Ah well all good things and all that! Last day off ( though then I only work for two days so it’s hardly any at all! ) though I think the actual alarm going off tomorrow and then the actual getting up and the actual getting ready and then the actual going out will be challenging!
Up early with doggy then could feel myself getting dozy so had to say to DD2 make sure I’m up before you go to work!
Had hairdresser..be gone grey hair and two hours later it was. Also treated myself to shampoo. Was a bit of an eye-watering expense as I’d only worked 5 hours previously so was a teeny tiny wage last week . I had a little left in my savings account for Christmas so I transferred that to help pay.
Popped in to supermarket on way home...also dropped of charity bag and recycling plastic bags. Do you mind change? No...loads of coins from my tips purse.
Then briefly home. Hello dog. Hello niece with a very quick phone call. Then off out for back massage of the ooh ah ouch kind. Used cash from tips for that too.
Oh last night I spent the money I’d put by for my hair on a console table. Someone was selling it on Sunday but it was taken subject to collection. It wasn’t picked up so I was offered it ( as were 15 others! ) I got there first. Had to drive through country roads in the dark . Horrible! But I did it. All twisty and turny and wild weather. Anyway son helped me put it together as original customer had wanted it taken apart to go in her back seat. So it’s sitting nicely in my bedroom. Had a lovely chat with the owner.
Tonight DD2 and I took her new car to a diagnostic garage. Clutch has almost gone. So we now have the original garage to deal with tomorrow / warranty company. Grrrrrr.
Having some kind of mushroom Wellington doodah for tea. Will serve with rice and peas.
It is seriously wild outside.0 -
Evening all
Five pleasures for today:
1. Visit from lovely nurse coordinator who was very helpful re some of DM's current challenges.
2. Very good humous/hummus/homous/houmous (how on earth do you spell that word? :rotfl:) and salad sarnie for lunch.
3. Fitted mattress protector and fitted bottom sheet delivered for my bed. Such joy. I've been struggling for months with an unfitted sheet that untucks itself ontop of the slippery mattress surface and tonight that problem will be gone.
4. A literature f/b group that I belong to has started a new set of reading challenges for this year. Fun distraction.
5. Thanks to Frith yesterday evening, I have resumed my Welsh Duolingo practice. I've not got to the bit about drinking tea yet though Frith - however, I can say nos da with confidence to you! I knew that one before starting Duolingo anyway.
Sweet dreams

Evening lovelies, great to see some new faces popping up on the thread.
DFVyou really made me laugh with your wedding dress tales and shall heed your advice and take plenty of tea and cakes breaks.
Broomstick...we had the same lunch today, will leave the spelling to you
So a busy day today with few pleasures, didn't help but I had an awful nights sleep last night, unusual for me as I could literally sleep on a washing line. Anyway, pleasures...here goes
1. Found my lost glove...in the sock drawer
2. Snuck on to the scales, breathed in, hung onto sink, closed one eye, balanced on tiptoes and after all the Christmas indulgences had only put 1lb on....not sure how, but pleased.
3. Had an afternoon meeting that finished early , so got a flyer and was home at 4.15
4. Packed lunches for tomorrow sorted for all.
5. Bird feeders cleaned and replenished, pooches walked and curled up in front of the fire.Well Behaved women seldom make history
Early retirement goal... 2026

I’ve been reading the forums for the last 3 years and this is one of my favourites! So here goes my first post:
Dentist this morning wasn’t as bad as I had been dreading it would be
Bumped into an old friend after dentist and will arrange to meet up soon
Walk in the park to up my steps on my Fitbit I got for Christmas
Other half didn’t need anything done at the dentist following his check up today which happened to be on the same day as my treatment
Christmas chocolates finished so I can get back on SlimmingWorld eating without cheating!
Extra one. Can’t believe I’m posting on here after all this time!😊0 -
