Greenbee - thought about you yesterday as you'd been very quiet. Wasn't sure if you were away working. Sorry you've been laid low but hope you'll feel better soon. I think a book fest will really help ;)
Went down to the boat this morning to give DH a hand. I am now covered in fibreglass repair gel ;) It was very windy and the wind blew the card I'd mixed the gel repair on...made a grab for it and now its splattered on my coat, my jeans and me! Good job I was wearing old jeans and my gardening coat. Just got to try to get it off my hands now. - brillo pad???

Have you tried WD40 Silva? I've found it works on most glues . Don't recommend a brillo pad but maybe a gentler scourer would help .

I'm about to read back and catch up as per usual . At least the sun has appeared at last after three days of awful weather .

I inherited two linked butts. They're linked at the top. The second hardly fills. I've managed to aquire hose for the plot I just need to find hose to get to the tap now.

I'll be no longer a stubborn one can girl, slogging water back and forth from the tap.

Shame really as it's perfect for weed control. Nee watter to watter the weeds. :D

I was travelling until I got the lurgy Silvasava! I've been away most weeks this year - but I've been keeping an eye on you all!

Ironically last week was my 'home' week. This week's trip has been cancelled and I've just got a fit note mostly because I was under pressure to get on a plane tomorrow despite telling them last Tuesday I didn't think I'd be able to do this week's trip. I was due to travel yesterday, and despite cancelling that have had requests that I do meetings on Wednesday. Need to be better for next week's trip :)

fuddle - can you put a link at the bottom as well as the top? Or move it and fill in the holes at the top of the butts?

Attempt no 2 . I wrote a long post earlier and got the blocked message .

AOT It's good to see you posted a few weeks ago . I have been wondering how you are . I hope the health issues are being sorted and the lift is behaving itself x

Reading your post Sheila it's hard to remember the lovely sunny weather a few weeks ago . You do sound so settled and contented and it's good your husband is settled himself .

Mar I've never bothered with the notifications . I'm usually a few pages behind so read back from the latest post to the last one I read in my usual weird way. I do prefer to read on the blue skin ( possibly the only person here who does ) so I read then login which takes me back to the green to post .
We've had some sun today but it's going downhill again now . I was awake until 5ish this morning as the hail, sleet and wind battered the windows . Everytime I think the insomnia is on it's way out back it comes so last night has upset the sleep pattern again . I hope you get some good weather soon . We're luckier than many with far worse problems but I hate feeling so confined and only managing to get out for the necessary stuff rather than just something nice .

greenbee I'm not sure how long you've had the Flu but be very careful returning to work . Dd had the flu a while ago and it had a nasty post viral aftermath She passed it on to me it flattened both of us She then got another flu strain with the long post viral aftermath . She has a compromised immune system so has the jab each year and it's only the current season she's caught flu . Make sure you do feel well . I know a lot of people who got the post viral and it's not pleasant or easy to get over .

I hope you've got through the winter ok Fuds and your glasses are fog free :D

I'll post the rest shortly , don't want to lose another long post .

Meanwhile for those who don't know MSE Andrea is leaving MSE on Friday after nearly 15 years . There's a thread over on site feedback Goodbye and Take care for anyone who wants to wish her well .
She's off to try the Good Life with veg , hens and self sufficiency .

Thanks polly. I've been warned by my GP to be careful, and what to look out for - my last bout of flu resulted in pneumonia and losing my voice for months! Luckily work are pretty good, and next week's travel is all in Europe.

Fuddle's post about water butts has reminded me to order mine. All done now, so just need to arrange installation!

It sounds as though you you have a good GP greenbee treasure them . I'm just watching the local weather forecast for the next few days and we're on a weather warning again Storm Gareth is heading in this direction , I'm convinced we never had so many storms until they started naming them .

I've just been thinking back to the warm false Spring a few weeks ago . I remember wondering whether to put the summer cotton bedding on instead of the flannelette . Luckily I didn't .

Monna I'm still lighting the candle, sending the vibes and hoping you find that forever home asap . There doesn't seem to be much on the Island suitable . You mention the bungalows you saw last year but if they weren't right then they're unlikely to be so now . Did you ever look at auctions as I mentioned last year? It does sound very like this area , retirees looking for a bungalow , tourists either buying a holiday home or landlords with holiday rentals .
I know you did some looking around with a friend but have you had any further looks around for private sales? Some people try to cut costs by selling privately . Maybe worth a look around your preferred area if your son can spare a couple of hours to take you .

I was reading Brian Bilstons latest poem online earlier . "Meaningful Vote " I don't know if you're aware he's written a novel . Still with a bit of poetry " Diary of a Somebody " on sale June .

I have asked before but does anyone know if NurseMaggie is ok ? I haven't seen her on the threads for ages and she was always a regular poster .

Polly's right Greenbee - the flu virus that is going around at the moment is a real !!!!!!!! It takes ages to get it out of your system and can have some nasty repercussions. Do look after yourself and please don't be pressurised into working until you feel properly well. Some posters have been impressed by Floravital to help them back on their feet after their immune system is not up to par.

Thanks Silvasava! I'm doing lots of resting, and taking vitamins and am now back to eating reasonably properly. I'm already on iron supplements and am taking extra vit C and zinc. Just fed up with coughing, which is tiring and makes my head ache.

I'm pottering a lot, so hoping that a benefit of the time off will be that the house is tidy and organised and lots of annoying little things are sorted out. I plan to do some filing and sorting out in the office tomorrow in between naps!
