    Friday pleasures,

The beautiful grey one had an early morning visit from her physio, gave her a thorough massage as she was stiff all over after her dentistry work, it was her 4th treatment so free of charge :money:

Grazed her in hand at the top of the fields and surprised 3 roe deer, suspect that the wooded spot over the drainage ditch is where they live. They just stared at us for ages then laid back down.

My friend drove to mine and then I drove on into a nearby village to meet up with another mate. Lots of chat and laughter over tea & cake, just the pick up I needed.

My cake was carrot & beetroot, delicious and they gave me a massive slice so brought half of it home for Capt S.

Neither of us were very hungry for tea after that so agreed on a fish finger sandwich :D

    Evening all from beautiful Bruges....

    Pleasures for yesterday

    1. good walks to and fro stations
    2. Got my student pass sorted with no effort
    3. Eurostar is always a pleasure. Although this one was rather spoiled by two AWFUL English women complaining about the chatter of a small boy.. Made us ashamed to be british
    4. My OH who gave small boy one of our complimentary biscuits and told his father he should be proud of him. Made the point that we aren't all like that beautifully.
    5. An evening in Bruges - lovely beer and a grilled sole and chips...

    Have a good evening all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Cracking good morning in the shop, emergency cover and the best mornings takings since I started there, brilliant for the Hospice.

HWK walked down and met me and took me to lunch cauliflower cheese with bacon and a hot baguette.....DELICIOUS!

    6 nations on the TV.

A cosy log burner on a raw and windy day accompanied by mugs of hot tea.....the best!

Prospect of coffee out tomorrow because HWK can drive again after his op and we can get our usual Sunday treat which we enjoy so much.

Hello. Another day when daylight stretched out a bit more! We had a bright (blustery) afternoon after a very wet start.

Up early and a nice chat with DD1.

Then much pottering about still in my jammies! Hoovering. Floors washed and much laundry caught up on.

Enjoyed a bacon filled bagel! So good!

Then time to wander round to the mothers! Said hello to the busy birds as I walked round. Much too-ing and fro-ing in the hedgerows.

Much done there, hoovering, floor washing, bin emptying , online shop ordered.

Managed to rescue some money off vouchers that mum won’t use.

Nice walk back as sun had came out, saw a skein of geese overhead.

Hello doggy, how lovely to see you. Had a snuggle.

Put some towels out on line for a bit of a blow. Knew they wouldn’t dry but nice to have a bit of fresh air on them.

    Stripped bed and remade.

Have just started watching Outlander...slightly late to the party I realise!

    For Saturday

A day of much laziness as the builders don’t work weekends
An uninterrupted yummy bacon roll for breakfast
Other half went to see his team play football (dare I say he’s a Scoonts supporter as others on here call them!). They lost 3-1
Beef casserole from the slow cooker. It was okay; will be much better when reheated tomorrow
First delicious red wine after dry January

Mhagster. I love Outlander especially the first book/series. I had an audio version when I had a long spell in hospital 3 years ago

    Peace and sweet dreams everyone
  • National Hot Chocolate Day yesterday! consider it done.

This is a mix of yesterday and today.

1 I’ve seen a couple of fantastic lovely “old” films recently a real pleasure.

2 We travelled back to the vets today, everyone doted on him in the reception, and they are so pleased at his healing and very honest in it was double the time under the anaesthesia and such a bad infection, it will take him another week of healing and painkillers. He has found his appetite and we are blending pureeing and concocting food to give him lots of extra calories. The vets have signed him off and he has today regained the use of his back legs. We gave them a very large box of chocs, just stopped short of downright cuddling them!:rotfl:

3 Hoovered the house, various wash loads done, ferret bedding, floor rugs. Just about to mop and change our bedding. Pleasure when its complete for another week, day.

4 Making a curry from scratch full of goodness shallots, garlic, chickpeas, pepper, turmeric it smells lovely.

5 We went out tonight to amble around the shops but did just that, only spend was on lunch at an independent and wow, a ham, brie and chilli jam granary toasted was delicious.

I too have been currying up delicious smells in the kitchen pk
    1) made a delicious parsnip curry, starting off with dry frying the spices and ending with a slosh of sherry.
    2) went to Mr T to spend my voucher - £7 off a £50 shop. Wrote detailed list and kept track on phone calculator as each item went into the trolley
    3) went to gbf's with dd2 to watch the rugby - he's welsh.
    4) we had quiche and salad while watching first half of scotland game
    5) then had to dash off for the Porgy and Bess live from the Met. Dropped DD2 off at home en route. P&B was fabulous, and I hear the Scotland match was exciting but ultimately frustrating
bop we don't mention the hatters!

Am jealous, Ampersand! Adam Hills was live in our tiny local cinema tonight (on stage, not on film) but tickets sold out within 24 hours.

    Pleasures for today (Saturday)

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Down to 2 hens now, but those seemed fine.

    3) Had a bit of a tidy up.

    4) Went to my parents' and my sister also visited at the same time.

    5) Our football team won 2-0, after not doing very well at all so far this season.

    6) Bigger son is home until tomorrow.
