DfV, thinking of you.
1 We had to take our oldest blind wonderful fuzz to the vet today, and have to accept a very high risk major op tomorrow. While there we also picked up a months’ worth of heart meds for our other ill boy and winced slightly at the bill and aware of another bill for the major op tomorrow, no sleep for us tonight.
2 Home and worry cleaned the house, also I meal planned at 3am last night as I couldn’t sleep at all, actually in fairness no sleeping has been a problem for a long while.
3 We are ordering in tonight, I can’t justify it as the vet has blown the budget, but it is fairly cheap and means I don’t need to cook it.
4 Feeling a bit guilty as I have a pile of books to read but I feel like reading the 50p CS one instead.
5 A couple of loads of washing done and up to date with no use of the tumble dryer, saving where we can.
6 The crocus’ and snowdrops are coming up, I hope they they will survive the frost.0 -
and will be on friday too..

Today
1 specialist nurse came ,new type of neck collar being tried ,much laughter.
2 made a good curry tonight
3 Sunshine and
4 aconites and snowdrops out ,spring is coming .
5 DH cheerful and seems to be enjoying the hospice visits0 -
DfV the random hugs From vaguely familiar people seem to be the norm in these circumstances.
On balance I think they’re better than the sight of someone familiar seeing you and rapidly disappearing in the opposite direction!

DfV - I will be thinking of you on Friday.
SuffolkSue - I've had frozen shoulder on the left and I think the right is going the same way. So hope your shoulder behaves!
Pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Off to the museum. I had one pointed comment today (as I am having to do things a certain way - to get our "inspection" passed - and people have been doing things a different way for a very long time...) BUT all good and a solid few hours of work put in and questioning various people at length to get answers to fill in the gaps to the work I had done at home.
3) Popped to Sainsburys.
4) Stopped at my sister's as she is having 2 walls knocked out. The house has a square single storey bit on one end which has a weird kitchen across it (but only 1.5m wide), then a corridor out to the back door with a square bathroom to the right and a square outhouse to the left. (1950's council house design). The square outhouse is now part of the kitchen so the kitchen is an L shape with much more room!
5) Hens OK.
6) Popped to nearest village for petrol, to post an Ebay sale and to check the charity shop.
7) Changed 1 bunkbed, did a load of washing and a mountain of washing up.
8) Bigger son messaged and he is off to France to work until December!
9) Wrote an email against the planning permission put in for the field immediately opposite (that will also take all the parking for the village hall, shop, school bus stop etc).
10) Salmon for tea, with boiled pots and broccoli.
11) Did some Duolingo though it is getting harder now.0 -
DforV thinking of you now and on Friday.
1. Enjoyed a free exhibition at Science museum Sunday. We arrived as it opened and the exhibition was very quiet. Lovely not to have others looking around.
2. Walk back from the museum to Charing Cross. It was sunny and we looked at shops and walked through the parks too. Slightly too early for the snowdrops.
3. Magnificent sunrise on Monday. It made the start of the day better.
4. Work happened and has been worse.
5. DS2 cooked not one of his better efforts but I didn't need to cook.0 -
Good morning all,
Bala...poor Tiggy, I'd be really cross too if I were you.
PK I hope the op on the fuzzy one goes well
Yesterday's pleasures
The fish was still alive when I turned his light on. (He's called Dandelion DfV)
No work today so did the food shopping without having to rush
Called in with my aunty for half an hour - coffee and a chat
Cleaned the living room, put all the "stuff" away that was cluttering up the bookshelves and did a bit of rearranging.
Updated the app for my big speaker and played music through it while I cleaned. I'd forgotten how good the sound is.
DfV My friend's daughter died the same day as your son and her funeral is also Friday. I'll be holding both families in my heart. At the same time I have an image in my mind of Amy and your son arriving at the "check-in" together and having a bit of a chat.0 -

Pleasures for yesterday
1. gentle yoga class - am going to attempt one a week from now on.
2. cracking on with typing but another restructure is looking likely for this chapter. Pleasure is that I guess it is progress of sorts
3. edamame stir fry for tea - and the same today
4. washing on line - that everyday pleasure. Not sure where it's all coming from (DS's bedroom floor is the answer). He cleared his floor and put the next load in the machine...
5. saw the first episode of Cold Feet as I missed it last week. I've a lot of TV to catch up with. Want to watch the Wisting, and have yet to see Sunday's midwives. Am well behind on Dr Who also.
Have a lovely day all - am off to lunch with a friend in a bit..:TI wanna be in the room where it happens0
