  • SSue, so glad you have support, the NHS really can be amazing in good ways. Hope the tumble dryer issue is sorted soon.

1 Oh I received the new Joe Browns catalogue through today and it looks very good this season hmmm.

2 There has been a lot of chocolate, I didn’t know you could get 400g of Malteasers but I was happy to find out, they lasted 2 days.:o

3 Mmwah ha ha possibly the first time I’ve ever fitted in around here,:p we drove to the high st and around to the Waitrose car park where I popped out and into the store, I can see why people shop there, it was quiet no music blaring, together with bright and spacious, but after I tracked down the duck fat I thought we have to shop anyway to checked the price and my poor wallet was shut. So I bought one thing, and then tried to find the way out to the high street. It’s for the little ferret to up the calories temporarily. I am tempted to go back thou..

People were happy and friendly that was a shock in its own right, where I then popped to the poundland for their packs of 30 puppy pads for £2 which seem to be disappearing. When there was an unopened box of 12, I said I’ll take them all ta. While I was crossing the road to the car, I was watching a mum and her child examine the ferret car sticker, and smiling to myself. :o

We then pondered on down to Lidl where my wallet felt a sense of calmness.

We had to ponder to do a fly by on Tesco mainly as no where seems to do bacon bits any more, and Tesco still has packs that have increased in price to 75p but that’s still cheaper, also I wanted to pick up chocs for the vets, but also didn’t want to pre empt it. They had marked down their rotisserie chickens to a third for their price and I I thought the liquid they leave will be right up littles ones street. :)

4 Dinner is about to be stir fry meat from the freezer but in leftover Christmas gravy with veg.

5 The little one is booked into the vet tomorrow for the post op check, I’m still getting up through the night to make sure he eats a little and feeding him every one to 2 hours at the moment and daring to hope a little now, but I am still touching wood as I write this.

    Evening all

    DforV, I am in awe....
PK hope your pet continues to improve, likewise Frith's hen

    Pleasures for yesterday

    1. OH unwell, this is not the pleasure. The pleasure is that he gave in to it and stayed home.
    2. Except that he did go to do the shopping - this is a pleasure, as I didn't have to do it :rotfl:
    3. Nice salmon and scrambled egg for lunch
    4. Minging curry that OH cooked for dinner - mainly cauliflower and potato and everything looked grey. The pleasure is that I could rescue it and made something rather more appetising for the freezer.
    5. Watched White Hall Farm.

    And today

    1. Good walks to and from stations
    2. Teaching happened. The class was rather better engaged today - I think they realise that I want to help them
    3. DD and I did a sainsbugs run.... for things that can't be bought in Aldi
    4. Wore my new(ish) trousers... they were new on but I've had them a year. They're fab..
    5. Salmon for tea in a bit (can you tell I like salmon...) and then the midwives.

    Have a good evening all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

  • For today. Bit of a yucky day

Started with son arriving in a bad mood expecting me to do his tax return like “now”
That spoilt my bacon roll that other half had just got me from the cafe when he went for a full English
Because we were going to a friend’s funeral
Anyway the tax return got done and funeral service was very moving
Then the boiler wouldn’t fire up after the builders had turned off the gas for the kitchen work
Oh well at least it’s mild and tomorrow is another day!

    Night all

Best thought - we're almost through January, the longest and most depressing month.
    A friend posted this
Thirty days has September, April, June and November
Unless a leap year is its fate, February has twenty-eight
All the rest have three days more
Excepting January, which has six thousand, one hunderd and eighty four!

:rotfl: I just love the idea of oK absolute zero (also the name of a dog in a childhood favourite book) so when i saw the ticket 273 (freezing point of water in kelvin) i just knew that was the ticket for me

    3) lift home from colleague and got home while still light
    4) walked the boys
    5) beautiful crescent moon (which i now know is called a waxing crescent)

    Pleasures for today (Thursday)

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Did a bit of tidying up.

    3) Did bits of admin.

    4) Took smaller son to McDs for lunch.

    5) Roast dinner pie for tea! It's a family favourite though it's just the leftovers of roast dinner mixed with some soup, topped with puff pastry.

    6) Spent several hours helping sister and brother in law construct a new corner kitchen cabinet before the builders return tomorrow morning. Terrible instructions and we thought we had it together and had to basically take it apart to swap 2 pieces of wood over. Saw a badger and a muntjak on my way home.
  • I am up........and so are the birds. 1.51 am......

    Spring definitely on it's way.

Morning all. Some pleasures for yesterday.

On top of things at work.
    New bathroom flooring is lovely.
Old towels that I refused to replace when bathroom was redone now match again because of colours in flooring.
DH happy with his work which makes him less stressed
    Playtime with dogs.
Spend less now, work less later.

For yesterday, bit of a bleurgh day so good to think,

Making bread and being able to take it out on the dough.

Finally got round to making the bird food had been gifted for Yule, now sitting in the apple tree scaring the birds away.

Being sent a video clip by a friend that shows a pony not only refusing to go over the jump but sitting on its rump as if to say enough, the rider gracefully slid off the back.

Opening the back door to let small dog out for last comfort break of the day and not being hit with a blast of cold air.
