Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday....
I gave myself a day off from household jobs. I have a very long "to do" list as the more I do the more I seem to find that still needs doing.
A knee support that I ordered online (sorry Mr Postie) arrived. It really does make walking easier and less painful.
Sitting down to watch youtube and do some crochet (project 3) as the mood took me - see above re day off.
Sorted all the fruit/veg/food in the fridge into portions and froze what won't be used in the next couple of days. This is a pleasure because it means nothing will be wasted. This activity was allowed during my day off as it classes as being healthy and in the interests of me staying sane.
Couple of hours chat and gaming online with very tired best friend. He's been on call this past week and worked a lot of hours. I sent him sweets via a post/ebay thing and they'd arrived so although he was tired he was happy. He was allowed alcohol last night as he wasn't on call so I had a G&T. Just to keep him company obviously.
Take care all of you and stay safe

Pleasures for today.
1. Currently sat with a cuppa and a slice of cake watching the birds on the feeders.
2. Washing and ironing basket empty, house clean and sparkling and a scented candle on the go.
3. Video call with DD’s ...so nice to ‘see’ them and have a catch up.
4. Journal up to date, not very interesting reading at the minute but gives me something to do.
5. Stew and dumplings for dinner, a bottle of wine for me and some beers for Mr M in the fridge to be enjoyed tonight while watching a movie together (well that’s if we can agree which one to watch)Well Behaved women seldom make history

Hello. Been a beautiful day here..roasty toasty this afternoon. By roasty toasty I mean 14o which was lovely.
up and about early.Spent 5 hours at allotment, much chatter from a suitable distance. Planted seeds, son and DD2 helped with the re-fencing of beds, two down two to go.
enjoyed picnic lunch in the sunshine.
Lordy the huge walk home made only easier by lambs in the fields.
supermarket shop .Popped to mums she’s really not great so back in tomorrow. Called sister and messaged aunt to let them know.
sons turn to cook so rather nice tacos and salad. My turn to wash dishes.
magnum-esque lolly for pud.15 -
1 I was finally inspired to both write and cook, seems my ideas will always come in the middle of the night which I’m used to now.
2 Made a really lovely turkey mince dinner from scratch, the only added thing was a veg stock cube, it was really tasty and packed full of good things.
3 It seems after writers block comes a lot of weird and wonderful ideas.
4 I ordered the MSE tip of the gardeners magazine with seeds packets
5 I’m delighted to find a local scheme that looks fantastic, it’s called spadework, but it doesn’t give an indication of its prices so I might find out next week.

Greetings all!Having a wedding anniversary with bonus grief as we always clocked how many years by eldest's age plus one. This year? We have to remember the year we got married in and calculate, or just face the pain & add one to what should have been. Both of us distinctly weepy.Anyway, OS Pleasures still occurring, still appreciated.Got the weekly shop - no spring onions! To get seed packet off Middleson... [“It’s safe, mum” translates to “I can’t remember where I put it”, yes?]Doodle appreciating teachers & childcare - and rightly!Colleague being trained in furlough funding as her team have access to one of the systems already. So proud of what she’s doing to keep businesses & people afloat. An entire hide of leather was delivered yesterday & I was in a phone meeting & never realised it! How soon before I can plead for a sheath for my throwing knives, I wonder?Overheard Hermes gnome picking up a parcel - he has sons well trained now, it’s very reassuring.Neighbour's hens are laying like it’s going out of fashion - suddenly gifted a dozen very fresh eggs!Son woodcarving missed & sliced himself slightly - sympathy withheld when he had the chain mail glove but hadn’t used it... [Two days running! This learning by experience bit is not happening for some reason.]Absolutely behind putting Captain Tom into the running for Sports Personality of the Year. Just hope he survives to December, & gets to meet the Queen as he wants. Love the image of him now with his regiment then - beautifully assembled.I’m listening to but not watching Australian treasure hunters & so I’m hearing excited or peeved Aussies & Clangers as the metal detectors find things...I have cut my hair. Well, trimmed off the bottom 2 inches. Now a through stroke ends sooner than expected, but it feels tidier! These firsts are lumpy. Still, at least I'm not trying to go into an office & work in an office! Strange blessings. Courage strength love & hugs to all as have need & may your weekends be serene. (I may yet be embroidering days of the week on my underpants to help keep track!)15

thinking of you dfv must be very very hard (((hugs)))
For today
1) standing pilates from my online gym today. the pleasure is I finished it without having to press pause and I get my rest day tomorrow lol
2) mum had run out of milk, orange juice and green veg so took minnie (my red with white spots shopping trolley) to lidl - also bought us some milk, veg, tins, prawns and cooked meat. What a treat that was stretching my legs!
3) had lunch in the garden. DD2 and I dressed the garden table as an Italian cafe and I drank the last 175ml from my bottle of red wine. Took a beautiful photo of DD2, bop would be proud - luck rather than judgement though - I had accidentally turned on some blurring background thing.
4) then an online chat with some phd students as part of Graduate Women Scotland East outreach. a mix of talking about their research and life in Dundee in the time of lockdown
5) then up to mum's with her shopping. We sat in her garden (suitable distanced of course) and enjoyed the sun - we didn't take the dogs cos they don't understand social distancing, but quite honestly i think they were glad of the rest from humans!
and now in bed with my book having just had a lovely bath - Salt Lane by William Shaw. Very good so farMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Enjoyed a walk at our local country park 4 days this week and met 2 friends (at a distance) whilst there so nice to have a chat
OH bought me a reduced price Easter egg as I didn’t have one!
Managed to clear the rubble left by the builders from my yet to be finished kitchen and placed the jasmine I got for my birthday 2 months ago and some other pots where the old coal bunker housing the old boiler used to be!
elderly neighbour called paramedics out as she fainted but she seems to be ok and OH took her some dinner which she enjoyed
Family quiz on WhatsApp which was good fun

Pleasures for today (Saturday)
1) A lie in.
2) Tomato plants arrived so they are now in their growbag, in the greenhouse.
3) Hen OK.
4) Cooked a very tasty quiche for lunch, using up LO gammon and broccoli. Made a few jam tarts with the surplus pastry.
5) Went for a quick walk to the local nature reserve - weirdly, I have only been 3 times! It is probably 500m from my house (the edge) but it is impossible to access that way thanks to fences, a stream and old pit workings. So you have to walk 2 miles to get there. I had never taken bigger son but he was pleased with the wild garlic, the fact that it had got so overgrown since the pit shut (1947) and that a landslide a few years back has uncovered a dump so you can discover old crockery and hundreds of 1950s bottles.
6) Curry for tea.
7) Phoned my old school friend.
8) Casualty.

Another lovely morning. At least the weather seems to be on our side.
Finally finished sewing my dress. First garment I've made in about 40 years! It will be ideal for strolling along a sunny prom! If only! Oh well, at least it won't go off before I can wear it! It's a bit big, but with all the comfort eating just now, that may not be a bad thing.
Finished watching Unorthodox. Really enjoyed it. I've now started The Innocence Files, which looks good so far, and very thought provoking. It's about the Innocence Project in America which aims to redress possible miscarriages of justice. It's worrying how many cases seem to slip through the net, and, I suspect, not only in America.
Managing to get Asda order slots a bit more easily, though insomnia is helping with that! I found it really difficult at first to think what to order. We are more the 'wander about and see what we fancy' type of shoppers, so it has helped to concentrate the mind, and sort out the freezer and cupboards.
Happy 🌞Sunday everyone
