For yesterday,
A skylark high above the field when I was hanging the washing out.
Bid and won on a Toni Raymond flour shaker, have been after one for a while. Starting collecting a few years back when DM gave me a celery jar.
Tasty lunch of beef in a mushroom & brandy sauce, new to me recipe and bit of a treat.
Pottered around the garden, my radishes finally have green shoots after moving them.
Beloved had been working all day as he had end of year to complete but dragged him out for an evening walk, the fresh air and exercise did him good, my man looked very tired.

Good morning
Oh DfV...
Hope Mrs LW is ok.
My recent 5,
Beautiful weekend here and I painted half the back garden fence. No mean feat. I will chip away at the rest this week as the forecast is good.
A couple of new recipes tried and liked. Thank you Nigel Slater.
Lovely walks with borrowed dog. I will miss this.
Seedlings at the most part coming up. 2 trays not, will try moving into the house.
Getting time to read. Got quite a stash to get through.
Have a good day everyone.12 -
Another 🌞 day, tho with a nippy wind.
A heron visited our garden this morning. Such a beautiful bird. It stood peering into the pond for a while then flapped off. DH was very sorry to have missed it, but I bet the fish were relieved.
I made a carrot cake. It's very nice but I won't be doing that again in a hurry. It took ages to grate enough carrot! Also, how are carrot cakes in cafes so dark brown? Mine is more or less usual cake colour with orange flecks! It tastes good though.
Enjoying living in a sparkly clean house. I wonder how long it will take to get back to normal good-enough level?
Happy 🌞 Monday everyone

Back at work today, I am making sure my day is structured with a normal start and end time and a proper lunch break, last week I was all over the place and although I got everything done it was definitely not a normal routine and the work / home time became very blurry.
Anyway pleasures for today.
1. Up, showered and for the first time in weeks I put work clothes and a bit of make up on and boy do I feel better for it.
2. Mr M made me a lovely breakfast of granola, mixed berries a dollop of Greek yogurt and a drizzle of honey, he even made tea in the teapot rather than just in mugs like we normally do.
3. Phoned my parents for a chat, my Dad is so funny and always makes me laugh, his sense of humour is quite infectious and I’ve been grinning like a Cheshire Cat since we spoke.
4. Looking forward to clocking off and taking the pooches for our daily walk. I got weighed this morning and since this isolation I have put 4lbs on so need to up the exercise and check out a few online exercise classes or at this rate I’ll be wobbling back to work when things get back to normal.
5. The bird food has arrived today, which really pleased me as stocks were getting low and I do love watching them on the feeders.

for yesterday
1) a stunning day weather-wise so decided to do some gardening but took my book out. Book finished, garden untouched lol
2) My hour's walk with the dogs. Was actually 55 minutes, and will do that circuit again. Lots of crossing the road though!
3) Then made a lish risotto
4) watched Treasure Island with DD2 - we very much enjoyed it
5) DD2 made a cake and I had a piece and it was absolutely lish, all 10,000 steps worthMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures today.....
Walk in the park with dog.
First choir lesson of the summer term, done via Zoom. We got more done than usual, and the songs are going to sound amazing.
Lunch of dustbin minestrone - bit of red pepper, scraggy carrots, floppy rocket and kale, leftover stuffed tortelloni and cauliflower cheese, all bunged in a pan with other ingredients from the storecupboard to make a substantial soup. Served with partbaked rolls finished off in the oven, warm with butter. Fresh pineapple for dessert. Lovely.
Satisfying spell of pruning in the garden in the sunshine.
Fairy lights strung around the patio.
Relaxing on the sofa, son finishing his work for the day, uplifting music on Radio 2.
Positive news that the daily number of Covid19 deaths has dropped for two days running. Too early to put the flags out just yet, I am happy for lockdown to continue for as long as necessary. Our health and safety has to be number one priority.

Hello. I said this morning‘I will remake my bed before it’s bedtime’ pah! I never. Hate coming upstairs and actually having to make it before I can climb in but it’s a good job done and of course nice to have clean dried on the line bedding.
up early. Had a nice doggy walk over the field. Though no ducks this morning.
Potter. potter. Plants watered. Washing out. Floors swept. Downstairs loo cleaned.Round to mums who was a bit better today. As in the teeniest bit, cut her lawn. Did some weeding. Emptied some pots that have sat with weeds in them for over two years and then snaffled them for my garden ( though did ask!)
went to supermarket. Not too big a queue but folk just too close ( and that includes staff) Had to get a few things for us, stuff for mum and then stuff for her next door neighbour.Dropped some things off for my friend and chatted from a safe distance. Then home for a whole half an hour before back out again to mums. Met OH friend ( and mine) on way round so chatted to him from a safe distance) . Gave stuff to mum and her neighbour, brought in her washing and folded it, chatted for a bit then came home.
such a beautiful day but a rather cool wind. Sat in garden for a wee bit. Planted some seeds. The three of us plus the dog sat laughing on the garden sofa ( well I’m sure the dog would laugh if he could ...though he won’t be tomorrow he’s getting a bath!)
made dinner whilst watching Masterchef Australia. Made coronation chicken with work recipe. Had it in paninis and with salad and homemade coleslaw. Was very yummy. Was my turn to cook.Bought an RTC bunch of spring flowers so they smell delightful and are in my bedroom.13 -
Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) A lie in.
2) Hen OK and no work needed doing on the allotment today.
3) Dropped some bits off at my parents'. One of their friends has died from coronavirus, sadly.
4) Popped to take some little "treasures" to small niece - at a distance!
5) Nice burgers for tea.
6) Watched a meteorite and loads of satellites.
7) Did an online quiz with smaller son (PieFace, for those that know him online) and we suddenly got on a roll and were 18th out of 2051 !
