Bother, Mhags....
Welcome HappyCas
SiL looks like she has it. THough hopefully not too badly but enough to put her in bed. I was with her just over a week ago, so we shall see...
Pleasures must be found
1. Yoga - may be the last for a while. Sensible precautions were taken.
2. MiL (88) has reacted philosophically to her house arrest. Family are rallying with 'things' - like a phone call rota from the grandchildren, shopping delivery.
3. OH, DS and I watched a film - there is likely to be much more of that..
4. Finished drafting the first half of my thesis, sort of. 10 pages of yuk need revisiting today.
5. the washing (likely to be more of that too)
DS's 21st birthday tomorrow. Will be a bit more staid than it might have been.
I wanna be in the room where it happens12 -
Afternoon all. I work in a cafe so had the call this morning that I'm now on unpaid leave for the forseeable. As I'm in the high risk group this is OK with me but given that people have been told to stay away from our 30-40 seater cafe I'm not sure why the HT can go to school and mingle with 1400 other children. I know children are supposedly less at risk from complications but some of them have vulnerable families. My sister says schools in Ireland are closed and my friend in Norway says the same. I was thinking that years 8, 9 and 10 could be released which would lessen the risk for teachers and those taking GCSEs. Any children from other years with able and willing carers at home already could also be released.
Anyhow, pleasures for yesterday....
HT in a good mood
Normal grocery shop done. All items present and correct.
After work and school respectively, the HT and I cleaned and refilled the bird feeders
Text chat with my sister. We are both still glad that she didn't go to New York
Reprogramming the central heating to come on less - it's not needed as much now it's warmed up a bit.
Mhags, I hope you and Dd are OK, and same for you and yours VJs.
Take care all of you

1 Picked up our prescriptions, and had a natter at a distance, combined with going to Aldee, what a mare, more of a case of hmm we did want that thou, but managed to pick up a few bits.
2 I am really pleased with tidying progress, don’t get me wrong I have lots to go, but I can see progress today, 2 more boxes cleared out, space created and used. Next I’ve decided which 2 more boxes to be cleared out tomorrow, and where they are I have 2 boxes of material they will move to where the other stuff has been cleared from.
3 I have found pet hospital that is 24hours and is happy to take our ferrets onto their books. So now we just need to build up trust again but fingers crossed, it’s quite frankly quite a find.
4 A pasta bake is cooking for tea packed with veg and chickpeas, as the things I got out of the freezer for meal planning as still frozen solid- ops.
5 Seeing tulips and spring bulbs starting up in the front garden.

Hello. Just came to bed as I’ve kind of done with the day!My work is still open for now but I won’t be there so won’t be paid. But I’m grateful for living simply and having a back up of savings as I don’t really spend all my wages usually. So we’ll manage and have enough food in cupboard/freezer to do us. Haven’t particularly overshopped but I’m glad I bought an extra bag of dog food!DD2 poorly. Says it feels like it did when she would have tonsillitis ( ‘cept she’s not got them anymore) whether it’s CV or just a random virus we are doing as advised and self isolating. So I got washings out and they had a good blow but got them in before the rain came on.
painted a couple of bedside tables I’d bought second hand last week. Had leftover paint ( farrow & ball oval room blue) they look better than they did & are for DD2 room. Then did the downstairs loo in same colour. But need masking tape to finish it properly.
managed a little doggy walk without encountering anyone. And before the rain came on heavy.
made mince & potatoes (leftover potatoes) but only used half the pack of mince. Carrots and peas.Nice chat with DD1.Phone call to mother (who managed to make it all about her 😬) she’s got enough of everything for now . A suggestion was made that she call her son if she needed anything!Hope everyone else is okay x13 -
Wow mhags impressed by your business

2) last of my chilli chickpea casserole for lunch
3) email from the principal - only essential staff in from tomorrow so guess I’m home working
4) vestry was on - spent much of discussion talking about how we can continue community online ow church services are suspended

Tuesday pleasures
Dry, reasonably warm day 😁 but no real sunshine 🙁
Nice chat with neighbour - has offered eggs if we need & cannot get them 😇. *
Long chat with student in the rental house next door - DSis was able to help her out with a bag of sanitary products (I know tmi 😱) She is worrying about oral exams which have been cancelled & not yet rearranged. *
DH went to MrS & managed to get some pasta 🥳 but no tp & no lentils & no potatoes & no eggs & no tins of coffee ☹️ but managed to get everything else on the list I gave him.
I went to MrA - lots & lots of empty shelves but managed to get most of what was on my list or substitutes. Unfortunately no lentils or tp or milk.
re the above - I am rather pleased that I was prepping for Br*x*t (thread started by cuddlymarm 👏) - it is making this whole ‘challenge’ quite a bit easier on the food & cleaning front. The neighbour who was recently diagnosed with C. is still on course for his treatment - best news of the day.Saw the robin & our 2 regular magpies.
Mushroom & chicken risotto for dinner - 🤤 & even DH liked it although he is not usually a fan 😉
Being lucky enough to have found you all 👏
* proper distancing 😃

Pleasure for today (Tuesday)
1) Off to the museum. Got quite a lot done but no idea if people will be there next week or if it will close to the public for a while. Very surreal for all of us, like being in a film!
2) Hens OK.
3) Went to see my school friend for a cup of tea. Sadly, the little business where I get my hen food from has closed down - I stopped on the way to get some.
4) Went to Lidl and there was very little at all. Got some smoked fish, nice burgers (no bread!), grapes and cleaning sponges.
5) Tasty enough tea of Spanish chicken and PSB.
6) Applied for a job. What a farce! Site kept refreshing and wiping my work so I ended up doing it in Word, cutting and pasting at top speed then bashing the send button! Obviously, then noticed the crashing typo...Took 2.5 hours.

Hope all get well soon.
1. Phoned my parents. They are home from their 3 month stay away. They are going shopping first thing this morning and will let DS2 know if they can't get everything and then may share a neighbours regular home delivery. They seem positive about being self isolating for 3 months.
2. Very little traffic on the roads. Makes my journey home so much quicker.
3. Work is interesting. From Monday will be having telephone consultation with patients and then triaging whether they need to come into the hospital. At the moment can then rearrange the appointment. I will be one of the people seeing the patients as I don't have young children!
4. Chat with a friend on the bus home.
5. Cooked toad in the hole followed by crumble and custard.9 -
Marnin all
Worried about suffolk sue, hope she's doing OK
pleasures for yesterday
1. made my rubbish 10 pages of thesis into a slightly less rubbish 8. Still needs work, i fear, but might have to wait till after the viva as part of the corrections - time is running out.
2. DS loved his therapy - proper hypnosis this time. Is thinking of investigating it as a potential career
3. The last episode of 'Hidden' - tied up nicely considering we know who did it from the first second
4. Talking to current uni about a potential .5 contract after the summer - also being paid to stay at home. That's 4 hours i'll save in travelling time. Still have to do the work though
5. hmm, might have to bank 5 - mainly cos i just sat and typed....
Have a good day all - DS's 21st today, we're going walking and then ordering in pizza.I wanna be in the room where it happens8 -
GWS wishes winging to Mhags & family.
For yesterday,
A walk around the village distributing leaflets.
Chill bean soup for lunch.
A warm, sunny afternoon and riding my pony without a coat, dreaming of summer.
Plans made for what I want to achieve by autumn equinox, Ostara / the spring one is this weekend and I intend to have reached my goals by the end of all this.
Online chats with friends and DN, best bit about technology is how easily we can all stay in touch.9
