SSue, So glad you have found a care place to trust. I had a large care package with my dad (2 people 4 times a day), when he had gone through savings they were very good at switching over.
Happycas, the asthma was well under control for ages, back in 2011 I ended up in hospital with it, they fine-tuned the meds to perfection and I’ve stayed on it since with no problems, it’s been years since I’ve needed the actual pred tabs hell for the weight and sleeping will be a thing of the past for a while. It will be fine and I am thankful it is nothing worse. Hope yours remains good, I’m having to remember to shut the windows at night as it sets up DHs hay fever something awful.
Salad D, we’ve been watching 2 tiny mice, totally agree they are beautiful - outside, and an injured Maggie with it’s mate so sweet to watch it’s happily eating here, with the mate watching over then when full the other has it’s fill and they fly off together.
1 We tried to develop a yeast starter but we just couldn’t get it working, so I caved and purchased yeast off a local baker, and I admit a catering pack of bacon that I have divided it into packs of 4 rashers into the freezer. Ah the days of cooking bacon packs. The local company that delivered the above, had a happy conversation from the other end of the drive.
2 Fb chatted with DB, aunt and MIL.
3 DH turned his hand to sewing us a few masks, if we do have to go out, they aren’t comfortable but we can breathe through them, he used a hepa henry vacuum bag to sew.
4 Tonight’s creation will be chicken, boiled new pots and salad made into coleslaw.
5 Defrosted 2 year old Christmas cake, will have a slice warmed up topped up with brandy and cream I reckon.

Hello. A quietish day here (as if there are any other kind!) pottered around most of day.Sat ( may have had an unintentional snoozette ) in garden for a bit this afternoon.Making stuffed peppers and some potato salad for tea. Using up what’s in fridge.
Enjoying having the patio doors open.
Enjoying watching and listening to birds.DD2 managed to get me pea seeds when she was out today so shall soak overnight and plant tomorrow.
have a nice night 😊12 -
Sorry if I’ve confused people
DH is still at home ( and will remain so)
I have had to change to private carers as he’s no longer eligible for Social Services as he’s not going to improve .
Two will come in every morning for half an hour to wash ,dress and get him up into his wheelchair
and two will come in every evening to reverse the process .
During the day I can cope getting him into his recliner chair and the wheelchair and commode as necessary, but getting him in and out of bed on my own is now impossible.

It’s been quite hard to focus on pleasures the last few days, I was starting to feel quite down and then felt guilty because compared to so many we are in a fortunate position as our family are all currently in good health and haven’t been hit financially yet. Anyway I gave myself a good talking to and a kick up the bum to snap me out of it.
So pleasures.
1. Hot dogs for lunch and prawns, pesto and spaghetti for dinner with some garlic bread...yummy.
2. Ordered new dog clippers for one of the pooches....dreading have to attempt to clip him myself, but needs must as he is resembling a canine yeti and I doubt the groomers will be open for sometime.
3. Had a chat with my parents, who don’t live close to me and they are well and upbeat. God bless their neighbours who are making sure they are ok and shopping for them.
4. Hit the supermarket today and got what we needed although I did pay through the nose for eggs, all the normal free range ones had gone so had get some fancy ones with dark brown shells....sad thing is I kept a variety of different breeds of chicken for years and although certain shell colours seem prized they all taste the same as regular free range eggs.
5. Sorted the wardrobes out and packed away most of my winter clothes and dug out the summer ones. Very satisfying , everything is colour coordinated and sorted by item Looks like one of those capsule wardrobes (can you tell how bored I am getting).
Thinking of you Suffolksue
VJsmum, I watched Unorthadox too and agree it was fab.
Thanks for posting everyone it really cheers me up and very best wishes to you all.

DD if I could get my lot to eat an olive, the risotto would be wonderful. Sadly, there is only me who likes olives ☹️ However, the Cheesy Peas Pasta could be a winner on name alone 🙂
There's only me and DD2 in the house and she doesn't like olives - all the more for me
.
Saturday was m’eh as got a slightly surprising and not totally nice FB message from a friend – I decided he must have been drunk when he sent it so just ignored him, but it kinda put me off going on line apart from work. Well it turns out his account was hacked!!! As was another friend of mine’s, in her case she’s self-employed and the spear-phisher (I have learnt a new word!) had in both cases done just enough research to make it look plausible. For her the post asked friends and family for a small loan and her relatives are now £750 the poorer
So a quick round-up of life since Easter Saturday:
Sunday was Easter sunrise on Balgay Hill with the dogs, Easter Egg hunt for DD2 (I too wrote clues Frith, first time I’ve done that in a very long time. DD2 who is 26 loved them) then a nap then Jesus Christ Superstar
Monday was 21km (combination of youtube exercise class, walking dogs, a picnic in the back garden and walking on the spot watching a walking tour on youtube - i have become addicted! Then Jane Eyre
Tuesday was work till 11pm cos i had to get a report finished
Wednesday was a lovely sunny day so after work DD2 and I sat in the front garden
Thursday was another long day at work, including 6 meetings (!) - dd2 cooked a lish supper
Today I had my first virtual funeral - a friend from church who will be sorely missed - sad but lovely. Finished with Always look on the bright side of life. My 83 year old friend's sense of humour was always irreverent, probably why we got on so wellThen 'back' to work then after work drinks with a fabulous colleague, supper (cooked by dd2) a walk with dd2 and dogs, 30 minutes of a walking tour of Siena and now in bed with the RSNO and reading a whole week of pleasures from you lovely people. And yes BOP we need our beloved Hatters and Mariners back.
So many more than 5 good things there. Hope you're all keeping well.

Friday pleasures
It rained but only after DH watered the vegetables 😆 wicked of me to laugh 😞
4th trip out since 13th March - to local newsagents - magazine, bread rolls, sliced loaf, couple of packets of biscuits, a hand sanitizer, pack of 5 masks - neither of the last two items were cheap but are nice to have.
A neighbour offered me some fennel (not liked by her family) from her veg box & I donated a spare pot of single cream. Soup will be made in both houses 😉
There are now at least 9 leek seedlings 🙂

For yesterday,
Changed the bed, washed and dried the sheets on the line, not as warm as last few days but plenty of sun and nice breeze.
Over to see the beautiful grey one, gave her a groom in her field then took her for a walk in-hand. She mostly grazed whilst her Mum stood and daydreamed. At one point we walked under a large fir tree and a big bird flew out over our heads, we had disturbed a barn owl!
Good chat, at appropriate distance, with yard owner and caught up on all our news.
Made a Bolognessy type sauce but with pork mice and loads of veggies, very tasty and plenty left for other meals.

Enjoyed my day.
1. Peaceful start with a coffee in the garden.
2. Text conversation with a friend - hopefully she felt better at the end of it. She lives alone and has health problems.
3. Have picked the few remaining daffodils and put in a vase and they are cheerful.
4. Had a virtual pre dinner drinks with friends it was good to spare them and catch up. It worked very well.
5. Sorted out finances and in a better place than I thought we would be.
6. Watching tv together.13
