Pleasures for Tuesday and Wednesday:
Lone walk in the sun over to Abbey Gardens where OH was working “hello”
Managed to order the extra pack of floor tiles that were short for the new kitchen and pick them up the next day
walk down to the market in the open air and avoiding people
weekly visit to my 89 year old neighbour. We had our chat me sitting on a chair outside the back door and her on a chair in the the entrance to the kitchen! It put a smile on her face and meant she saw someone today
Trying not to stress over things like troublesome new heating controls and new dishwasher when they are much bigger things going on
Stay safe and well everyone 😊😘

Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Decided to get a few jobs done before "shutdown" so had my hair cut, eyebrows done, got various bits then a bag of hen food.
3) One hen OK, one looking a bit peaky. They are old ladies now and in the 18-24 month window that they should survive after re-homing. Like the last batch of ex batts, I think they will go one after the other.
4) Made kedgeree for tea that was quite nice, despite being made from cauliflower rice. BSD day 10.
5) Binge watching Line of Duty.
In worrying news, bigger son (who came back to the UK from France a few days ago) has 5 ill colleagues. They're all in their early 20s so 3 under the weather and 2 pretty ill with high temperatures. He said at 4.15 precisely this afternoon, he suddenly developed a cough... Now the schools are shut, discussions are taking place as to long how long he will keep his job. I've made his bed up ready!
Good to hear from you, Suffolk Sue.

Wednesday pleasures
Dry day if a bit overcast
Fox visited, as did a squirrel, goldfinches & parakeets - missed the robin though.
Anyone remember a programme called The Time Tunnel? I just watched the 1st episode - it was a favourite when I was young ( mid 1960’s 😬) - now it is just sooo funny 😄 although James Darren was gorgeous 😉
Made risotto cakes from last night’s lo risotto - scrumptious 😋

Happy birthday son of VJsmum
1. Washing dried on line.
2. Work was interesting. More news about what is going to happen from next week. All subject to change. It seems as organized and planned as it can be with an ever changing situation.
3. Cake at work.
4. Went shopping after work and fruit and veg were in sufficient quantities for me but limited in meat, fish and bread with no pasta or rice.
5. Early night and reading my book.10 -

On heck, Frith. Sounds a bit unsettled for your son , and now a cough too. At least if the cough goes, he can come back home.
Pleasures for yesterday
Went to the hearing clinic and got new batteries and wires ( although I do wonder at the moment if not being able to hear what is happening, esp on the news, might be a blessing) The lady on reception barked instructions at me from behind a glass screen. I felt sorry for her as she was clearly stressed, and seemed to think that the fewer words she used, the less chance there was of catching anything! Or perhaps she's always rude!
On the way back to the car we called into Marks. They seemed very well stocked but I didn't really look round. Just got chamomile tea - to keep me calm! Pleased they had plenty but I didn't stockpile!
More msgs from DS and DD asking if we need any shopping. At the moment we're still going out but being sensible - a new one for us!
And, saving the best until last, DGD's 6 monthly clinic check went well. That's such a relief that it could easily be a week's worth of pleasures in one!

For yesterday,
Popped into village shop, still reasonably well stocked and people smiling at each other, then in to garden centre for bird food and various seed packets, the lady on till remarked how lovely all our gardens will be this year.
Big bowl of feta salad for lunch.
My catch up on news, the 5pm press conference and limiting myself to just this.
Watched Back in time for the Corner Shop, the decade was the 1970’s and so many memories of my childhood, Spangles, Shoot magazine and Toast Toppers!
Seeing how nature is already bouncing back after restrictions on human movement, perhaps Mother Earth is taking back control!

Art'noon - suffolk sue, no need to be sorry. We are just thinking of you is all...
Pleasures for yesterday
1. DS had a lovely birthday - he says it was made even better by social distancing as there was no pressure to go out. As an introvert, this was his ideal! We went for a walk in the countryside and had a family meal. His pressies were a hit! Though the new guitar will have to wait a while
2. Hmm, probably should have spaced the above out as i will now run out of pleasures!! I had a lovely soak in the bath when we got back from our walk. Watched an episode of The Split
3. Being disappointed about Glastonbury, but not gutted. Mainly cos those of us with tickets now already have them for next year!
4. and 5. banked!I wanna be in the room where it happens9 -

Good evening all, pleasures for yesterday....
A day to myself. The HT was in school so I took the chance of a day to mostly sit and think and plan
Made salmon and asparagus quiche to last a few days lunches. Yum
Washed the cover for the cat's heated mat and also her blanket that goes underneath. The whinging, whining and meowing were comical until order (and her heated mat) was restored
Being able to collect the HT from school. Walking hurts him after a day in school but he usually has to walk home on the days that I'm in work. The only lessons that he didn't have a cover teacher for were maths and PE apparently.......
Watching the greedy starlings shovelling mealworms in on the bird feeder11
