They went to Notts county DD - non league but with a mahoosive ground.
Pleasures for yesterday
1. DS's lectures called off for the remainder - he is relieved. THree more pieces of assessment - his exam has been moved to online - and he's done. He will deffo need something to do with his time though...
2. OH and i went to B&Q - not much social distancing in the paint aisle . I think we all had the same idea - might as well get some decorating done if we are forced to stay home.
3. Typing typing... but i feel the end is nigh.. at least till hand in, who knows about after the viva
4. Salmon for tea, with the trimmings. The boys had gammon cooked in coke, we used the coke water to boil cabbage in - was much nicer
5. DS, OH and I watched "Wild" the film. Was very good.
Have a good day all - keep hand washing and stay safe.I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
DD The final instalment in the HM trilogy is the book at bedtime on R4 this week, tempting as it is think I might wait until can read the actual book.
For yesterday,
Up early and after a quick dash outside to pee in the rain small dog wasn’t interested in a walk and went back to bed! Made a batch of bread dough ready for our visitors.
Both hollow legged ones plus a lovely gf came for brunch, bacon butties followed by croissants & preserves. Youngest plus gf are hurtling towards final Uni exams with no face to face lectures available and are worried.
Plans being made for graduation, let’s hope it goes ahead.
Downloaded Archers omnibus, oh my!
Bit of binge watching going on, Inside no 9, dark at times but the usual excellent writing and a raft of decent actors.
Agreement made with beloved to limit exposure to social media and news channels, looking after our mental health too.12 -
Excellent idea re News Lainey I was getting a bit overwrought . I hope Suffolk Sue & Mrs LW are ok. Thinking of you too DforV.
Well done VJsmum. Carry on typing. Totally agree BOP. Fresh food is the way to go if you can.
My recent 5
Working from home this week. Pleasure is having a responsible employer. Not so much a pleasure is Madam yowing at the cat flap to let her in/out.
Asked my elderly neighbour if she needed anything. She was almost pleasant.
Hitting the shops very early this morning for fruit & veg. Shelves were pretty full so hope people are listening.
2 lots of washing blowing on the line.
Will make soup at lunchtime. Because I can

At Marignane, checked in, hire car safely returned. Highest recommendation for Enterprise/Alamo, should it ever be relevant. Do it direct, not via airline.
Take-off still scheduled for 1455h.
1. So glad I did this trip, pour fêter la 75ème anniversaire de M, oldest(both senses)Northern hemisphere friend. Much diverse and shared history. Lots of long talking.
2. All pressies, including ridiculous on-purpose ones, WERE right. No question.
3. Lovely re-meetings with so, so many, asking was & there 'entre nous, en permanence, enfin?' Hard to come away.....never fully do.
4. Elections municipales, plus the fast-changing covid-19 situation made for a very peculiar mix and a very peculiar dimanche matin down in the village proper yesterday. Listening to radio, watching Macron, all has become both surréaliste and subdued. But in this place I have known for 50 years, among so many peeps(or their rellies+descendants) I am chez moi.
5. I love this land.

Take care, everyone.
Not sure what I'm returning to.

