Lovely post DFV sounds like you did your lad proud, how wonderful to be able to add the badge.
Monday pleasures,
Went into horsey town first thing and saw several strings of racers heading up to the gallops.
Picked up a bunch of rtc tulips and now sitting in a jug on my table.
Saw my own equine girlie, she’d obviously been having a few whizzes around her field if the kicked up earth was anything to go by, feeling the advancement of spring maybe.
Continuing my 30 day yoga course, trying to improve core strength but get the giggles at times which doesn’t help with the breathing!
Chicken and apple bake for tea.
Uni Challenge and town of gown stormed it,0 -
Morning all...
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Sorted out ICT and caught the train. Fairly uneventful and I got a bit of thinking, if not too much actual typing done.
2. Caught up with DD who was off work poorly (again)
3. DS had a problem with the train manager on his way to Liverpool. It got sorted and an 'insider' told us the guy was a kn0b of the first order anyway :rotfl:
4. Made arrangements to go and see and hopefully buy the camping pod needed to turn car into micro camper
5. COld feet - and a hot water bottle for my actual cold feet :rotfl:
have a good day all - I have a hair appointment (tedious) and a trip to the cinema, around typing.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

On the die that is? No sum says!
I was said to about the lack of rice in mes kedgeree. Rice is an extra baulk material and should be avoided if yous want too stays beach ready like BoP!
The cricket carries on!
Yet more news about your version of the life of BoP.
Packed up this weak with good things in the lunch box of BoP. Usuals, single cheese and free proper chocolate digestives as well.
Got the usual at the mill, but we has had the windas frosted for some reason. We cannot see out, doubt if anyone wants to see in to the boiler room.
No news on visit south at yet.
Preparing for the next BoP tour. In DC! Should be a good one.
:heartpuls to the needy
That is all for the Tuesday Bites from BoP.
That has rested the wicket!0 -
Hello. Land of much rain here and ppffft to the splodge of snow that had washed away by 9.30am
Quick but slippery doggy walk first thing. Chatted with a neighbour as I scraped the snow off car.
Pottered about tidying this morning till I got a phone call to say a chap was on his way to mums so then I had to go too.
That job done then we went to supermarkets...not just one but two! I left her mainly to her own devices in first one. Bought two very Rtc baskets of hyacinths. Pink and white. I love the smell. And a dressing gown and Pj set for baby for next Christmas which was also very Rtc and very gorgeous. I had a £3 off voucher. Also got some primroses to be planted in my sink at front porch tomorrow.
Then supermarket number two. Then popped into work for a coffee for her and a tray bake for me!
Then back to hers. Had to Hoover upstairs and sneeze a little at dust! Sorted some more things out and made a few more phone calls. Hoping this all settles down within reason!
Home! Hello my lovely dog boy...I know I’d much rather be there too!
Munched on bits and pieces and will make my boy an omelette when he gets in from climbing.
I dropped the dogs bowl of food on the floor...was trying to get food out as I could see a delivery driver coming down drive and dog goes crazy...well dog went extra crazy as his food was all over the floor! Yahhhoo!
So much rain this afternoon. But I’m in and not out.
A day for me tomorrow:)0 -

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Hen survived the night but no improvement.
3) Went to floody city to meet my school friend but her daughter had tripped over at school and broken her leg! Had a bit of a wander round anyway.
4) Bought smaller son a double duvet (they've always had single on their bunk beds) and I haven't seen him so happy for years! He's tested it out and I've just had to lie in it for a while to assess it and give my verdict.
5) Watched Holby.
That's about it for today. Sad news about Nicholas Parsons.
And bigger son is moving to an outdoor centre in Wales for a couple of weeks! Then, hopefully and finally, to France.0 -
1. Quick chat with a friend in the corridor at wirk.
2. Arranged to meet another friend in a couple of weeks time.
3. Shepherds pie for tea and made a couple of extra small ones for DH when he isn't keen on what everyone else eats. If it's really easy to do I don't mind getting him different food.
4. Lighting my candle. A lovely smell.
5. Watched Silent Witness.0 -
Tuesday pleasures,
Having to close the curtain during breakfast because the sunshine was so bright, smashing.
Giving the house a good vacuum, the bright sun showed up all the cobwebs :rotfl:
Carrot & coriander soup for lunch.
Riding lesson and trotting one handed to improve my core seat, embracing my inner cowboy!.
Listening to re-run of 50th anniversary edition of JAM, RIP Mr Nicholas Parsons and thanks for all the giggles.0 -
Pleasures yesterday.....
Dog running free in the park with other dogs, she loves her walkies.
Gentle toneup session at the gym.
The sense of achievement after vacuuming the entire house, all that dog hair!
Towels washed and on the line - they still needed finishing off in the dryer but they got an airing.
Plans for redecoration of living room under way- a wooden bench full of old DIY tools and detritus emptied, pictures on the walls culled, some switched around, slight change round of furniture and tidying up of telephone/internet cables, a massive yucca plant potted on and moved to a different corner. I have decided on a colour scheme so order of events will be: order new curtains, source new seating, clear out room as much as possible (some stuff going to charity), get painting sorted, get new carpet sorted, new furniture in place. That's the plan anyway.
The scent from the posies of spring flowers I was given at the weekend. Hyacinths, tulips and miniature daffs.
Got car back from having a paintwork job done, it's been valeted as well so looks beautiful. Courtesy car was ok but it's lovely to have mine back.
Easy dinner - leftover sliced roast beef heated up in gravy, instant mash, tinned peas, heated up Yorkshire puds. It was quite tasty really. Leftover trifle for pud.
Hearing son has moved into more permanent accommodation, a room in a house shared with five other people - all females, so it should be fairly civilised. (Sexist, I know). His rent includes bills and the kitchen and bathroom facilities are respectable. It's in a decent part of London and only half an hour on the Tube from work.
TV rubbish last night so I watched a couple of episodes of Queer Eye on Netflix.
My animals snuggled up on the bed with me last night. Dog by my legs, big cat by my side, kitten snuggled right into my neck, Trouble is his fur is hot and he purrs really loudly so I have to try to move him gently away a bit. Nice that they know we're a tribe. One life - your life - live it!0 -
Morning all...
A frustrating day yesterday as a combination of circumstances and choice meant I didn't get much typing done...
anyway some pleasures
1. Hair cut and coloured. Always a bit tedious and 2 hours in which i'd rather be doing something else. Anyhoo it's done and the walk to and from was brief but pleasant.
2. Got some 'bitty' jobs done, claiming my teaching time, answering emails, writing up meeting notes etc. And I did my lecture for tomorrow, to free up typing time today
3. we went to the cinema to see Jojo Rabbit. One of the best films I've ever seen. it was funny, tragic, poignant, heartbreaking...
4. Washing was half dried on the line
5. made vegetable soup which used up some wrinkly veg and provided a nourishing lunch.
Have a good day all...I wanna be in the room where it happens0
