    Saturday pleasures,

Bit of a lie-in followed by eggy bread for breakfast.

Tried to do some work in the garden but it was so blowy kept getting whacked in the face from the shrubs so gave up and come indoors to bake bread.

DSIL and her partner popped in on the way home from a night away, they had their dog with them so small dog got a play date with an even smaller dog.

Over to see girlie, gave her a good groom in her stable and practised some of the massage moves had been shown, she fell asleep so think I was doing it right.

Must have been something in the air last night as we too had a curry, chicken and lentil, very nice it was too.

Not sure why I didn't post yesterday so I'll try and find 10 for the last couple of days

    1. On Friday I went to my first counselling session. It went well I think. It is also MS as work is paying for the first 6 sessions.

    2. I didn't run out of petrol. I think it was pretty close.

    3. Good shopping done and stuck to my list.

    4. Spent some time in the garden and cleaned the chickens out. It is good being out. Also planted some seeds and tidied the greenhouse.

    5. Watching Whitechapel on Netflix.

    6. Email my parents who are away for 3 months in South Africa which they do every year.

    7. Made broccoli and stilton soup which was good and had it with tiger bread which a neighbour had given me.

    8. Trains worked out ok. I caught an earlier train than I was going to as it was running 20 minutes late. On way home train was at the station ready to go.

    9. Went to a travel show with DH. It was interesting but most of holidays/trips I liked were very expensive! I will have to find cheaper alternatives.

    10. Evening in with DH and DS1 stayed with us and not disappeared to his room to watch Netflix.

Frith enjoy your couple of days with bigger son.
  • A lie in, well until 7.30 which is late for me.

Meeting DD1, James and Frieda for coffee this morning at the garden centre.

Dubious pleasure but tomorrow they arrive to take down our old leaky conservatory and put up a new solid roofed top on it to make it a garden room, will take a week of disruption but will be much better when it's done at the end of the week.

England/France in the 6 nations on the TV this afternoon.

Found a really nice cowl necked jumper in the shop yesterday which fits nicely and is currently in the washing machine so I can wear it tomorrow.

Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday

Washing done and house cleaned before I went to work

Work....one of those rare hard days. We were busy but it didn't flow right. Pleasure is that I am lucky enough to have a job and I get to do it all over again today

Collected best friend after work and he came home to have dinner with us

Proper snorkers from our local butcher. First time friend had tried them and he agreed they were good. HT's favourite are Lincolnshire.

Played online game with friend but we were all in the same place so no headsets needed (HT plays too). Dropped friend home and stopped for coffee and a chat. Friend is very helpful when it comes to possible HT problems. It's good to have another perspective and this time he came up with a really good idea
  • Good theres Cranky, proper snorkers!

Wells wes weres supposed to herd off to town on Friday Night, but BoPsie noted that Ayr weres on the tely, so we nipped off to the emporium, got some wobbleades and snack. Stayed inn to watched.

Saturday we has the double full English. Snorkers, best back, loads of mushrooms and toms. Wells worth it and then to village to get groomed. Done me beard and eyebrows. Looks good as always.

Just bin too the emporium, will be doing the country pie today, with grumbly topping and served with cauliflower and pan gravy. More left overs for the weak as well. That is what proper foods do for you. Onion wills be chopped toe nail style into the country pie. Ifs yous wants the recipe, just read!

Boiled tates to suit, rough chopped.
Pound of beef full fat mince, tossed in with onions styled as toe nails, Fried.
Add carrots to the mice. Crumble in a oxo cub. Add a little sage to liven it up.
Top with the rough tates, don't mash. Great some cheese and top the pie.
Cook in oven at 180C until golden on top.
Serve with a glass of fine wobbleade!
    Snooze!

Just doing the next trip and sorting out the bus runs. More soon!

With that done and your version of BoP written, that is all for bites today!

    Those who can, do!

Cranky thanks for the precedent, being new to the thread I was just wondering if I could put shopping at the butcher in my list of pleasures.

    Saturday:

Early morning shop in breezy sunshine, DH drove me down, good for him to get out of the house though he would not get out of the car (combination of deafness and seriously arthritic knees is his excuse). Useful visit to butcher where I got our favourite boneless lamb Sunday roast, don't know what it's called, but it is just enough for the two of us. Also picked up local news.

Enjoying snuggly hibernation these days. Books, knitting, Doggie, banana loaf and last night Montalbano.

Had nice long telephone chat with DS.

    WhatsApp photos swapped with DGD.

Not really a pleasure but a Good Thing, news on local grapevine of a nasty virus epidemic affecting dogs in vicinity means I know to keep doggie in our own garden for a while. It's the best I can do to protect her. Madam hates getting her paws wet anyway, so I will make sure she gets plenty of games and exercise at home for a while. Is this becoming the new normal?

shropshirelass you can put any thing you like as a pleasure:)

Hello. Me and Outlander have spent the day pottering about!

Fire has been on all day. Son started it and I’ve kept it going.

Bathrooms clean. Laundry up to date ...until the next load! Currently washing sons very muddy mountain bike stuff but he can deal with that!

DD2 and I went to two supermarkets ( I know the high life!) Had a £3 off £30 spend. So 3 x huge washing powder bought ( was on offer) so that should do till summer at least. DD2 bought other things so she owes me!

Then a £6 off a £40 spend so on to the next shop. Loo roll and extra dog food bought so well in advance for that . Shouldn’t need to buy for a few weeks. Amongst other things fruit and veg and bread and milk-y.

Clothes airer in front of fire and washing dried.

Had a very nice bagel with BLT and salad for tea. Just using up what I have.

Did ought to cheer on various folk but knackered & tomorrow is the 21st that isn’t. (Haven’t told Facebook yet - that’s going to be messy.) Still, slowly carefully moving.

    OS pleasures anyway
Scouts! Greeted by one leader with “c’mere” into a huge hug. Everything fine after that! Happy scouts playing cat & mouse (one time with young leaders - hilarious to see near 6’ young leader pursued by 3’ determined scout!), noughts & crosses (‘prentice matriarch steering her team to victory by superior tactics) & so on.

Neighbour waited as I parked up - more hugs & another person who wants to come to a memorial service.

Saw tailor, machinist & ironing lady all absolutely focused so didn’t wave but admired.

Got a mystery call from a Liverpool landline thinking I wanted to use we buy any car to sell a Range Rover. Laughing several times over, here...

Spaghetti bolognese, once again reaching parts other foodstuffs haven’t heard of.

That very strange comfort that our beloved had takeaway on the 31st. Bank statements are unexpected vectors of grace.

“I’ll put my hats by the bed” - a collection of very fetching gents headgear has been brushed, shaped & a few washed. They need to be near a radiator “but not too close!”

Youngest reshod blessedly quickly but Sports Direct leaves marks on my soul...

Himself, blood sugar dropping, missed the Pastel de Nata in Lidl so youngest & I added one to the basket. Tasted rather too much of vanilla apparently but that he was coherent enough to grumble so specifically was a good sign!

Whiskey Galore! Gleeful reading of my youth, & now the remake. Happy memories & yes, the hot water bottle scene still in there!

Strength courage love & hugs to all who need.
