Pleasures for weekend:
loads of washing done now have a working washing machine and managed to get some dry outside☀️!
cooked Sunday roasties in new oven and some rock cakes as promised the builders something if they got the oven up and running. Couldn’t manage anything more adventurous as most equipment and ingredients still packed away in garage.
new oak worktops look lovely but using them is a bit scary as any drop of water marks e.g. cup rings from what I thought were dry cups. Any suggestions? Do they need more oil?
lovely clean bedding, just wish I could get better sleep!

Been away for a few days in Istanbul and not posted or read.
Ampersand it's great what the rugby club is doing and the help it offers. Enjoyed the article too.
1. Loved Istanbul - weather was ok but the city was great. Very different sections to it.
2. Enjoyed the food nothing fancy but good and cheap.
3. Interesting history to the city.
4. Manic car drivers and traffic in parts of city.but peaceful in other areas.
5. Found an Irish bag to watch England rugby.
6. Amazed at amount of people having hair transplant surgery and nose jobs there.
7. Neighbours have us a cockerel while we were away which they had found.13 -
Great pic DD.
Beautiful crochet Cranky.
For yesterday,
Lazy start followed by bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge.
Worked in the garden and in the sun it was relatively warm.
Lunch was turkey & veg pie plus made some mince pies with lo pastry, Capt S had a couple with custard for his afters.
Afternoon walk with small dog, home just as big full moon was rising on one horizon and sun setting on other. We have a solitary starling that visits the garden and he was sitting on the chimney cowling singing into the dusk, perhaps after a mate.
Small dog thoroughly enjoyed the agility classes at Crufts and was especially pleased when a chocolate working c*cker won, her Mum was wondering if she could build a course in the garden, some broomsticks and flower pots would do it.......12 -
HOw nice to 'see' you DD
Lovely blankie, Cranky (i'm a poet and...)
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Quick dog walk and then to the pub for breakfast - SiL's house is sooooo disgusting I really didn't want to eat there... her treat so even better
2. back to work. I love SiL dearly and owe her a lot but my goodness she is hard to pin down and get her to concentrate. I am googling symptoms of ADHD ..
3. did have to eat a sandwich at hers for lunch - but I checked it for cat hairs first
4. train home - it eventually arrived. I had to walk back from the station but it had stopped raining. It actually was quite pleasurable walking in the dark, something I used to do a lot.
5. Home! SHowered off the dog and the cat! Clean jammies and a late tea of Begg..
6. My bed!
Have a good day all...
I wanna be in the room where it happens13 -
Oh Bala you’re post about Tiggy brought a tear to my eye. You sound like such a wonderful dog mama and Tiggy is so lucky to have you.
Pleasures for Saturday:
Watched Meet the Richardson (Jon is so like Mr U it’s quite funny) and I’ve listened to Jake Thackray Lah Di Dah on repeat ever since.
Wore my lovely pink shoes. I’ve not worn them for months since the weather has been so awful. They’re from Primark and I’m so in love with them I bought two pairs!
Used a voucher I got for Christmas for an amazing dessert place. We had waffles and pancakes with lots of chocolate for dipping. We brought home a doggy bag and enjoyed the waffles again on Sunday. So yummy!
A good catch up at work with a colleague I don’t see very often. She’s always full of good advice so it was nice to have some time to chat
Pleasures for Sunday:
A really good sleep after my nightshift which is rather unusual for me
Sweet chilli chicken thighs from Aldi for tea
Deciding I really didn’t need to go to the shops today so had a super lazy day pottering around in my pyjamas until it was time to go back out to work
Finished my portfolio for work. Glad to see the back of it and I’ll definitely start next year’s as soon as possible as I can’t face the stress of all that again.

We haven’t been to the shops since the panic buying started, I am curious as to what tomorrow will show.
1 I cleaned the downstairs windows with vinegar and newspaper, it took a lot longer than I allowed as they needed some work, I swear I was wearing most of the news print.
2 The garden birds were quing up this morning, and we had a very rare here visitor of a bullfinch.3 So we are de junking the junk room, today I took down the curtains and nets, through the wash and cleaned up the windows and sill, then cut off the bit of net rail that broke and got away with it thankfully. We can’t get away without painting the room, which I do admit I was hoping not to have to, but we will but a fair bit to do before then.
4 I went to list a few items but the market it literally awash with corner units, it’s a shame as it’s nicely made, but I think we will give it away. Which means I will take out our built in lighting.
5 Ordering in tonight.

Good evening all, pleasures for yesterday.....
Ironing all done before work
Started project five - a baby blanket in pink pom pom wool
Work was ok and passed fairly quickly. Another 4 hours with my head over the sink and my cold has more or less gone.
Driving home from work in sunshine. It wasn't that long ago that leaving work at 4pm meant driving home in the dark.
Couple of hours chatting to best friend while online gaming.
P_k I went to tesc0 today (I had an £8 off £40 spend voucher - I usually shop elsewhere). There wasn't any pasta. Found some in Home B@rg@ins so not that bothered (the HT takes it to school for his lunch every day) but goodness knows why it's being stockpiled. The only other thing that I noticed that was missing was plain flour.

Home & pottered around.
Round to the mothers. Chores and phone calls.
Home in rainy weather but thankfully missed the downpours.
Made spag bol for tea.13
