(((Hugs))) DFV
For yesterday,
Had a bit of a lie-in and came downstairs to find Capt S watching a football match from 1975, the sideburns were longer than the shorts!
Dancing around the kitchen to Motown songs, small dog very excited at this and sort of joined in.
Made a batch of fruit buns as cake tin looking decidedly sparse.
Spoke to DSIL and caught up on news.
Leg stretching evening walk followed by chicken curry and binge watching Thick of It.15 -
1. Long conversation with my neighbour over the fence at 2m. It was good to have a chat and laugh.
2. Spoke with my parents on the phone. They are ok and still managing to get online shops.
3. Quiet evening with DH as both boys were meeting friends on houseparty and zoom. We were told we weren't allowed on the internet as our connection isn't good enough.
4. DS2 cut DS1 hair and it looks ok.
5. More weeding done in the garden.15 -
Morning all - my penultimate Sunday (I hope) where i have to work - i thought that yesterday as i gazed out the window from my desk. I may choose to work some weekends in the future but this weekend and next weekend are the last where i should absolutely have to.. This thought is likely to come back and bite me on the bum.
DforV - thinking of you. The firsts are always hard and must be even more so when they shouldn't have been...
Mhags - sorry your mum isn't so well, hope she turns a corner soon.
Pleasures for Friday
1. Yoga in the lounge from my online class
2. Bike ride up the lane, bit chilly and a bit windy but nice to be out
3. Another family film, this time was Coco. Was good.
4. OH cooked ... something or other for tea..
5. Watching my seedlings growing
And yesterday..
1. OH's birthday. We cobbled together some pressies courtesy of Amazon (i know, i know) and some beers from the local coop
2. DD baked him a cake, though it couldn't be a surprise - coca cola cake
3. Finding a bag of flour in the cupboard after i thought we'd run out. Also OH found pasta flour in a shop - not sure if it's more like plain or bread flour but i'll blend it in with what we've got... (anyone know?)
4. OH cooked his own birthday meal of french country casserole (beef in red wine)
5. Another family film - OH's choice of The Great Escape. Flipping heck! it's nearly 3 hours long!!
Have a good day - I shall be typing..I wanna be in the room where it happens16 -
Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday......
Load of washing done and dried. Most of it put away but I'm going to have to do a bit of ironing at some point.
Welsh rarebit for lunch. We make it at work but I've never made it at home. Now seemed like a good time to try.
We've had a few days off from going out walking. That's not the pleasure - the pleasure is that as I'm actually resting my sore knee it's starting to feel better.
Watched Netflix for a bit with the HT. The cat is a hopeless tv watcher. She kept swapping between sitting on both of us then stood in front of the screen a few times.
Last night was a virtual pub quiz with my school friends. It may also have involved gin (me and a couple of the others), wine, beer and cider (others). The quiz took three hours because we all talked so much but it was very funny and it was good to have some adult company.
DfV hugs. The firsts are horrible and so are some of the seconds, thirds and fourths. I was daft enough to get married on the late MrC's birthday, which oddly was the day after my birthday. It means that my birthday is always slightly overshadowed by the next day being what should have been a double celebration.....and I thought we were so clever at the time.
Ssue hugs for you too. Just because.

Sunny here again so have been pottering around the garden....well more sat reading in the garden if I am honest. Pleasures for today.
1. a nice lie in followed by a full English breakfast.
2. Daily walk with Mr M and the pooches, lovely to see so many bluebells they looked really pretty.
3. Quiz questions sourced ready for family online quiz tonight. Our round of question is music and with a wide age range of players took a while trying to get questions from all eras.
4. Sunday roast on the go, chicken and stuffing today with carrots, broccoli, peas, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings.
5. Next weeks meal plan sorted and home ‘office’ upgraded for tomorrow. I am working from the spare bedroom and my desk is a dressing table but the stool is not at all comfortable for long periods, so brought in a high back garden chair and cushion. I can’t believe it took me over 3 weeks to think of doing it.Well Behaved women seldom make history

