Hope you're OK, MHags.
A non-pleasure today is just now, getting ready for bed, managed to get a bra hook and eye embedded right up my fingernail as I took the damned thing off! What a mess and stunningly painful.
1) A lie in.
2) Porridge for me and hens.
3) Did a roast dinner - pork, roast pots and swede, carrots, peas, braised red cabbage, Yorkshire puddings, stuffing and gravy. A bit left for sandwiches.
4) Watched TV after tea.
5) Almost prepared for monthly meeting tomorrow. Lets hope no one shouts at me at length this time!

Reading about the Battle of Lincoln 1141 and being able to picture the buildings mentioned after visiting the city a couple of years ago, makes a story more alive iykwim.
DSIL and partner arrived for lunch, good company as always, ate and drunk too much but still considered birthday celebrations so allowed ☺️
A much needed evening walk with small dog, pretty sunset.
Receiving some good news from OL friends, nice start to the month.

Hugs, Mhags, anniversaries are hard..
Pleasures for yesterday
1. OH and DS had a good day at Wembley, even though the Villa lost
2. washing partially dried on the line - nice to hang some out again
3. bought a new to me bedside table with drawers. Will be upcycled and used as a side table in the conservatory - the drawers are needed to hide DS's Hornby trains
4. I think I now have shingles (it's one damn thing after another - this PhD is trying to kill me, I fear) but I thought it was something digestive (have a very tender LHS of tummy) but now have a rash. I've had it before, decades ago and this is in the same place (which I gather is the only way you can get it again). Anyhoo, the pleasure is that I ate properly to cure my imagined tummy issue - salmon and scrambled egg, low carb pancakes and a veggie dinner - and I think that, at least, did me good.
5. Watched one and a half episodes of Flesh and Blood - 1 1/2 to go.
have a good evening all...
I wanna be in the room where it happens12 -
Today's pleasures.....
Brilliant sunrise, absolutely gorgeous, seen near the end of my night shift. How can my co-workers not appreciate the beauty of the sunrise?
Arriving home this morning. It was a looonnnggg night but it's done now.
The ecstatic welcome from dog and cats.
Bracing walk with dog and for once she was the one concentrating on her ball while a couple of springer spaniels chased her. The tables turned.
Porridge and coffee for breakfast then shower and change of clothes. I usually go straight to bed for a few hours but today I stayed awake because I had choir practice.
Choir practice in the church itself because the hall was in use for music exams. The sound of Jess Glynne's I'll Be There And John Legend's All of Me was amazing, the acoustics transformed the songs into something magical.
Egg mayonnaise sarnies for lunch, to use up excess eggs. And cheese and onion crisps. Well, I wasn't entertaining houseguests.
Dossing and dozing on the sofa this afternoon.
Phone call from son, he's coming home weekend after next for a visit.
Pizza dough whizzing around in the bread maker. All because I picked up some reduced price mozzarella yesterday.
Watching The Pioneer Woman on telly while my kitten curls up on my lap and the dog watches him like a hawk.
The anticipation of frosty, sunny days this week.
One life - your life - live it!12 -
Hello. It’s still daylight . Hurrah!Rubbish sleep but that’s par for the course. So always a relief when it’s an appropriate time to get up.
Soggy doggy walk this morning. I’m so over mud!Went to Lidl. Not been in a while but got so much for my money so shall need to start going back. It’s a pain as it’s way the other side of town whereas as T is far too handy and I can walk there. Met two friends of my sisters from years ago and chatted to them for blooming ages!
Then went to TK Max and spent a blooming mini fortune! However it was lots of nice things for DD2 birthday tomorrow. And a new Easter bowl for me. I’d left my specs in the car so couldn’t read very well!Home...hello doggy how lovely to see you until I went upstairs and saw that he’d also been upstairs! I was furious with DD2 (regardless of birthday tomorrow) as he’d raked through all her rubbish she’d just left on her floor. Was also furious with dog but he’d been and done it and was on to the next thing so wasn’t sure why he was being shouted at!Very breezy dog walk and then he went on sofa ( which thankfully I’d just put throws on) with the filthiest paws imaginable! More fury! Hung out a washing and then went round to my mothers. Who in the space of two days is untidy again! Had to do a couple of phone calls on her behalf then came home.Home. Where the dog had been shut in the living room ( everywhere else is open plan) so he’d just slept for the hour and was none the wiser for his earlier wrong-doings!Washing brought in just as a shower of rain came on. Was almost dried.Lasagne for tea with the never ending parsnips and leftover potatoes from work!12