Lurches in - RL currently requires management of three situations plus training colleague gone into self isolation (and on such a lovely day can't blame him but Insufficient Data). There has been good stuff though!
Rather a lot, as I upend the file - OS Pleasures recentlyBus waited for me to cross even though I was just a pedestrian!Homeless guy still working his way through the Early Christian Writings we’d discussed months earlier & I got a penguin paperback of for him - we share a trust in penguin translations!Youngest startled us with crashing headache & nausea but responded to paracetamol & more sleep & will be back in school tomorrow - pleasure how we pulled together as a family, even the engineer. The downside of eBay is heaps of tackle scattered about & occupying sprawling space, but the numbers are fun. [Himself’s chortling is a good sign.] Eventually, tidiness May return!Waved to tailor! Always good to see him. Means daylight & out of office early.Admonished two scouts for playing football while a third tried to brush the hall, and one promptly put the ball away & got the *really* wide broom out & working. His mother & sister boggled delightfully & having observed most of the hall cleared, I suggested that he might now give a brother scout a turn. He did. Mother’s expression heartwarming....Bloke (I think) driving Caterham type ultra low slung vehicle, clad in yellow high vis garment that covered his face as well as neck arms chest etc & was frankly hilarious to behold. No idea if he’s covering scar tissue or just protecting his complexion but Just So Funny to see driving. These noise cancelling headphones are great - engineer engrossed can be strolled past & his tablet batted so it skips to the next tune - squalk! I’m a mean & evil person (I paraphrase)...My chest freezer has been renamed The Crypt... (Surprisingly useful - ”get two bags of mince from the crypt, give one to dad & stick the other into the freezer“)Engineer back in from an afternoon’s fishing. Caught nothing other than the tree, (his casting being out of practice) & of course, we only found That out when he told nan on the phone...Youngest has steered online conclave to agreement on super technical computer for his birthday - but omitted all internet connectivity! Ahem, drawing board over there....Weekly shop done. Unloaded, put away. Hands scrubbed again. (Should have included hand cream.) Engineer rolls up with friends - how soon before greetings include “wash your hands”?!Found weblink on how to turn pushbike into generator. Should keep engineer out of mischief at some stage! My nominally Jedi (according to the census) husband has handed me the chocolate digestives to hide as they’re “god’s own biscuit” [This raises all sorts of Jedi theological complications...]It’s a wonderful day for wearing wellies! Watching primary school fill with laughing children, some bouncing into puddles, some trying to rock flags into revealing water & some carefully waiting turns to step around puddles.Caught up briefly with old friend - we hugged then went to wash our hands.Homeless guy sat tucked in a small stay as dry as possible position, folded around the book! Delighted to see he can escape into a book, too.The Orthodox Jewish children prancing home in the Purim dressing up, accompanied in some cases by fathers & uncles in equally splendid & unexpected headgear!Paused the car to give a pedestrian a chance to cross & got a lovely grin & slightly pantomimed bow of thanks. Then a green light, so clearly fate intended.Ian Hislop on the olden days! Oh that man...Snorkers roulette at breakfast - will I get the chilli sausages (please not?!) or the plain ones? [Two lovely ones & one bite of the chilli - more flavoured than I like but youngest 'tidied it away'!]Two days training & I am now theoretically an expert. I used to use this software confidently, now I’m aware of things I’d never heard of & my confidence is fuzzier. Ah well, doubtless some of it will come back!“D*mn. Weathergirl has both arms.” We’re huge fans of Lucy Martin, but Tomasz Schafernaker commands amused affection even when explaining we’re going to need wellies Again.Leafing through old Obama Biden memes & hoping he gets the top job. The memes remind me of more courteous, more decorous, as difficult but scrupulously polite days. Giggling at some of them and much enjoying the mutual affection & respect shared with Michelle seen. Missing at present. It is good to tease youngest for “leaving the nightlight on” when he has had a shower but forgotten to switch it off so a green glow haunts the bathroom.Another birthday related parcel is due so husband confined to house awaiting it. His grousing is part a reminder not to take him for granted, a part wholly reasonable peeve, a certain relief he cannot bring the virus home & very funny.Workman sighted on building site, carrying a roll of insulation & a supermarket shopper with the rest of the required tackle.Homeless guy still reading! OK doing evil things to spine of book but reading!Mother hauling her little lad & her big shopping bag along in a Radio Flyer truck of the sort you see in Peanuts! We got one from Costco years ago & It was simple but brilliant.Youngest is 18 - hurrah! Still in full time education & has a very handsome new computer - just managed to wallop the in-house WiFi tweaking the computer software. Ah well.“Call mum names as she wobbles unsafely on the table” seems to be the fun new family game.“Muggerplum” is the hybrid of mother & sugarplum apparently... Someone [currently out of reach] suggested there may be an unvoiced p there. [I must haul that BSD book out & re-read it.]Ah. For taking over plugging a cable in & clicking an onscreen instruction, the engineer is bragging “I’ve fixed the Internet”. He brought the laundry in off the line, I’ll overlook the calumny. This time. [Irony - within 24 hours whole caboose reported to BT - with luck restored Wednesday. This from office.]The list of people I may not visit is lengthening. My parents. My mother in law. Ah well.If you would stun the menfolk of my house, be an unexpected white chicken stalking across our garden. They stood & goggled! I hypothesise it was someone’s escapee (very clean white, really not unobtrusive!) but had thought menfolk Might Possibly make the association with food - nope...Youngest has shopping list of computer-ma-bob bits & is near wholly uninterested in a Now You Are 18 watch - and of course only said this two hours in. Having bitten the lemon, we are now trying to find a portable useful personal Thing that is not a watch. (Tough gig!)Emporium Walton le Dale in fact Preston but still has the coffee. Also a dashed handsome selection of bar dark chocolate which I shall make a point of revisiting, After Lent.Birdsong in the morning. Let the media gibber about lipid membranes, this lot have spring to be getting on with!Right. The Fates have landed us in an all time wonderful OS pleasure spotting opportunity albeit with a possibly target poor environment. Hoping to be proved wrong there! May there be health strength love & courage to be found when reached for, in abundance as needed, and did you know both that the Flintstones song is over 20 seconds & that the first line of Milton's Paradise Lost ("Of Man's First Disobedience, and the Fruit Of that Forbidden Tree") also fits the music? If I'm going hand to hand with soap, repeatedly, I definitely enjoy a range of things to sing, and frankly if anyone objects they can drown me out with something more interesting. Willing to learn!

