Suffolk Sue - about 15 miles from my house and 5 miles from where bigger son should be at work this week. The worst flooding in the country today is Ludlow (in pics) and Tenbury, where we go to the cinema!
Sorry the photos are so big. Another forum problem is that my typing is very light grey so I can't see what I'm typing!
Pleasures for today (Sunday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hens OK.
3) Didn't manage to float the car in our 3 hours of fording floods.
4) Back home with bigger son then did little apart from cook and watch Back to the Future.
5) Bigger son is now at games night with my brother and brother in law.

Hello. So, so windy here though mostly dry today.
Up early.
Went to M supermarket with DD2. I’d a roll & sliced sausage. Chatted to DD1.
Had a £3 off £30 spend. Today was the last day. Got some plants for garden and 2 bunches of daffodils Rtc to 5p. DD2 got stuff too. I’d to buy birthday balloons. Managed to spend enough between us.
Very quick home then changed & out for an extra shift at work. We’d a catering event.
Then walked to mothers. Did what needed doing.
Extremely blustery walk home.
Quick nip to T as oddly M didn’t have own brand digestive biscuits! Bought 4 very reduced hydrangea plants for what was the original price of one. Rather pleased as I’d admired them already.
Home and made cupcakes, individual pavlovas & 2 x cheesecake bases. Have a ‘do’ tomorrow.
Made pasta for tea.
Called friend for chat.Oh and my washing was blown dry today! Felt like an achievement!DFV my patio was kindly cleaned by a friend’s husband. She had volunteered him 😁 . He had a pressure hose & patio cleaning chemicals (B and Q ) it looks fabulous!13 -
1 Some amazing kindle deals, keeps me happy and the place a little less cluttered with books..
2 Using up leftover bits and bobs, but had a lovely steak, it’s been ages since I’ve cooked up a steak, it was a nice change
3 I’m not sure this is a pleasure, the laptop lost most of my writing ideas compiled over time, it apparently had not been saving it! Racking my brains and I can’t remember it all, so time for more fresh ideas, and I’m looking into a talk text app playing with it tonight to see if I can get it working so far no joy with it.
4 Did a few volunteer bits, helping with some sandbags over the weekend.
5 Animal snuggles help re arrange everything.

Good Morning Folks,
Frith: The walk down the garden to let the hens out is squelchy enough! I hope the waters start receding soon. I remember it flooding badly when I was at Worcester Uni, and it was like driving through a giant lake for about a week.
Yesterday
1. Shopping in Mr W...........I only go if I have coupons.
2. A full fridge and freezer, as I also had a coupon from Mr T.
3. More lolling about on the sofa, as we are still not over the cold.
4. DH ordered a pair of binoculars so we can watch the birds on the bird feeders more closely. I am sitting on the sofa in the extension, waiting for it to get light, so I can give them a try.
5. Lamb for tea. It does not happen very often in this house!
6. Call the Midwife.
Have a lovely day 🙂In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)

1. Spent time in the greenhouse. Sowed some more seeds and potted on some wallflowers. Enjoyed listening to podcasts in peace.
2. Spoke briefly to my neighbour as it was raining as he has finishing electric sockets in the shed and the greenhouse. His next step is to connect to the electric supply.
3. DH spent the day painting his mother's old house. I was pleased I wasn't expected to help.
4. DS2 cooked tea. Slow cooked beef. It was delicious and made the house smell good.
5. Started watching The Stranger. Enjoyed it.
6. DS1 went out - not sure who with but we are thinking a date.9 -
Goodness frith glad you got home eventually! Waves to suffolksue
1) Lovely service at St Marys Hadleigh. I know it's not for everyone but i do like my churchLovely young man, with a severe disability, but goodness did he like his music. And lit a candle for a friend in distress as I said I would.
2) raining but not too windy so could use my brolly walking back
3) we took our hosts out to lunch - their choice. Carvery in Ipswich, absolutely heaving but very good management. On arriving we were told there would be a 50 minute wait and given a gizmo that would beep when our table was available
4) so we had a drink and a blether until 3 people at a non-eating table's gizmo went off, sat and chatted to the couple at that table till their gizmo went off. I'd just got in another round when ours went off. 45 minutes of conviviality soon went
5) fabulous carvery - we all went for the medium and had plates piled high with turkey, pork, beef, yorkshire pud and fab selection of vegetables. no supper was neeeded!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