VJsmum I feel your pain, I'm also trying to cobble together pressies and Amazon is going to have to feature.
1 I’m starting to feel better the meds have kicked in.
2 Weeded and mowed the back garden. Dug two garden chairs out, then cleaned them up, the joys of having cream cloth, but they were second hand a good few years ago now wondering why I bothered having now seen the animals climbing all over them hey ho. Feeling thankful for both the animals and the garden.
3 Won something I wanted for DH’s birthday off the bay at a good price, I’m not sure if it will ever get here but pleased none the less. Also have plans for his main pressie next week the website says they are still delivering so I’m hoping, the main part is something he has asked for specifically.
4 Home made chips, with breaded fish and veg was tea, but it was only okay as the fish wasn’t quite our usual tasty.
5 A joint effort to stop the sour dough starter that didn’t work, we turned it into pizza bases using salsa, and mozzarella from the freezer, and now bases for the next 2 days lunches.

Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) A lie in.
2) Bigger son did a 50 mile bike ride!
3) Hen OK. Greenhouse very warm.
4) Next door's had another tree taken down (there are plenty left but the garden had been pretty much in darkness under 4 trees that were 3 times the height of the house). Photo of the view to follow. This time last year, I could only see leaves!
5) The neighbours gave bigger son a piece of trunk and he carved them a spoon.
6) Wraps for tea.
7) We watched the film "Lucy".
8) Sat out watching meteorites for a while.

Good morning. Beautiful sunrise this morning and to be another lovely day.
Sunday!
Had to go round to mums , she’s not great. Will try and speak to a GP today. We stripped and remade her bed. Washed and dried that. Hoovered. Tidied kitchen (again) . She managed a shower then back to bed.Went to allotment from there . Walking down met a couple of people I know who were chatting to each other from a safe distance. Joined in a chat from a suitable distance! One is the daughter of a friend who died and she is so like her, it was lovely to chat.
Then my companion (DD2) decided she didn’t want to come so headed home and I continued on my way through the woods to the allotment. Beautiful walk. Just listening to the birds. And all the trees around and the sun sending rays through them.
Son was already there but had to wait till I ate my sandwiches! He made another gate for the other side of my beds. Then he left. I chatted and watered my seeds . And that was about it. But managed to stretch that out for 2.5 hours. It was gloriously warm (and warm enough for me!)
Big walk back to mums ( all uphill) met another set of people to chat to from a safe distance. Brought the bedding back in off the line. Hung more washing up inside and then as I’d been out with no money son kindly nipped to supermarket for milk and bread for her.And then the traipse home with tired legs by this point (which couldn’t face a walk back to supermarket) but they could manage to recline on a garden sofa and I watched Masterchef Australia. Then my sister phoned, then I phoned friend .Son made very nice nachos and salad for tea. Then by this time I was totally pooped and fell asleep early. Hence no post yesterday!I’m imagining more of the same today ...with the addition of clean the bathrooms!Have a lovely day 😎15 -

Morning all - bright here.. not sure of the temperature but our heating kicked in...
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Conclusions going ok. they read quite well but i need to make sure they're exciting enough
2. made sourdough pancakes for lunch. Had mine with berries, yogurt and nuts. DS made me laugh - came in while i was cooking them, i said "do you want one" and so he had two! I was still cooking when he'd finished so he had a third and said 'now what shall i have for lunch!"
3. went for a walk with OH in the afternoon - across some different fields (on public footpaths i hasten to add). we've lived here 22 years and have discovered more new walking routes in the last few weeks than in the whole of the time we've been here.
4. OH cooked delicious roast chicken dinner. One of the nicest he's done in a long time.
5. we had a family cleaning the house session. Much quicker when 4 of you do it! This is one thing that will continue...
Have a good day all. My thesis goes in next week - i am, at once, terrified and relieved...I wanna be in the room where it happens14
