Florence, it's heart breaking isn't it? The whole family adores my grandson, he is so loved, but the thought of him trying to to be accepted by the outside world makes my blood run cold.
Yesterday was haircut day so I'm looking considerably tidier, at least in the head department.
Today I'm back to my old friends. Social Services are due to come and make an assessment and the husband has asked me to be there, so I'll go this morning and see that it is as tidy (at least on the surface) as I can make it.
There is a lot to do and nothing will happen until I get myself showered, dressed and force myself to face the day.
I'll love you and leave you with a........
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
100 years from now it will not matter what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank, or what my clothes looked like, but the world may be a better place because I was important in the life of a child.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Have trouble remembering how to fly.10 -
monnagran - yes the world isn't understanding when a child with any sort of complex condition throws a tantrum - stares and mutterings - when the child is just frustrated at not being able to communicate.
Lovely day here.
Another completed shawl is being blocked.
I have another shawl order - black for a goth soon to be 18 year old. I remember my middle daughter going through the stage of wearing only black.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I remember mine doing that for years. She's nearly 50 now but not much better. It's not often you see any colour.

Mine too, she used to look like something out of the Graded Grains Make Finer Flour advert. Now she is in her thirties she never wears black, but is still not especially colourful. My grandson probably has ADHD and his parents and school are keeping an eye on it for the time being. He has always been a difficult child and has run the household since he was six months old. I do so hope he will grow out of it! I nearly had a fit of the vapours yesterday when I came to renew my gas and electricity contract - it will rise from £45 to £74 per month. I obviously had a really good deal a couple of years back and thank heavens I live in a really well-insulated home. You wouldn't believe it to look at me, but I am one of the rather heat than eat brigade.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

monnagran, I love your ''thought for today''.Originally I'm from Switzerland and 3 years ago I wouldn't have understood the meaning behind this threads title. But I married an Englishman and settled in a beautiful village in the chiltern hills. Our home has a very long garden with fences of about 4 ft or so. We often chat with our neighbours over the fence and we are all good friends. Last year my husband caught covid and was very ill. He fought for his life, but had a stroke which has left him very weak on his left side. A month after this happened we had our second child - a baby boy. If it hadn't been for the kindness of our lovely neighbours, I don't think I would have coped. They have helped me in so many ways and I'm so grateful to them . We all need someone to listen, don't we10

CAHMS are very overstretched but a good GP is vital. We were forunate to have a one in a million GP who never gave up..pollyx

That must have been so hard, CatieE. Thank goodness you have such good neighbours. i hope you won't mind if I send you a virtual (HUG).11

Welcome to CatiE. I'm the one who goes missing from time to time.I've a feeling I've missed another newbie so apologies if I have.I'm so happy you managed to finallly see your beloved J. It's so good he could make it to the Island . Is he still involved with college and coping? I remember you talking of him working with plants a while back . Quite a few on the spectrum seem to enjoy gardening, it's very relaxing and mindful if seedlings don't suddenly keel over . With gardening in his genes he hopefully understands these things happen whether you're Carol Klein or an amateur.I hope your dear friend feels a lot less anxious now after your help. It reminded me of Kim and Aggie rushing in to sort things. I'm glad such a nice man was able to keep his dignity.A very belated well done to burtha . We always knew you could do it with patience, persistence and dignity and by golly you have. I'm a great believer in The Mills of God. It worked for me and it has for you. Slow and steady wins the race.As for the 3min thing. I'm beginning to wonder if she has one of those ankle bracelet things on him they put on prisoners on day release.Welcome back to your lovely Frog and well done on the curtains. I hope you're being treated kindly by your customers in the Pharmacy. Last time I picked up dds meds a lovely man who knew dds meds etc backwards and has been there for decades was back. It was quiet. He just checked everthing was correct and then we had a lovely masked, social distanced chat. He's been shielding since March last year a couple after dd was ordered to stay indoors and is anxious returning but I did my best to reassure him and he seemed a little less worried. The little brown bags haven't been in use for the last few months so I hope we've seen the last of them.I was very grateful for all the advice from you over pharmacy issues.A very long time ago we were going to dance on the table when your long battle was over. Not sure I could jump onto a table anymore. Could manage the time warp but a very effective one is I will survive, that was very popular back in the day. There was something about groups of girls on the dance floor with extended arms and pointing fingers screaming Go on now go walk out the door . Don't turn around now cos you're not welcome anymore. Very 3mw.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
