Monna - your TFTD reminds me of just after I had DS when DD was a toddler. My aim for each day was to have us all up, dressed and fed and if i did one more thing it was a bonus. That one thing might be putting washing in, not even getting it out again!
Morning all - i'm happily reading along but keep omitting to post. Ne'er mind, t'is only drivel anyway.
Off out for a walk in the park with a friend today and we're buying coffee rather than taking a flask. SOmehow feels very decadent! Hopefully the opening up next week should make things seem a bit more normal.I wanna be in the room where it happens10 -

These are the socks, @monnagran. The pattern isn't really Fair Isle but it has bits that remind if it iyswim. It's West Yorkshire Spinners Winwick Mum Christmas yarn. I have a lovely sparkly dark blue to use next. I remember years ago you used to be able to buy huge balls of yarn that knitted up to look like Fair Isle, but I haven't seen them for a while.2025 Fashion on the ration

MrsCD - I haven't attempted socks - yours look lovely.
monnagran - I have ordered some yarn that is self striping/Fair Isle type to crochet a shawl. I have never attempted a shawl apart from a easy stitch baby one back in 1979! I plan to make a shawl for myself - be nice to wear something that I have made. Years ago I knitted myself finger less gloves but usually makes are not for me.
This is the yarn I have ordered -

Mrs CD . I knitted DD pair of socks in the WYS yarn in shades of heather , grey and purple. Unfortunately the shop where I got it has closed . We do have a wool shop locally but it tends to sell more acrylic yarns and doesn't stock the WYS.10

Mrs CD That yarn is amazing! Beautiful socks!
Florenceem I love the yarn you've ordered. Enjoy making your shawl
Burtha I hope you've had a good day with lots of pleasant customers.

@annieb64, I had to go about 10 miles to the woolshop where I bought mine! Nothing any nearer. Thanks for all the nice comments. I'm still a sock knitting novice.
@Florenceem, your yarn is really pretty. Can't wait to see how it knits up.2025 Fashion on the ration

Thanks for the info about the yarn. I only seem to knit for church sales and things, but I'm a little tired of Christmas Stockings if the truth be told. I did have a spell a few years ago of knitting cable cushion covers, perhaps I'll take that up again. I still have some 'fluffy' yarn that was fashionable a few years ago for scarves. I must use some of that up. I don't like to have to concentrate on it too much. I can't just sit and watch TV, so some fairly mindless knitting fills the bill beautifully.
I'm in the middle of a cooking fest. It is my fence painters birthday at the weekend and he has requested 'things to eat' as a present.
Accordingly, I'm making chicken and ham pie, sausage rolls, fruit cake and flapjack.
I am also waiting for the window cleaner who tells me he will come today if it's not raining, which it's not at the moment although it looks as if it could at any moment.
burtha, your life seems as tumultuous as usual. I don't know how you stand the pace.

hi , yup it is at times still
the meeting lasted till 9 30 last night , was definitely in the style of dibley , then came home to run for 2 mile .
Today's customers have been lovely (not)think I'm getting more inpatient with rude people . , it just makes me tired .
mustering up the engery to go grab food shopping , came in a quickly made some bread dough so the kids can make pizza when they return ( always starving) then tea later on ..
must buy something to shove in the oven so I can run .
then I can crash on the sofa .
envious of of knitting stuff , looks lovely but I have no coordination ,so would end up in a big mess
