DforV hugs to you and your family.

    1. Spent time in the garden. Dressed up warm but felt good to be outside.

    2. Chat with neighbour who is putting a cable into the garden for electricity.

    3. Sorted out my jumpers and re-discovered some hidden at the back! I will wear a different variety now.

    4. Everyone enjoyed tea tonight as it contained meat!

    5. Enjoyed watching rugby.

    Thinking of you DFV x

    Friday pleasures,

Capt S had the day off so a leisurely breakfast of mushrooms on toast.

Busy morning getting various chores done, beloved was breaking up stuff in the garden ready to take to the dump.

We combined such an exciting trip out with a drop into cathedral city, he got himself a haircut and I mooched around the bookshop, made a note of a number of wanted items but stuck to no spend Jan.

Hearing about the latest shenanigans from across the pond, old Trumpy boldly going with new emblem for space force, what next! :rotfl:

Talking about naughty boys, watched a bit of cricket, Sky allowed for some interesting lip reading!

Made a salmon tortilla for tea, had with lo slaw.
  • A good afternoon in the shop yesterday and much banter and laughing with the customers, it makes time go so quickly.

Just off to the city for the first time in a couple of weeks as HWK is getting on famously after his operation and I can confidently leave him and know he'll be OK.

Meeting DD1 and the Frieda child for coffee sometime this morning.....as yet undecided.

    Venison sausage based supper tonight.....yum!

Today we can walk on the newly renovated patio at the back of the house and also use out usual back door entrance again which I've missed as we've had to go downstairs and use the front door and the cream carpets are NOT a good thing in this dank and soggy weather. Ne'mind we'll clean them and all will be well. The conservatory tiles are so much easier to deal with!

Some pleasures from yesterday afternoon and today so far.

Customer thanking me for my patience.
    Peaceful evening.
    DH arriving home safely.
DH buying me more shrimp and banana sweets, also fudge.
    Lovely bath this morning.
Dyeing my hair has been successful.

Beginning to find it easier to actually focus on the good things in life.

Maybe that's a pleasure too. Thank you for this thread.
Spend less now, work less later.

Hello. From the sofa nearest the fire.

Up early ( after my second almost full night sleep in a row!) me and the doggy came downstairs and pottered.

He actually just wanted a cuddle so that’s just what we did. Stopped with the pottering and sat and had a snuggle. He’s a very indulged dog who likes cuddling.

Went to supermarket. For life essentials like loo paper and dog food. Had a £3 off voucher.

    Cleaned bathrooms. Hoovered downstairs.

Made lamington cakes, faffy little things! It’s Burns Day today and Australia Day tomorrow (though already today so we can eat cake later! ) tomorrow is a busier day so thought I’d get the faff out the way and make them.

Fire has been on the go since mid morning.

Had a tremendous snooze...longer than a snoozette! Was reading my library book ( get me...reading!) and could feel the tiredness coming on so made myself comfy on the sofa...woken up by the son coming in and saying’have you fed the dog?’ No son. I’ve been sleeping. Soundly.

DD2 came home from work and gentle banter between us all. Funny.

Son has just taken my car to fill it with petrol and pick up some dinner on the way back.

A much needed day at home.

    Good evening all,

    Yesterday's pleasures...

Work - good shift, we were busy and worked hard but we chatted as we worked. I went in with a touch of January blues and came out smiling and feeling lucky.

A caramel latte which was made by mistake and ended up with me. We don't pay for our drinks in work but we rarely ask for anything other than green tea, squash or water so a latte was an unexpected treat.

Home to the HT who was in a good mood "because it's Friday"

Hot bath, pjs on and a g&t

Long gaming session with best friend - the first time that he's been able to play for so long since his accident

    Today's pleasures

Lunch out with friend and HT.

Friend bought me a bunch of flowers which was lovely

I bought some milk free treats for best friend - I dropped them off and took him on a very short shopping trip.

Chat with best friend about the HT's problems at school this week. As I don't have the HT's dad to discuss things with, it's a relief to have someone who cares about the HT to talk things through with

Pizza for tea - I didn't sleep well last night and it's been a very busy day so lazy food is perfect

Thinking of DfV and family and sending hugs
  • Last 24 hours ' pleasures

Early night and good long sleep
Quick emergency shop at Co-op for easy food, then back to bed and slept again
    Himself being extra helpful
Snuggling in front of fire on such a dull day
Hoping that because I had a flu jab it won't last long. Tend to think these things last 7 days if you go to bed and a week if you don't.
  • Well my plan of having a good nights rest ended at 3am. Wide awake nursing aching/painful body parts. Useless and weepy all day.........don't know what's wrong with me.

On a good note dinner last night was great..........

    It's my birthday tomorrow........

My Chinese Zodiac says I'm going to have a good year (double tee-hee)...........

    Feeling better now.........

A lovely evening to one and all

    In no particular order -
    1. Rugby shouties for our Shelford Ladies 1st XV. Tough loss, but needed the catharsis as toxic neighbour asb has ramped up again. Reporting every instance, as told I must, but nothing happens.

    2. Fence repaired:-))). Leftover panel, 2 posts and 2 stanchions returned(Witcham, Lainey - Fen Farmland Supplies, recommend. Livery there.). Helpful £41+ refunded.

    3. Booked last available slot for William Blake Exhibition.
Means early coach>London tomorrow. Ancient-person National Art Pass gave half price entry and bus pass will do the rest to Tate Britain, et al.

    4. Called at Emmäus en route back from 2, then en route to 1. Dozen more cheapie teatowels acquired for rugby club. Boil-washed and now drying.

    5. New book arrived, 'West With the Night', ordered after hearing about the remarkable(if not probably very likeable) Beryl Markham on Women's Hour last week.
