on Tuesday when they come to assess whether or not the flat is suitable for my friend's wife to come back there when her time is up in the care home.
Personally I think it is far from suitable, and my friend is too old and frail to look after her, so there would have to be a comprehensive care package in place.
Naturally they both want her to come home so I don't know what to hope for.
I just hope that I peg out before I reach that stage. It's horrible to watch.
Sorry to be so gloomy, but I spend all day being upbeat and cheerful and it gets exhausting.

monnagran - we had to get Mil's flat cleared for her to return home so I know how you feel. There was only a small walkway through everywhere when we started.
Second shawl is finished.

Monnagran, may I please use your thought for the day about clutter?
I will await your answer.
Thank you

Mrs Salad Dodger, of course you can have anything you like, feel free.
I've just crawled back and wonder how I'm ever going to get anything finished before the assessment. At least, if I can get everything off furniture and floors and into bin bags, it will look tidier than spread all over the place. Then will come the fun of trying to find someone to dispose of it all. The charity shops would be glad of the expensive and hardly worn clothes in normal times, but now.........?
I'm going to try to do a full day tomorrow and see how we go from there.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Monna I hope one day you will realise how fondly you are thought of. You've kept this old fence going when some of us have been in slug mode., just emerging from that myself. You've made us all laugh and sometimes shed a little tear. You have pretty well given your life to helping others in many ways.I think Suffolk Sues suggestion is good if someone from your church would lend a helping hand . Probably more accepable to your friend than SS or outsiders sorting stuff.I hope you're coming to terms with your loss SS. You are one of those quiet angels.polly&KxxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.10
