What a journey Frith!
for yesterday,
Capt S up early as had last minute request for lift from eldest so just me and small dog for bacon.
A nearby recycling bin had blown over and with no one around until Monday the clean up was down to me, worked off me brekkie anyway.
My rtc scented narcissi.
My beloved got home and we enjoyed a late roast dinner, made doubly delicious for my man due to his football team’s last minute winner.
Watched and enjoyed Iolo’s Snowdonia, this week’s season was Autumn.12 -
Miword this weather! Perfect half term weather - wet enough to keep those who should be studying at their books, not so wet the toddlers can't find puddles to leap into. A bit variable by region, mind.VJsmum, that kettle worries me the same way folding cups do - what happens if a fold starts when it's full? Let alone heating the thing - I know, you can boil water in a paper bag but yikes... Marking or housework - I'd make the same call. Very glad OH returning to himself post colonoscopy - restarted all the fun foods?SuffolkSue - I think you're Amazing. How's the new hoist settling in? Ah yes, loo roll holders. Unquestioning sympathy. Reassure me it is only shed under tarp, not house?PaulieHerts - the epic posts are a happy reflection of all posters astounding doings (when I have the puff & the tech) & I've not making it to any exercise classes at all... At least houses can be fixed, albeit with much ingenuity &/or money.Frith - I do love the idea of an annual Valentine's Day tea at Ikea. Ah yes, sons & laundry. Home made shortbread? Yum! Miword your photos. Superb driving by you! Brecon police advice "don't travel anywhere" makes more sense.Bala - hurrah your mum, both as a lovely human & a navigationally challenged one. Dad closing his shop - owch.villagelife - the rugby... Coffee, catch-up & cake - brilliant! Potting on wallflowers - awed - I still have to weed the herb garden.Jazee - a good audience is a wonderful thing!LaineyT - kneading is a special magic, stick at the curries as curcumin (in turmeric) is good stuff. (Himself, not one for the folded card industry, bought me a Denby teapot of a pattern he knows I have a near compulsive affection for.) Love the sparrow squadron bathing in a puddle. Recycling is less bad to clear up than other rubbish but it does blow over more easily.MrsLurcherwalker - start 'em young on rugby! Yum, leek & potato soup. Zebra wants a "whale keyring" for his schoolbag?Cranky - you & HT have the priorities sorted. Mac'n'cheese and garlic bread at home sounds delcious. A good neighbour is a very special pleasure.BoP - check for cheap chocs - dead right! Snorkers & onions - you remind me I must drop in on the really nice butcher to ensure the chaps eat properly.mhagster - congratulations on a day off done thoroughly (how many seasons have you caught up on?!) Hoping RL didn't interfere too hard. And then back up to full speed - yikes & wow & an extra supermarket for digestive biscuits but proper line drying....Nargleblast - awed at redecoration of living room and hurrah Rock goddess performing live!DundeeDoll - glad uncle's funeral was the happy event & massive family catch-up it should be, & superb timing acquiring books before the rain sheets down. Blimey that carvery sounds well organised - is it part of a chain (asks she hopefully)?Mrs_Salad_Dodger - no pleasure in a solid wallop but hurrah not havng to go out & sorting all kitchen drawers.House_Elf_2 - Happy Half Term! Absolutely right to just Stop, too. Lamb for tea is a very special pleasure.ampersand - the snickering over the Rotherham Bugle has spread around family & office! Pilou? flannelette?! While forum changes are ergle, I'm finding different machines show different info, phone infuriating, desktop brilliant (relatively.)Purple_kitten - hurrah steak, Drat laptop.OS pleasures recentlySpaghetti Bolognese! With ciabatta rolls for the awkward squad (who cooked the bolognese & is therefore indulged.)I renewed the car insurance. Pleasure it’s sorted. For me, driving, April is indeed the cruellest month.Re-reading Rumer Godden’s “Dark Horse”. Short, but glorious.Geeking out (& crooning) over The Child/Baby Yoda memes. What can I say? The little green SF&F critter is cute, as well as strong in the Force!Using language to make the Six Nations competitors seem saintly as I move boxes of Denby with an unreliable knee & inadequate packaging or painkillers. That latter may have prevented me from doing serious further harm to the knee but anyone eavesdropping needs to decontaminate their soul. Pleasure is its done for the time being.Made my parents laugh. Dad off to Doha (without any travel insurance) having discussed this & agreed it with mum. I see them day after tomorrow & will be seeking a wholesale supplier of China dogs (see Dylan Thomas’ The Outing) to equip mum to express her opinion more clearly. Where to find cheap fake Staffordshire hounds?!Meters read. Which triggered a reset of the router as I unplugged it by accident, but son awed at my troubleshooting skills!Jabberwocked, him and his missus, her dripping tears on me. She then sat by Himself so when I lugged food over he was (politely) rigid. We fled elsewhere to shop... The good news is the memorial thing is moving.Oh Hobbycraft - “Get your home ready for warmer weather” as areas are flooded & making national news....It’s half term! Engineer & I at work, everyone else snuggled under duvets. Pleasure is that I can grin at how much eBay prep they’ve done, be it sock all or loads!Office over the road from Coop so can resupply on tea without comment (likely or notice) from family... [Down to last box, mild panic.]One of my favourite writers Bill Gibson interviewing well - I've always liked how he sees Artificial IntelligenceCherished colleague back from celebrating Chinese New Year - there has been much (terribly English) unspoken anxiety at the ongoing radio silence, and then she arrived Late (unheard of!) but her team are happier than a litter of puppies at mealtime to have her back.As usual, health strength love & courage to all as have need. Along with bonus weather proofing, cooperative insurance companies & may Ellen hold off for a while!14

