Unfortunately I do not have any flannelette so will make the most of the fleece bedding as it is cosy and should wash and dry quickly. So far I only have one set but will keep a lookout for any good offers for another one. I was on the bus from York yesterday which goes over the bridge and the river was very high so hope there is not another flood. I feel selfish saying this but as I moved to the other side of town I am in less danger of being affected and can get to small shops and the chemist etc."This site is addictive!"

Thanks Polly, the bungalow would need a lot of work done on it and I'm not sure if they would reduce their price enough to enable me to do what's needed to be done.
It is in the right location, but that's about it.
We will have to see. I'm not rushing in to anything. If I have to rent for a while, so be it.
This weather is changeable to say the least. 3 minutes ago it was as dark as night and the hail was hammering down. Now the sun is shining brightly, I see blue sky and I've turned the lights off again.
burtha, please keep us in the picture. I feel we have done this journey with you and it's nice to know what we should be hoping and praying for, for you.
I am so relieved that you got out of that cold, comfortless house with its unhappy memories. It is good to hear you being so positive and looking forward to the future.
As I heard someone say recently, there is nothing more powerful than a made up mind. You seem to have made up your mind that a happy future is within your grasp. I'm sure you are all going to make it.I believe that friends are quiet angels

The trouble with flannelette bedding is that if you're also wearing flannelette pjs, the pjs stay where they are every time you want to turn over in bed
Last summer I went to stay with my sister-in-law, and the bedding on her spare bed was sooo pretty....but it was polyester satin and unbelievably hot and sweaty to sleep in :eek:0 -

Love ,light and happy vibes to you and yours Mar xx
elona Look I finally got the lower case e right! it took me ages to get used to the uppercase after you had log in problems and it's taken a while to go back to your original user name .
Well Tadcaster got flooding again and parts of York . No idea if dd1s store in York flooded again . Coney St isn't the best site to avoid flooding .
Bad weather seems to follow anywhere she's based . She used to be heading from Milton up north through landslips and would phone me to keep her occupied on the journey ( in car hands free phone )
I may sometimes sing a chorus of weather with you
I don't think you're selfish living over the other side now. The length of time it took to get the bridge back added a lot of time to your journeys and was exhausting . Just like your bungalow it makes sense to minimise distance and effort . I must say I'm often tempted by quick drying bedding , cotton especially flannelette takes ages , not so bad on sunny, blustery days but not so good in a spell of wet and dreary .
monna You're probably wise taking a break from the home search . As you say you can rent for a while . It will mean added costs plus moving twice but perhaps something will appear that is right once you relax and be the perfect fit .
burtha I know you're keeping in touch with the council but be aware with a functional private rental they'll see you as suitably housed and down on the priority list . Each time you contact them stress the rent is pushing you financially and you've had to borrow to put a temporary decent roof over your children's heads .
I've lost my bold ivyleaf, no idea why. I shall monitor the flannelette bedding and pyjamas combo tonight . Don't think I've ever noticed a problem although I somehow manage to lose the winter bed socks in the bed over night . Hope all is well with you and yours .
I bought the Floravital in the chemists on Friday so early days . Although the kelp suited me and made a difference for some time the recent trying the kelp again hasn't made a difference . I am glad it has helped many on the threads but not me this time .
Weather is quieter , hail and wind came back a few hours ago . I put the milk bottles out and it's just damp out there now .
Sleep tight all

I'm getting Floravital when I'm out on Wed, getting desperate for some energy. The kelp worked for me a couple of times but stopped after a few weeks. And if you're getting any bloods done for thyroid then kelp can mess that up.0

The Floravital was recommended by our practice nurse for me . Youngest is doing really well getting a lot of her iron, vitamins and minerals from her food . I'm still struggling at times with lack of appetite so I'm hoping this will help bring back the appetite and energy . Sleep is still hit and miss so I need to get a grip . I've been sitting in the armchair trying to get motivated to head to bed .
After a good start with the Kelp I had loads of energy and motivation but sadly it stopped working . This recent trial made no difference at all . They remind me of horse tablets and are so big so I'm going the liquid route this time . I've passed the kelp on to a friend as she's been wondering whether to try them . They aren't cheap and I've got most of a bottle left so if they help her it wont be a waste.
One day Mar we may be full of life and probably deeply irritating once we get into our stride . Until then sleep well my friend .

My kelp tabs are not big, I look in reviews on amazon for any mention of size because I can't swallow big pills. I think maybe this is how kelp works, you take it for a month and it gives your system a boost then you settle back into the black hole of fatigue
I'm sleeping ok Polly but have the energy levels of a very old slug. I spend the days in the recliner reading and floating around the net - haven't even got the energy to knit. But I'm not down at all, I'm quite happy in my wee sluggy self.
I need bloods done I think because I was exactly the same before diagnosis of the AI and the doc said I'd have been dead in a few more months if it hadn't been picked up.
I'm going to get Floravital this week, have to go out nd collect the RV new specs and will get it then.0 -

I am not sure if Boots still have a three for price of two offer and Holland and Barratt used to have buy one get one half price. I have not taken the Floravital yet as I remember to take some in the morning then forget about it in the evening so need to be more organised about it.
I found some nice fleece bedding so have ordered it as a spare set so I don't always feel I have the same bedding on even though it will get washed regularly. The present set is grey to tone with the bedhead and the new one is a very pretty blue and white and is reversible with white and blue and comes with a deep fitted sheet as well.
I fancy egg and toast for breakfast even if there are more scare stories about eggs. At least they are real food rather than sugary cereal. I used to have instant porridge but want to use up the last few sachets then start using real rolled oats."This site is addictive!"

I think you'd be wise to request a full bloods test from the surgery Mar. Youngest has her monthly ones booked ahead at each appt with the nurse . We have a drop in bloods clinic which doesn't require an appt just the gp leaving a form at reception or as happened last Friday he printed a form and pointed her to the nurse as things were a bit wonky with her recent tests and he wanted ro check again .
I've looked at recliners over the years but if I got one I'd probably lie back and stay there permanently ! I just feel frustrated that any get up and go has got up and gone . Neither of us have had the energy for anything other than doing the stuff we have to . She has a consultant appt on Wednesday 27 miles away so we are not looking forward to that .
elona Boots still had the 3for2 offer on when we were there on Friday. I decided to just get one 250ml bottle that smaller size isn't as good value as the 500ml but I wanted to try it out before buying larger or multiple bottles .The 250ml was 10.49 but I had a double points voucher and was given 100pts on a £4 or more spend .
I never took to instant porridge it reminds me of Ready Brek . I've always liked the jumbo whole oats made with water and a small pinch of salt. SBs used to do So organic jumbo Scottish oats and I bought them for year, now the oats are much smaller so I switched to Jordan's chunky traditional organic whole jumbo oats and they're ok . I make my porridge in the microwave now no more standing over a pan stirring . The large size sistema noodle bowl is perfect for porridge and many other things, it has a nice chunky handle and you can eat whatever you've made straight from it and washing up is quick and easy .I discovered the Sistema range a few years ago and there are so many useful things that are also kind to the environment , even our tiny coop stocks some of the range
I'm fortunate to know the hens my organic eggs come from .I remember the egg scare when Edwina Currie scared many off eggs .I haven't even read the latest scare but will look it up .I believe if you choose wisely, store properly and use in plenty of time you wont go far wrong . I don't support battery farming and would rather pay for eggs from happy hens who aren't trapped in the dark with no room to move and lead a short and miserable life .
