We've got the new greenhouse built and HWK got all the glass into it yesterday. Today we went and found two tall narrow water butts to harvest the water from the roof of it and found them half price in a sale, can't be bad! I even got cheeky as they both came with a rainwater diverter kit (goes on the drainpipe from the house roof) but the same range had a link kit to join two together at the same price as the diverter kit so I asked if we could swap one of them for a link and they said yes! result. Spoke to DD1 this evening and she is still feeling nauseous but is now 11 1/2 weeks into her pregnancy so hopefully that should lessen as time goes on. Still enjoying being here and now sure the move was the best thing we could have done.0

Sorry, I've been completely immersed in Right move. The bungalows on there now are the same ones I was looking at last summer.
I've now decided that I'm not likely to find something and get all the legal work done before I have to leave my house, so I will look for a flat to rent until I find what I want to buy.
THIS IS THE LAST TIME I AM MOVING. You heard that, didn't you.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Too busy with my pre-Kondo declutter/discarding spree to post anything.
Life is pretty quiet at the moment anyway.

Busy looking after a very pretty little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. It's her 6th stay with us, and although she's very nervous generally, she settles in immediately here and makes herself totally at home.
She's 10 years old, and they've discovered she has a heart murmur, but she hasn't as yet got to have any medication. She's currently snoring her little head off on the sofa.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
We went exploring today and found a super little outlet called The Hop pocket midway between Hereford and Worcester, has all sorts of things and a very exciting toy department where I found a Flip page Safari book for little Oreo for Christmas (I know but I like to be organised!) and a National Geographic 3 D jigsaw of the earth, the moon, a comet trail and outer space for my Zebra, it's an amazing thing it's lenticular photography and looks like you could reach through the picture. I also found some rather lovely German Easter treats some little chocolate chicks and eggs exactly the same as those we bought for the girls when we lived in Germany all those years ago so the Grandpickles can have the same experience , fantastic!!!0

Spent the early part of this week down working on the boat. Mainly cleaning the interior and sorting out the stuff that needs to be stored in the lockers. We had some brick rubble in the garden from the wall we took down just before Christmas. Luckily the sailing club wanted it for the base of a new hardstanding so spent yesterday helping DH load about 2 tons into a trailer. All delivered this morning thank goodness. Don't know about anywhere else but our council charge to take it to the tip and they sell it for hardcore for roads!
Your little foray today sounds wonderful MrsL - lovely when you find things that are just right for loved ones.
LW - that little dog sounds a cutie - super that she can relax quickly when she's with you.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
I am trying to escape the clutches of my doctor. He has all sorts of delights lined up for me. Fasting blood tests, some sort of heart test, he is really pushing the boat out.
I'm playing hard-to-get.
Camelot, thank you. As far as I know the sale of my house is going ahead. My poor buyers have been put through the wringer but they are hanging on in there.
It's a strange feeling knowing that at some stage in the not too distant future, I will be moving out not knowing where or when.
It doesnt help with the packing.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Mrs LW, just reading that you're planning on linking 2 butts together. We've got 2 butts and OH put the joining pipe between the two at the top. Given the choice again, we'd link them at the bottom. Reason being if the link is at the top, butt A has to be nearly full before butt B gets any water. This means that when you are trying to fill two watering cans at the same time, generally butt B will empty before butt A. If they are linked at the bottom of the butts, the water level in both butts will be the same so they empty at the same rate.Make £2025 in 2025

We have 2 butts on our shed, a friend linked them for us and he put the link pipe about 1/3rd down the barrels. That way water gets pushed into the second barrel till its full. We are in a bungalow, we had an outside tap fitted and had to use it for the beds, we never water the grass except by mistake!! We cannot have a water meter, our supply is linked to the next door bungalow, so have to pay full water rates.........so the garden gets watered after the barrels have run out. DB takes water off the barrels and stores it in an old dustbin at the top of the garden, he can then use the watering can for more targeted watering.0
