1. A busy day at work which made it go quickly. I would have hoped for more support at one point after a difficult encounter and asked for 5 minutes and my line manager and manager who were discussing Christmas at the time told me no! I then decided they couldn't stop me going to the toilet.
2. Friendly bus driver in way home who chats.
3. Spoke with my Mum on the phone before my parents go away for 2 months or so to warmer climes for the winter.
4. Enjoyed take away pizza with enough left for lunch. Had planned in fish pie but fish was off. It took ages to try and get rid of the smell.from the house.
5. Chat with DS1 who was home at a fairly reasonable time. His overtime will be stopping soon.0 -
Wednesday pleasures,
It was very mild so no need for hat & gloves at the yard, equine girlie was in a frisky mood, kicking up heels and prancing along.
Driving back from stables and laughing out loud at Martin Jarvis reading PG Wodehouse, I love a bit of Jeeves and Wooster.
Cleaning small dog’s teeth, she bares them at me but not in an aggressive way just a here you are Mum, crack on kind of way!
Trying out a new recipe, Miso & Honey roasted chicken, very tasty and will have again.
My new book, Ann Cleves with a new main character, couldn’t stop reading in bed, just one more chapter...0 -

My knee is slightly less painful than it was last night, but it's up like a balloon and DD2 the GP has diagnosed me with osteo arthritis over the phone and told me to stay off it for the day, IF ONLY.
Just made a big pan of vegetable soup to use up some 'bendy veg' from the veg rack and fridge.
Wilko's yesterday had all their left over Christmas chocolates vastly reduced so I got 2 large tubes of smarties to go on cakes for 50p each and 2 packs of chocolate coins for 25 p each all with use by November 2020 dates.
The sun is shining outside.
HWK came to get me off the bus yesterday and I'm so grateful he did as I don't think I could have made it home on my own at that point of the day.0 -

It is your fault that I have turned into a biscuit fiend. Now everytime I'm in the shops they sing their siren songs.
Now, cease with your subliminal hocus-pocus !
grumble........grumble..........
:rotfl:
Less mouths to feed then! Cheerio!
Jenny sends one to those in need :heartpuls
Now onto proper things again.
Usual inn the BoP Lunch Box and too cheeses as well!
Had home dog burgers last evening, with mature cheese and none of that plastic stuff.
Proper cocoa and crumpets as well. Rite tasty, and court up with some Portillo trains. Raffles got a tad interested when the falcon was on. Think he would has gotten off worse for wear though!
Thinks we has all the baubles round up after Raffles had his flight with them!
And keeping mes beached ready looks, I is inn the gym this eve.
That is all for the Lunch Bites this day.
Fly away with wax coated wings!0 -
DundeeDoll- don’t let the opportunity escape you!
VJsmum - warm.... <pats duvet reassuringly>
MrsLW - both feet up, plenty of fluids & enjoy the soup. A swollen knee is a very clear sign to rest it a bit!
LaineyT - miso & honey chicken? Sounds amazing! When sense of taste returns, must try that
Villagelife - I get the huge pizzas as the leftovers are so easy! Gives the noodle stash a chance too.
Waves to all.
Last couple of days
The pleasure is that bed rest & fluids do eventually help you feel better from a cold. (If eating baked beans, count them all in. Finding one in your handkerchief is bad...)
A long time ago my sweet son liked the idea of silver to pay the ferryman. I have sourced two handsome florins, as knowing I do what he wants is comforting.
Researching probate thresholds, I do not anticipate Any problem with the bank. When you start to tally up the affection & memories & Facebook likes etc, he was richer than Forbes can count, but in a way the gubbyment cannot touch him for.
The footer of one letter “Do Not reply to this letter”. I love our much older generation, they get I am trying to play by rules I do not wholly understand (but am learning to appreciate) & both coach me while absolving me.
Oh my. Technology. I suddenly have lots of machines & no passwords. But there is some giggling & taking the mick & the inevitable joke about the number of bodies at the funeral. I’m awed bemused relieved (& still anxious) at how far we’ve come. Still anticipate years to go but to have even some giggling is wonderful.
Yesterday
Extra sleep has helped vs The Cold.
Noticing youngest has lovely long elegant fingers (& surprisingly clean fingernails) whereas my hands are short Viking hands. Good for measuring horses!
Got two festive t shirts for next year, at 50 pence each. Even if I rag them, I’m still ahead - plenty of fabric.
Another carbootload of bagged stuff, tools, clothes, memories. My grouse that it is almost as if he never existed rubs thin as I sweat lugging it up & downstairs. Hugging the scout blanket (my only piece of black at the minute) helps. Recognising the little silly things that had gone into stockings over years & this years windup marching guardsman (intended for a dextrous under-5) that amused my 20 year old. The happy memories. The lament at opportunities and fun he never got to.
James May reassembling a Kenwood mixer! A bloke we admire working on a gizmo we admire & just watching the engineering is glorious. “All this time’s been saved, but where’s it gone?” If we ever get a dog, Bazalgette is a strong contender for a name.
Today I have started on antibiotics....0 -
Okay
Successes/pleasures for yesterday.
Managed to sort out something that had been worrying me with the opticians. In the process spoke to the most helpful manager. She was a star.
Sorted vet/pet taxi for tomorrow. Tiggy's visit to eye vet. I spoke too soon the other day about her eye healing. Have tried to cut out different food groups to see if she has developed an allergy. So far I am down to fish. No fish !
To cut long story short, apart from financial constraints, I have found going out (over the last couple of years) difficult. But last night went to see Sandi Toksvig in her 'National Trevor' show.

Good meet up with my oldest friend for lunch today
Decided not to go back to SlimmingWorld today and try and to do it myself as I know what to do and now only less than a stone to go. This will save a few £s for healthy lunches out with friends whilst hopefully not putting back the other pounds!
5th day of “dry January “ and not missing my wine so far! Hopefully this will help the above!
Have a great evening 😊0
