Oh dear, Florenceem, I hope your Dil is ok and recovers soon. It must be really worrying for you all.
I've had lots of fresh air and exercise too. I cut the lawn then weeded my rose garden. It has nine pots with roses in, on gravel, surrounded by bricks planted with sempervivums. Gravel is brilliant for seedlings! Pity they're not ones I want.2025 Fashion on the ration

Florenceem, I hope your DiL is comfortable. She will probably be in hospital a while, but at least the infection has been spotted and is being treated, and they'll keep an extra special eye on her because of the transplants.
Productive day in the garden here, seedlings potted on, new seeds sown, some bushes given a bit of a haircut. Also some unproductive time spent lying in the sun and listening to one of my Spotify playlists. One life - your life - live it!14 -
Morning Fencers
Sorry I was not around yesterday, it was a day to forget. I won't bore you but it began with me thinking that it was Sunday and havjng a leisurely breakfast before realising that it was not and I had to be somewhere else pronto. It continued through buses not turning up, missing connections, walking through a thunderstorm, emptying a pepper pot on my scrambled eggs, pulling the front off my cutlery drawer and culminating in Gangsta Granny next door setting fire to her kitchen. I've tried telling her that there are easier ways of getting 7 or 8 hunky young men into your house, but she says
that she has not seen me having any better luck.
Anyway, that was yesterday. Today will be mopping up operations all round.
MrsCD, I have plenty of those seedlings too. Not only in gravel but in cracks in concrete. Pulling them out only seems to make the second phase bigger and stronger. This never works with the seedlings you are tenderly cherishing.

Oh Florence
I'm so sorry about your DIL. May she have a good recovery.
Roundtuit how lovely to "see" you - I remember you from aaaages ago!
Monna I hope Gangsta Granny is all right!12 -
Dil has been allowed home from hospital with antibiotics until the end of June. They probably don't want her in hospital with her low immune system after transplant.
My Son gave me some Timberlan. products - he works at a distribution centre where if a container is damaged - employees are offered goods at really low prices. I have made up some shoe cleaning kits for the craft fair.
I managed to make 5 red kits and 2 green ones.
Red bag has contents worth £25+
Green Bag has contents of £18+
I also finished another pair of wrist warmers for a friend.

Hello Fencers, long time no see as life chez nous is a bit hectic of late. I had my 2nd jab yesterday and happily there are no side effects other than a sore arm and an aching shoulder, nothing like last time when it knocked me off my feet for a week.Monna I'm not sure I'd like to live next door to either you or Ganster Granny, your antics actions might rub off and I'd end up doing someone or something serious damage. Mind you seeing several burly firemen in uniform may be worth it ? mmmmmm...🤔. Perhaps Granny was trying to do a bit of one-upmanship with you and the waiters, which I believe you still possess. Maybe we'll brush that under the rug in the same way that we never speak of Ming Vase and the elephant. Ooops ! 🤐Florence I hope your DiL has a swift recovery. Your gingham bags look just the ticket, the red one reminded me of my P.E. bag which held my daps when I was little.Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12

I love gingham Florence. It always looks fresh and clean.
Nanny, my hot waiter is very well thank you. I keep him in my wardrobe and if he starts getting restless I threaten him with GreyQueens broom cupboard that he will have to share with Henri de Vac and Nursie. It settles him down remarkably quickly and apart from a bit of distant moaning (Oh. No. Anything but that) he soon recovers.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Where is everyone - been transported by the strong winds?
Mr F braved going out to get the local paper.
Bin men came and Mr F had to chase after our recycling bag - not a pretty sight for the neighbours - he was still in his dressing gown (commando too!)

Nice bags, @Florenceem. They are very useful and would have cost you much more if you hadn't been able to get them cheaper through your son! Well done!2025 Fashion on the ration

Bin men came and Mr F had to chase after our recycling bag - not a pretty sight for the neighbours - he was still in his dressing gown (commando too!)I'm considering divers boots Florence as a skinny minnie I'm in danger of bering blown to Oz.No idea when I last posted but dd hasn't been well and neither have I .Usual arthritis , fibro etc but she's added blinding migraines and my sciatica has flared. Tried a small shop today and even with a list forgot half the things I needed.I'll be glad to see the last Premier League match over at the weekend and the Europa final next week. I may lie down in a darkened room then to recover. Much as I adore Ole it has been a roller coaster and I feel as though I've kicked every ball this strange season. it was good to see some fans back but they looked too close together and many weren't masked. I'm not sure these test events are a good idea especially as the Manchester region have the Indian varient in high numbers.Monna dear with a hot waiter is it a good idea to be mentioning threats of sending him or the Vac to GQs to join Henri du Vac and possibly Nursie? The thought of Nursie unleashed is more than anyone should contemplate in the current circumstances.I'm trying to recover from the image of Bojo in a boiler suit with a badge and Prime Minister stitched beneath, Pritti Patel had a similar jacket. Have all the nannies resigned? It reminds me of sewing endless name tapes into the children's school wear. Luckily they know who they are since growing up.Nursie versus The Ming . I'd prefer the latter. despite the alter egos she's quite predictable and not as clever as she thinks.I have to view youngest face to face ( at a distance) tomorrow. She seems to have been heavy on the various prescribed painkillers and that may be making things worse.I'm about to drag myself to bed and hope for sleep. The weather has been dreadful. I'm sure we'd all feel better with some sun and less wind.Take care all.pollyxETA A husband going commando Florence and Monna with a hot waiter. This thread has gone rather Norty in my absence.
