Bit late today, but still officially morning.
Just weathered a church service. They still feel weird as we are still not allowed to sing and have to stay masked. I have discovered in the couple of services I have taken during the pandemic, how strange it is to be faced with a sea of eyes. You can't tell whether people are smiling, looking interested or scowling in fury. I hadn't realised how much we read people's faces when we talk to them.
It's quite nice out there this morning. The forecast was gloomy, but the sun is struggling to shine at the moment and it's pleasantly warm.
I'm planning a relaxing afternoon with a book and some music.
Lovely aprons Florence. I have two favourites, one with bright coloured diamonds and a green one covered in sheep. I use to have a big green umbrella covered in sheep as we'll, but that has disappeared during one of my moves.
THOUGHT FOR SUNDAY
It is better to sit in a boat thinking about God than to sit in a church thinking about fishing.I believe that friends are quiet angels

MrsCD - the chair was a Birthday present from Mr F. I love it too.
monnagran - love today's thought. Talk last week on SA local site was a fishing one - I remember that passage so well. Daughter was using it at an interview for a Church school - I drew and cut out 153 fish.
We haven't been to a service since March 2020 - survived with online. Boris may be giving a briefing on Monday - wonder if Church will get a mention.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Morning whoever pops up on this thread.
Today I was planning to go through the house like a dose of salts. I plan this every Monday morning. I don't know what happens.
At least I know what has happened today. my friend has rung to say that she is going to the big supermarket and if I fancy going along..............
Actually I really need to do some serious shopping. I had run my stocks right down before I moved because all my stuff was going into storage. It was the end of 2019 and there was a lot of alarmist talk about Brexit and how shops would be empty. Some very kind friends who knew how worried I was, gave me a T*sc* voucher so that once I had moved I could stock up. I did this with a vengeance, and just as well because we were almost immediately in Lockdown. I have been living off that huge stock-up ever since, but am now running out of staples like flour, sugar, chocolate and oats.
Thank goodness I have only myself to cater for. Well, if you don't count friends who don't like cooking, people who like something home-baked for birthdays, vicars who are intent on feeding the hungry and itinerant bachelors who will do any amount of odd jobs in return for a meal.

Morning Monna and other fencers! Monna, I reckon you end up doing far more baking than you want to. Don't go wearing yourself out! x10

monnagran - I can relate to that Monday morning plan.
Met a friend today who thanked me for the Christmas present - had to think - what it was!
Been out for exercise so now I will be working on my current crochet project.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Eeek! I am late today. Been fiddling around doing all sorts of stuff that has been awaiting my attention for far too long, and suddenly realised what the time is.
Aw Ivy, you know that I love to cook. Actually, if I'm honest I'm not sure that I do love to cook. What I really love is people's appreciation when I cook for them.
I hardly ever bother to cook for myself and would happily live on toast and sandwiches. So I don't deserve any accolades.

Busy day today. DIY shop and chemist this morning then yarn shop and an outdoor visit to see friends we haven't met up with for months this afternoon. Back home and up to see Dad for an hour or so, then after dinner I pulled out some pompom yarn that had knitted up badly and started to re knit on long circular needles. So far, so good....
I finished the socks made with WYS Christmas yarn, so I took them to let the lady in the wool shop see how it looks like Fair Isle, once it's knitted up. She took a photo for their blog or something! Fame at last. 😉2025 Fashion on the ration

Morning fencers.
Quick visit as I am off to help with Rev Ali's farm shop and mini market. I have 2 things to take today. One choccy thing that's vegan, gluten free and very very healthy. The other thing is a batch of my chocolate brownies, very, very unhealthy and absolutely delicious.
MrsCD tell me more about this yarn that looks like fairisle. I had some years ago and it was brilliant, but haven't used anything like it for ages. As Ali has already put her requests in and I'm already knitting Christmas stockings so am on the look out for anything else that might sell well.
Well I'd better get going.
