morning all,  
currently sitting in the campervan watching the world go by , dog snuggled beside me , frog reading ... people watching now , have promised the dog a walk will happen soon , a very slow one .  back to the reality soon , making Sunday lunch and prep for the week.ahead . 
football season is now finished for youngest ds so Sunday football free is good .

ivyleaf - no embroidery done by me - low price items and too busy building up a stock ready for July.
We went to a Church service for the first time since March 2020. Not many there and of course no singing but we were allowed to pull down our masks to have a cup of tea.

Florence it looks like Ole is fielding a team this afternoon pretty unlikely to win. With Harry Maguire unfit for this match or the Europa final and Bruno, Cavani, Pogpa and others obviously being rested it will probably be pretty boring. He has got Marcus on the bench but he's wiped out with his feeding children campaign and a book of their own for every child one.

He has  got Greenwood and Mc Tominay on the bench so some hope there if he uses them. At least he has Juan Mata on the field. I've always liked him and felt he was very underated.

Kick off time. Fingers crossed. Sir Alex will be muttering Squeaky B*m time.

ivy, frog has been back 4 ish weeks, so that's good if a bit strange lol.

Morning all.

Woke up to torrential rain hammering on the roof.  Oh well, nothing much planned for today so it doesn't make much difference.  I do hope that it cheers up next week when the children have their half-term.
My granddaughter is going with her Mum to visit a friend and then spending a couple of days with her Mum's Dad.  She was up here yesterday trying to convince DS2 that of course he could take a week off work to go with them.  DS2 was trying to explain that he couldn't just take time off whenever he wanted to.  She remained unconvinced, she's a real Daddy's girl.

I hope all your football teams came up to scratch yesterday.  Southampton put in their usual dismal performance.  My Dad must be revolving steadily in his grave.  Or would if he had one.

Florence, I went to church yesterday too.  I was doing the reading.  They save up the ones with unpronounceable names for me.  No one can trip them off the tongue with so much misplaced confidence and aplomb as me. It's my claim to fame.

I would quite like to do some cooking today, but my kitchen is full of seed boxes with various embryo plants struggling to survive.  I was fine when I had a greenhouse and the enthusiasm to tend it.  The greenhouse and enthusiasm have disappeared and the kitchen windowsills and countertops are looking suspiciously like death row.

I will leave you all to pursue your more successful projects.  I may crouch in the corner of the sofa and knit Christmas stockings.
Well, you can't start too early.

My DH's uncle once preached a sermon on Mephibosheth. He just couldn't pronounce it! Why he chose him we'll never know. It was before my time, but he was a very sincere man, from what I knew of him.

MrsCD, I used to have a chicken called  Mephibosheth.  More usually called Meffy.

I dread reading in church in case I do get a lot of Old Testament  names. One of my fellow readers used to pronounce Job to rhyme with Bob and another misread immortality  as immorality which did rather change the meaning of the text.
