Miss Cranky.............. 'Cross' is infinitely more polite than 'frothing at the mouth' but doesn't quite cut it. I think I have settled on 'mad' ! :rotfl:

Your imagery made me a bit weepy. I always imagine my Murphy waiting for me with my forever loved humans, all with tethered excitement. Truth be told they are more likely to be waiting with a list of things they want to scold me for.................. :)

Miss Dundee..........here's the funny thing about pineapples. They are brilliant for mouth ulcers (if you can stand it) and 'hairy tongue'......... (don't ask)..........but ONLY fresh. So there must be an active element in the fresh ones that has been taken away by canning. Perhaps this is what you are reacting to.

Sun is shining, hip is behaving......off out with Tiggy. No shopping today.

  • May I join you here on 5 ? I need to do something positive, as I seem to be just drifting aimlessly from day to day, life certainly speeds up as you get older.

    1. Good news about our terrier Bonnie, who had a biopsy last week of a lump on her neck: looks like a cyst, no infection or malignancy, just need to keep an eye on her.
    2. Nasty cold damp dull weather, but primulas brightening the front porch with red and yellow, and lots of bulbs peeping out.
    3. Tuesday today, fish day, cod a la Portuguese i.e. With tomato and onion, numnum.
    4. Will have time to read a bit this afternoon, recently I've read a few books on life during WWII, including Housewife 49. Reading 'A presumption of death' now, from point of view of landed gentry.
    5. WhatsApps from my family, in various warm or snowy places,.
  • Hello Shropshirelass, nice to see a familiar name pop up, welcome aboard!

Another glorious but so very cold day out there today, beautiful with the rime frost sparkling in the sunshine.

Took two bags of donations to the charity shop and am working on decluttering the kitchen cupboards too.

Nice walk to get HWK's paper this morning and took the long way home because it was nice outside.

    Poached eggs for lunch.

    Warm jumpers.
  • 1 The vet phoned early this morning, just as we were walking out of the door to drive over they have been flooded out, handy to have caught us as it’s quite a drive, the old lad is ok on his strong painkillers hopefully he won’t have to wait too long. We need to know he will get through the op first as he then needs strong antibiotics and further pain relief for after.

2 Also today received a really lovely card also from the vets, a really lovely gesture that means a lot to us, over something completely unexpected over Christmas.

3 Definitely a soup for lunch type weather day.

4 A lazy day, a lot to sort out, but just kind of shuffled it about sorted a little paperwork and rehomed a book.

5 Leftover takeaway from last night is tonight’s tea, with an added salad.

    Another day of biz.

    Quick dog walks x 3 .

Lovely chat with DD1. She was a bit (big bit) fed up about something but we chatted it through and managed to laugh a few times.

Nice chap brought medical equipment to mums. All set up. He did call me 10 minutes before. We arrived at the same time. Had to clear an area so took some books down to book charity box thingy. May have sneezed with so much dust!

Managed to get my back massage. Hurrah! Ooh aah and ouch.

Then back round to mums to check equipment put on. Two bags of washing taken back! Will wash tomorrow morning and DD2 can take it round.

DD2 bought me beautiful yellow roses. Just because.

Had some rtc pakora/bhaji/ samosa with salad for my tea.

My last magazine from Australia sent which was part of my birthday gift last few years . DD1 will be travelling the world for a year. Though will be here in 4 months time. Hurrah! And a dollar coin ( special edition) taped to it and a funny calendar for her sister that had the desired effect of making her laugh out loud.

Back to work for a rest tomorrow:)

Building work has commenced! Not really a pleasure but sooner started, sooner it’s finished,

Chinese takeaway with my 2 oldest friends amid the chaos at mine, but still good
Locked out of the forum but managed to reset and get back in
Snuggled up in bed with a hot pad soothing my aching back ready to face the mess tomorrow!