It is no longer a ...
Notts Cty. Down where they belong. Remember when the mighty mariners lost again cheltsslum in playoff, following year cheltsslum were relegated, only for Notts to say they played the season bust!
Now that wes sore ted that, on with some more of your versions of the Life of BoP
Just bins out to the veterans brakefest. Snorker, best back, pud of black, grilled tom, brown hash and some tatties! Tea was drunked. Nice banter and wes weres noting that at the local CoOp people must has enuff of the bum wipe to be nice and clean, butt!
Got home to Raffles sunbathing in the yard, and sore ted the towels out to dry. All dry to the yellow thing inn the sky. Had usual lunch with extra berry of blues in it. Proper digestives and a wafer!
Got a trip to Bristol the morning, more later.
Just popped back inn and mes holiday company rangs! Never mind, but wes wants the refund! Not off P's wes not going and you lots will miss the BoP Tour updates, but ...
Was in A!D1 this morn, and they had bog roles. Again. Yet still the idiots were getting four packs! Why!
Now I is asked about the things. Wens we were filling aircraft up with famine supplies back inn 84, we went of with our 48 hour pack, nowing the 5 day packs were on the weigh. Bog Paper was like a pack of the pocket tissue for too days. You ate proper, carped once and had enough! So why was the cupid stunt inn from buying 16 packets of ham?, 4 lots of 4? I would hate to see peoples waste food bucket this weak! No, it is why theys got so much tissue.
So has enough for 48 hours inn fresh, and 5 days of tins of SpagYETTI ! Raffl;es is sorting his own supplies out inn his new of crested grates pool!
Acceptance of the fact that BoP is correct!
Be careful of the hills, the fools are on them!

Good evening all, pleasures for yesterday....still no lie-in so I had to look for the pleasures elsewhere
Day off from the paid stuff
Was at the garden centre as it opened. Bought one bag of compost and came home to look for seeds. I found them in the shed which is where I thought I'd put them
Repotted some plants that have been growing on the window sill over winter. Lemon seedling, cob nut seedling (both mine) and two chilli plants that were given to me by a friend in November. Also planted tomato seeds and some lettuce seeds from my stash then another cob nut because friend wants one now and some dodgy plum stones (from the same friend as the chilli plants) that have been in the fridge since November.
Cheesy beans on toast for lunch
Ironing all done and in my own time rather than racing to finish it before work
Online gaming and long chat with best friend (he of the chilli plants and plum stones. I'll let him off with those because he bought the cob nuts just because I wanted to plant one to see if it would grow).6 -
Hello. Bed time.
As our social event was on about half an hour after Boris made his announcements we went ahead with a staff ‘night in’ . Had takeaway and chatter. And as we’ve all been working in close proximity anyway...
several plans for today were cancelled which actually suited me just fine. Pottered around house. Hung out three loads of laundry which were almost dried before the rain came . Thankfully got it in before the downpours.
went to supermarket this morning for fresh food.
had a bit of a headache but think it’s probably caffeine withdrawal! I’m off the hard stuff!Colleague picked me up and dropped me off.
Good chat with DD1 this morning.11 -
Greetings all from a wet and windy Dundee.
1) hm chili casserole for lunch with rice
2) we decided as a team that we could decide whether we wanted to work at home or in the office, but MUST put on an ooo reply if we're off sick or off on annual leave
3) got a lift home from a friend - good cos it was wet and windy. She stayed for a cuppa and admired my new curtains.
4) walked down to station with boys to meet dd2 off the train. She's been to see her bf in London. caught up with mum on the phone while walking down (it's a good half hour walk each way)
5) hm chili casserole with pasta for supper and one final portion for lunch tomorrowMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

1 I did some electronic sorting out, finally getting all the photo’s into one place.
2 More sorting out another box of stuff actually thrown out, another big bag of clothes ready for a CS, actually made good progress but not finished yet.
3 I did a stock take of cupboards and tins, and meal planned, I dug out Jackie0’s misers cookbook for inspiration.
4 I’m not sure this is a pleasure but DH and I had a serious conversation about what if we do both shuffle and so far haven’t got any further as we just don’t know but I guess a pleasure to talk.
5 All the neighbours talking to us asking what we are doing and in short together we all don’t know, still a pleasure to keep an eye on everyone.
