Monday pleasures
The sun ๐ ย was shining & it was quite warm
Neighbour who was going shopping in her car asked if I needed anything - I must look really old ๐ or more likely she was just being a good neighbour ๐ ๐ย
Time spent working in the garden with DH ๐ย
Square crumpets for lunch
Nephew (living in France) phoned. The shop he works in has been closed by order of the French Government as have all bars - you canโt even drown your sorrows now ๐ - he is off to Marseille with his girlfriend for a monthโs isolation. The pleasure is he is fine (apart from his gout ๐ฑ)
Fridge only took 15 minutes to clean ๐ฅณย
Bears repeating - the sun was shining ๐ย
Knowing I am not mad - just the rest of the world has gone to hell in a hand basket ๐คญย
Reading other posters pleasures especially in the current climate - thank you ๐ย

Pleasures for today (Monday)
1) A lie in.
2) Bigger son is OK but 1 of his colleagues is ill, with 3 in isolation in total... He's still in Norfolk.
I see the forum is still doing the stupid random line spacing.
3) Hens OK.
4) Managed to get eggs from Tuffins. Sainsburys was awful - no pasta, rice, tins, bread, eggs, meat or fish or frozen veg. Picked up a few bits so organic onions (!), a bag of mussels (they're one of my most favourite foods, but only bought because there was no fish!) and some curry paste.
5) I've lost 7 lbs on the Blood Sugar Diet.
6) Did the online training for invigilation for GCSEs. It was OK this year. Last year I kept getting one wrong in each section and having to start again!
7) Scrubbed the pots in the garden.

Cranky40 cobnuts seen to grow really well here. I'm always pulling them up!ย
1. Survived the day at work. Various things happened which were infuriating and continually happen but no one will do anything even if a solution is given to them.
2. Spent time in the garden after work - walking around , drinking a coffee which helped me to calm down. The daffodils look lovely.
3. Tea was easy but tasty - African drumsticks with baked potatoes.
4. DS2 girlfriend worked from here and did put the washing out on the line for me.
5. Relaxed evening with all talking to each other.9 -

Pleasures for yesterdayย
shopping at Lidl ย Got most things - no rice, pasta, tin toms, loo rolls, but got fresh meat, veg and fruit and a bottle of wine! I am asthmatic so probably keeping mostly to home now
builders still making some slow progress to the mammoth kitchen job
spent an hour pottering in the sunshine in the gardenย
bestie called in for a cup of tea for what could be the last time for a while!
repeat of roast chicken and trimmings for dinnerย
keep well and ๐9 -
Please may I join you
I am so grateful for so much in my life, but just now I think I need to remind myself of that so.... For yesterday
A good yoga session
Glorious sunshine
Phone call from my friend
Offers of help from DD and DS - thankfully not yet needed
There!ย I've made a start!
Thank you for listening9 -
Welcome Happycas.
My pleasuresย
Dog walk
Chats with friends
Gardening
My familyย
Variety of birds coming to my homemade feeder, doesn't look great, but they're using it.Spend less now, work less later.9 -
Welcome HappyCas.
For yesterday,
I survived an emporium visit, the normal Monday morning regulars just smiled and raised our eyebrows at each other as we were buffeted by the crowd. I kept my patience apart from one strong Excuse Me when I was shoved aside by someone in apparent desperate need for salad cream!
Our village community rallying round, leaflets are being distributed to pinpoint any vulnerable residents and a plan being out in place to support them.
A warm sunny afternoon and time spent with my girlie.
Reading about a local pub that now itโs largely redundant is organising a distribution of its large food stores to the needy.
Troubling times but an early night with a hot choc and my book.

Well we are on lockdown in our household!ยDD2 has a lurgy which may or not be serious so we are now self isolating as per government advice.
Sheโs not been right since Saturday with vomiting but everything seems to have escalated overnight with sore throat, head, temp, dry cough so we shall err on the side of caution and look for pleasures within the house and garden!ยAnd in saying that Iโm off to hang out the washing as itโs to be dry this morning!ย11 -

Today a friend very much in the at risk group (age and health complications) sent an email to vestry to say he was socially distancing so wouldn't be at this evening's meeting .he apologised for being a wimp. We should all remember, there is NOTHING wimpish about social distancing / self isolating, and no apology should be made for responsible behaviour. OK, minor rant overMrsSD declutter medals 2023 ๐ ๐ ๐ โญโญ 2025