Friths. get your wellies on!
One for the Toad!
The cricket was good! Then the gooners. Good weakened for the BoP, and the hatters as well!
Now onto your version for the life of BoP!
Pan fired snorkers and onions were grate yesterday for tea. Served with minted tatties and pan gravy, rite proper nice and good for you.
Had a crash inn the yard, rotating BiPlane has come off its stand. Never mind, will fix later, with gutter. That is all the damage! Be careful of the puddles! And keep out of the stream.
No gym this evening, but may has some fish and string beens for dinner. More later on proper foods from BoP.
Inn the Lunch box of BoP this weak we has celery, cucumber, pepper, onion, a piece of pork pie, too cheeses, LieStir Red and apple of smoked wood. Strawbs and berries, and an orange. Proper tea is drunk at the mill!
I has not had a BoP games nite for a while such as Live Scrabble! Mmm Please remember that BoPsie is only one win away from the chance of playing for too on the bounce!
Now is that it from BoP Bites this day.
I see the box of ogles has taken another? The goldfish bowl on life. Well back in 82, as yous are aware, I stopped watching the tv news at 21:33Z 1982-05-03! There was a programme later that year that was as irrelevant as are todays reality. The Young Ones! No we watched Simon’s War! There is much talk of being brave. My comrade in arms brother was laid on RFA Sir Galahad on 21st June 1982. Welsh Guards. Simon is only three months older than BoP!
Don’t waste it! Be careful when the puppeteer cuts the strings?

Quick check-in to also recommend The Parcel Yard at Kings Cross. Just beyond the Harry Potter store. It's roomy, no-one hurrying us, lovely free loos with handcream (to my mind always a good thing). The whole place is done with original railway stuff and the meals are enormous. Mum and I had planned our journey to have a leisurely lunch here. We've had a cuppa and now looking at the lunch menu. We're 2nd class going home so have brought sarnies with us for tea

DfV it is the shed not the house
awaiting engineer for hoist ,the rechargeable battery is only holding charge for an hour ,they’re coming tomorrow but stress levels ( both of us are up)in case it decides not to play nicely at all .
Not thinking about the what ifs ( trying v hard ) ,leaving it charging unless using ( it won’t work whilst plugged in I’ve tried )
sure it will be fine🤞12 -
D for V it's not you understand a schoolbag with a lock on it but it's a fad with his class mates to have a couple of fluffy small assorted animals in key ring chains to hang from the zip pull and he wanted one for his birthday and I got him one with a photo of a whale as he hadn't explained the 'fluffy' aspect to his Oma!
The rain finally stopped and we got out for a walk mainly in the sunshine this afternoon with only a couple of small showers at points in it.
Wild daffs round the lake in prolific bloom, just lovely.
Cold sausage and pickle sandwiches for lunch. Haute cuisine it's not BUT it was jolly tasty.
HWK has painted the wall in the new conservatory and got the first coat of white on the new solid ceiling, it looks just as I want it to.
Planning a trip out to look at kitchens that are currently available to see if there's anything that meets my mental image of how I'd like it to look.

VJsmum - yes, we couldn't work out why so many emergency vehicles were driving past here when the road was shut. And a helicopter. We knew they had found the man but they had to give up the search for the lady yesterday and re-start today. That is our nearest bridge over the Teme and it actually collapsed a few years ago and had been re-built.
Pleasures for today (Monday).
1) Got bigger son back to work, 24 hours late! The A49 still shut and the final few miles of lanes were just proud of the floods with water stretching out for miles either side of the road.
2) Somehow managed to drive back from there and to the museum by 10am! Got quite a lot done there.
3) Hens OK.
4) Ikea meatballs and sauce for tea.
5) Watching Apollo 13.
6) Bigger son is now at the Norfolk site of his work and off to France tomorrow.
