Thank you ivyleaf and pollyannaMy heart goes out to all that have autistic spectrum conditions or are parents to those who have. From my understanding, it seems that there is usually a struggle to obtain a diagnosis and then the help available isn't always what it should be. Then as the children grow into adults there seem to be so many different hurdles to jump. It shouldn't be this way. A close friend lives in the Netherlands and she has twins on the autistic spectrum. The twins displayed their differences at a very young age and when reported to the doctor - things moved very quickly. Firstly, my friend became very sad for her twins - so was given help to support her. The twins were then placed in a day school with a team of specilialists to help. This has really helped and the twins are happy now. Every child in the world should have the help they need - but that isn't the reality is it.The sun is shining brightly and making the windows look sad - they need cleaning - unfortunately

Help! I have ANTS in my kitchen. Yesterday I noticed a couple on a work surface but the only slight debris on it was a couple of black peppercorn flakes which I removed. I've tried cucumber skin and a powder deterrent but no success. I know borax works but it doesn't seem to be available in the UK any more and local suppliers seem to be out of the ant bait stations. Is there an OS way of disposing of the little blighters? I opened the larder door and they are everywhere and had even got right into a totally shut jar of honey. I'm demented because they keep crawling all over me too which is a very unpleasant feeling.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

Florenceem That's exactly what I have used but it doesn't seem to have had any affect. I think we maybe disturbed a nest when we power-washed the block paving around the back of the house last weekend. I've had ants coming through by the front door before but they were quite easy to displace. I keep telling myself it could be worse - could be living down under with all those mice!

Living_proof - The ants have to carry the powder back to the others - if you disturbed a big nest - could take a while.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

@Living_proof, I saw something on pin- terest that said vinegar, cinnamon, garlic, cloves, baking powder and others worked to get rid of ants. I understand that if they eat baking soda it expands inside them until eventually...... well you get the idea! We have had them outside and used the ant powder successfully but I wouldn't want to use it indoors.
