PK hope your ferret recovers
For last couple of days
1. Met a friend at work, unexpectedly, had a catch up.
2. Free lunch at work. Always good. Also a free coffee.
3. Buses were all on time.
4. Answered questions on Mastermind, Only Connect and University Challenge.
5. DS2 cooked which was good.
6. Finished all the ironing.10 -
Frith - are you watching Hidden?
PK - good healing vibes winging their way to ferret
CHunicorn - glad you had a good first day
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Got a lift to the station so I could sit with a coffee. Was running round like a blue arrissed fly and needed to sit..
2. Trains went t!t$ up, but for once I was not affected. Didn't start to do so until I had reached London. Knew that it was a mess so checked before I left uni, yep train was cancelled. So I hopped across to Marylebone, straight onto a train headed my way, then quick walk between stations and hopped straight on another home. OH picked me up and I was only 20 minutes later than if my train had run.
3. Walking was done, however. Walked from Euston to the Phoenix theatre to buy DD a ticket for Come From Away. She'd had vouchers for Christmas that she couldn't use online so I was able to go in person. Lovely walking through London and lovely thinking that my coat was surplus to requirements.
4. Supervision went OK. I've certainly had worse. I have 7 weeks left and they are certain that I can do it.
5. OH's friend came for the night - they are off to Slovakia today. The only thing we know he can eat safely is steak - so it was steak night... and had some lovely wine with it.
Have a good day all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
Thanks Mhags, at time of writing have whittled it down to either a Kitchenaid or a Kenwood, both have excellent reviews on Which so now it’s just down to personal taste and have to say kitchenaid wins hands down on looks, what was it that W Morris said 😊
For yesterday,
Listening to this on the way to the yard, beautiful prose and one of the most listenable voices in the world https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p07xnbd8
Although blowing a hooley it was mild enough to work girlie without a coat on, enjoyed my riding today.
Not a pleasure as such but driving home and ping comes a warning light on the mini, both indicators on one side plus brake lights, luckily on driving side so could at least stick my arm out of the window when necessary.
Family meal out to celebrate youngest niece’s 21st, Turkish restaurant we haven’t been to before but will go again, tasty food and nice atmosphere.
Such occasions are always bittersweet without her Dad, my big bro, but I know he would be immensely proud of the wonderful young lady she has grown into.

Working from home next week. Very lucky to have responsible employers.
Weather still mixed, hoping to sow some seeds at the weekend.
Good friends asking if I had supplies as I am working. I usually have good stores as I live in a small village, so no thank you.
A glass of wine with my dinner last night. What a treat on a Tuesday.
Yellow roses in the kitchen. Beautiful

Hello. A day at work. Not crazy busy but kept going and absolutely fabulous tips!Had planned on walking this morning but it was pouring so drove. Then had to nip into town to pick up a birthday gift for a colleague ( from all of us) ...sat in car for an extra 5 minutes so I didn’t have to pay for a parking ticket! Got there at 4.55pm.Nipped into M&S for a card and picked up some rather yummy rtc lemon tart...eating as I type this!Lovely welcome from my doggy. We had extra snuggles before I left this morning.
Being glad the parcel ‘in brown bin ‘ was wrapped in plastic! Because the brown bin is full of muddy, weedy, old flowers!11 -
Good evening all, pleasures for yesterday...
No paid stuff so home alone in peace if you don't count the house wrecking cat
I made things in the kitchen. I batch cooked butter chicken for me and made the HT a tin of brownies
The postman delivered somrthing for the HT which had our name and street but no house number. I always say hello to the postie when I see him - being polite and friendly pays off because he knew which house was ours.
I'm better from my cold
A couple of hours spent doing some of project five (knitting) and I also started project six (crochet). I'll go back to two and three when these are finished.

Pleasures for last 2 days:
swimming felt a little easier with my aching back
lunch with old HT who gave me a job 30 years ago! She has moved into a lovely retirement flat
took my 89 year old neighbour to see Military Wives at the Odeon Luxe. Good film and we were both very comfortable in our reclining seats. Only 6 of us in the cinema (afternoon screening)
kitchen/dining room slowly progressing and I cooked a lovely chicken stir fry on my new induction hob this evening 😊8 -
Pleasures for today (Wednesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Museum day today.
3) Hens OK.
4) Survived day 3 of BSD.
5) Watched the episodes of The Split until I got to the end!

We phoned the vets at 7am, and they were pleased and quite smitten she was eating and drinking, then at 7.30 we got a call to say she had passed away. We are gutted, she was only 7 months old. I have to say I did wonder about a PM, but it doesn’t seem right as it doesn’t change anything.
1 Sort of a pleasure the vets inked a footprint for us, very kind. I will get a little frame for it, I just wish my writing was better.
2 Beautiful blue skies and seeing peoples magnolia trees coming out.
3 We did go out, it was very odd, we needed fresh veg and milk and wanted one of the Costco offers so went over the bridge, we stopped at home bargains for the veg and to say it was heaving is an understatement, I would later suss out it is literally the only shop that had kitchen and loo roll. Costc0 was an eye opener, literally nothing in stock but they were canny and had put other stock in the empty spaces, So we couldn’’t get the offer book thing we went for which we use for animal cleaning. I don’t understand the whole mentality out there, people were also noticeably
4 Pizza slice for dinner as I cba.
5 The animals giving a lot of love and cuddles when needed.

oh gosh. so sorry PK.
Thought the water board was coming today so decided to give kitchen and bathroom deep clean. they cancelled. never mind as things are extra sparkly.
had some mushrooms and onions to use so fried them in butter and white pepper (didn't fancy black) and then chucked a can of baked beans in. really nice, very fattening. especially as they/it was accompanied with bangers and mash.
that's it. wish i had more but hip really hurting and worrying news on home front. my brother is not doing so well and am at a loss to help him. he is depressed, has severe learning difficulties, needs a job. will spend sunday with him..........see if i can brainstorm something. it's making me feel down as there is alot more going on but not my place to share.
