Lovely to 'see' you Burtha. 3mw is still the same I see, living in his own little fantasy. Blaming you takes the guilt away from him. I wouldn't be surprised if once the house is sold and the divorce is finally sorted that will be the last you see of him. DD certainly has his measure.
Not a great deal going on here. Trying to sort out details for my new kitchen. A friend is going to fit it and DS2 will fit the worktops. DH not really interested as he doesn't see what's wrong with my 25+ year old one that has very little workspace. So it's down to me to project manage and make sure I've not forgotten any small detail.
Still blowing a hoolie here so stay safe all.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Hope none of you have been blown to Oz overnight . Weather was awful and as usual we lost the internet . The winds are still blowing a hoolie but at least the hail and heavy rain are taking a break .
burtha It's good to hear from you , you sound much happier and so positive . Your dd certainly has her dad sussed out . Your ex reminds me of I think it was Hester's ex ,the man who went through 3 solicitors trying to get one that agreed with him . Putting rubbish on the drive brings a whole new slant to kerb appeal , he obviously hasn't heard of the prospective viewers who drive past rather than view due to first impressions . At least your son has peace to study , the time will fly and the exams will soon be over .
jamanda I'm so glad your dd and the children are now settled and the finances are sorted .
Have a good day all . Hope you haven't blown away Mar.

Ah burtha, so many of us can relate to what you are going through at the moment. Been there. Done that. Got the scars.
What 3mw can't stand, is that all the balls are now in your court. You are sitting pretty while things are not going the way he planned them. The mere fact that it took him 2 weeks to discover that you had moved proves how much of a concerned parent he is. Your children are not fools, they know very well who has always been there for them and who only cares about himself.
Time now, dear burtha, to look after yourself and YOUR children. I don't think that 3mw has very much to do with you all now. He can pontificate, bluster and manipulate all he likes, it won't do him any good in the long run. Meanwhile, all you have to do is to sit tight and give him enough rope to hang himself with. Good for you!
Silvasava, good luck with the kitchen. I hope you get everything you want in there.
I'm still on the hunt for my bungalow but am viewing another one on Saturday. Fingers crossed.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Thank you ,
Silvasava, New kitchen sounds good and if your planning it you can hopefully have it your way .
Jamanda , glad you daughter is sorted , so wish i could get a council house , bit like gold dust around here ..
bungalow viewing sounds good mona ,fingers crossed
it's so windy here today , house is quiet ...having a quick sit down and a coffee , before prep tea and I go for a run ..
need to get back in the habit of batch cooking , ds eats like he's hollow need to prep and have stuff in the freezer that's cheap and healthy ... actually made a lemon drizzle cake at the weekend , first time I've baked for probably about 18 mth , it lasted all of about 24 hrs lol ... its nice having a working kitchen and oven and heat , small steps

burtha, a working kitchen, oven and heat aren't small steps, flower. They are mighty great long jumps.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Burtha,
My daughter was so stressed and worried that she went to the town hall, told them she was going to be homeless and two of the kids (teenagers) were poorly and had to spend day time in bed. They put her on the list and we didn't hold out much hope.
I was seriously considering a caravan on our drive and other panic solutions. Housing is like gold dust where she is too - and very expensive as it is a touristy place.
The only stroke of luck she has had for 20 years, I reckon, apart from lovely kids.0 -
I know exactly how she feels ,.. I had to borrow money for the deposit for this place , but just had to get out of the old house , youngest daughter was going downhill quick staying there , the ice on the inside of the window was what got me ... I was responsible to do something , felt sick , horrid .. so private rent it had to be , council wait was / is huge ... did the whole going to the office and pleading thing .. I'm still waiting .
So this place costs me about 60 percent of my wage in rent , I'll manage as I have no choice , whatever the money side of things are , my kids are now warm and happy .
But it's such a scary situation to be in , Im glad your daughter is sorted now , at one point I considered a caravan too , ....
So now I just have to make every penny count .£223/ £250 GC0 -

I'm just watching the local weather forecast for the next few days and we're on a weather warning again Storm Gareth is heading in this direction , I'm convinced we never had so many storms until they started naming them .
I've just been thinking back to the warm false Spring a few weeks ago . I remember wondering whether to put the summer cotton bedding on instead of the flannelette . Luckily I didn't .
Monna I'm still lighting the candle, sending the vibes and hoping you find that forever home asap . There doesn't seem to be much on the Island suitable . You mention the bungalows you saw last year but if they weren't right then they're unlikely to be so now . Did you ever look at auctions as I mentioned last year? It does sound very like this area , retirees looking for a bungalow , tourists either buying a holiday home or landlords with holiday rentals .
I know you did some looking around with a friend but have you had any further looks around for private sales? Some people try to cut costs by selling privately . Maybe worth a look around your preferred area if your son can spare a couple of hours to take you .
I was reading Brian Bilstons latest poem online earlier . "Meaningful Vote " I don't know if you're aware he's written a novel . Still with a bit of poetry " Diary of a Somebody " on sale June .
I have asked before but does anyone know if NurseMaggie is ok ? I haven't seen her on the threads for ages and she was always a regular poster .

I'd settle for Spring myself however today the sun is shining, nothing is falling from the sky and the winds have dropped . Just have very soggy waterlogged gardens and they've lifted the flood warnings so that'll do me. It's not looking good in your neck of the woods so take care and hunker down if needed xx
Shanks Thanks for the update on NM. I'm guilty of going awol from time to time but do think of the fencers and wonder how they are.
monna I have everything crossed for the bungalow you were viewing. If it is suitable and within budget I'm hoping there wont be much of a chain this time.
burtha Are you including Housing Association properties in your search - usually former council housing . As you say social housing is like gold nowadays . Hopefully you'll sell now you've had another offer , 3mw is utterly deluded if he thinks he can keep this farce up much longer . Things will work out , look how far you've come already . You have a decent roof , warmth and a haven for you and the 2 youngest . Yes you've had to borrow but the time will come when you can repay that money . Not being under pressure to find somewhere more affordable at the moment gives you time to get through the legal stuff without the nightmare of no warmth etc .
You have good people in your life supporting you through this . I doubt 3mw has much support after the way he's behaved .
Take care all . Elona that bedding sounds so cosy , however I think my flannelette bedding stash will outlive me ! I was thinking of you as dd1 was updating me on the flooding in Yorkshire so hope you were ok .
