burtha, I had the same experience a couple of nights ago. No fun is it,trekking round your garden in the freezing cold and a howling gale, trying to find out what is banging. If it's any consolation, I couldn't find out what it was either. I've heard it again since, but have learned my lesson so now I just put my head under the duvet and go back to sleep.
Nothing much to be done today. Well plenty that COULD be done, but nothing urgent, so Mrs Procrastinator looks forward to a day of reading and knitting.
Apparently the weather is supposed to cheer up next week, not that it will make a lot of difference down here. We must have had at least 100th of an inch of snow which lasted a couple of hours before it blew away.

Morning everyone.
Dull here, but at least it is dry. I have made a decision to go out for a walk everyday. If you don't know me that won't come as any great surprise. All those who do know me will, by this point, be rolling around, handkerchiefs stuffed into mouths and tears pouring down cheeks.
Now, I don't mind walking if I am walking TO something - The bus stop, the shop, a friend's house, that sort of thing. Well, I do mind, but I'll do it. But walking just for the sake of putting one foot in front of the other has never appealed. I can think of more pleasant ways to spend my time.
However, my coming-up-to 92 year old neighbour, (Gangsta Granny) berates me daily. She thinks nothing of striding out for a couple of miles for her daily exercise. I don't know how she hasn't been blown away. She is knee high to the proverbial grasshopper and weighs 6 stones.
I will creep out secretly so that she doesn't see me. Can't let her think she has won. I'd never hear the end of it.
I'll take it easy, in stages.
To the end of the road and back today and we'll work up from there.
Actually, I live on the corner and the end of the road is only about 6 strides away. Perhaps I'd better try the end of the next road. We'll see.
You there burtha?
THOUGHT FOR SUNDAY
Wash your face with cold water. Wash away the day. Lie in the dark. Close your eyes and just talk. Cry, let every emotion out. He will listen and hold you. Because in the end it's just between you and God.

morning fencers.
They tell me that it is warmer this morning. I think it is certainly less cold, but I'm not sure that there are many degrees of warmth. I did manage a very short stroll yesterday. Muffled up to the eyeballs and wearing a false moustache that poked out of my mask in case Gangsta spotted me. Will that do for the week do you think? Or am I going to have to
go through the same ordeal again?
burtha! You do this sort of thing for fun? Crazy!
This morning I had every intention of leaping out of bed and giving the house a good tidy through. Well everything that is tidiable, that is. The ROD is not to be entered by anyone of a nervous disposition.
And I still might do that thing. Eventually.

Morning fencers.
Well! Whadiuno? I actually tidied yesterday. Just 2 rooms, but in my defense I also did things with a duster. Am so overcome with my own virtue that I may take it easy today.
It's bin day. This means that until my bin is emptied I have to hover near the front windows to make sure that my bin has not blown over and all my recycling is not dancing along roads and coming to rest in hedges and other people's gardens. Being on a corner and not very far from the sea, my poor bin gets the wind from all four directions.
