    2 ?where in garden
    3 washing and ironing done
    4 good chat to friend
5 keeping an eye on test ,fingers crossed we don’t let them off the hook this time
  • Lovely to have you with us Cranky and Jazee it's a friendly place and none of the pleasures we find is HUGE but all of them make me smile and that's priceless!

DD1 and family came yesterday and the older boys had their presents and stockings from Christmas when they were both too poorly to come as planned. Lovely seeing them open and enjoy what we'd bought them.

James dropped them at church to meet their mum and came back laughing because the vicar asked how Christmas had been for them and they said we've just had the third one.....it was lovely!

Being back to normal routine again, the holidays are nice and the food and presents and family are really nice but so is 'everyday routine' which I miss when it's not here.

Just had a lovely hot shower and a set of clean clothes so am warm and comfortable, nice feeling.

Busy week ahead and I'm looking after our new granddaughter for the whole day for the first time on Wednesday, the first I hope of many more.

    Quick update from Singapore.
    1) veggie haggis for lunch before heading off to edinburgh airport
    2) pilot apologised that we had been assigned a bay a long way out at Schipol. Was excellent for me as was very close to the Singapore flight.
    3) watched 3 films - downton (so so), Tolkein and Lowry. Very much enjoyed the biographies.
    4) and managed to sleep (university paying so was in cattle class)
    5) now safely in hotel deciding what to do with my evening. the hotel has a gym and a swimming pool and a restaurant, but thinking a meal might wake me up. i have, being mse packed some cereal bars of course.

  • Got the furnaces warmed through now at the mill and the shovels are moving the coke. No smokeless here! Inn the basket that carries BoP’s lunch box we has the goodness of proper foods. Cheese, toms, cucumber and pepper! Orange, and fresh pineapple. Some Bourneville and of curse, three proper digestives.

This very morning BoPsie seems to has her knickers in a twist. 50 texts about our no penny funds at the bank and being, this morning only, around £1.62 off the scale under! Not worth keeping pennies inn the bank as it pays not much in interest, so they are on their weigh from the BoP pot at the society of bricks!

Quite excited about the recent football events from the Theatre of Fish. We is on a role!
Had snorkers tossed with onions, proper carrots and leeks for dinner last day, covered with pan gravy. Chicken poodle soup and fresh buttered ovened bread was a nice starter.
Watched the end of Alastair Cooke programme America last day with a glass of the wobbleade as well.

Please note that inn your version of the Life of BoP, BoP does or could exaggerate certain words, phrases or saying! Inn the end, BoP is correcto mondo!

Now for the shorted & version of the Life of BoP!
    Cheese Burgered and tossed it!
    Standing bye DfV :heartpuls

Rite, that is yous lot for Lunch Bites from BoP today!
    Same time tomorrow?

Mainly dry over the last 2 weeks & have even had some sunshine :D
Time spent with DH’s family, board game played & won by me :j more by luck than judgement :rotfl: + the joy of an 18 month old :D
Another holiday booked :T - going with DH’s sis & BiL & DH’s niece & nephew in law.
Looking forward to & kitting ourselves out for our winter sun holiday :D
Getting completely engrossed in the new Scandi-noir series Wisting - really happy that it is double episodes :)
Long happy chats with nice neighbours - even the kids chat now ;)
    Last night’s roast dinner - delicious 🤤
Persuading my niece-in-law to start posting on MSE OS Forum :D I love reading her posts as she is so articulate & only 6 years younger than me :rotfl:

There are so many more but overall just the feeling of happiness & contentment.

Will try to post more regularly in 2020 ;)

ooh where are you in Singapore, DD? Have you been before?

of course Raffles is a must (is it open?)

If you get opportunity I highly recommend the set lunch at the Marina Bay Sands - the big boat building. I've been twice (once paid for by someone else and once I paid for). it saves paying to go to the viewing deck and the set lunch is divine and not much more than entry to the viewing deck... the views are spectacliar...:D

I also recommend Jungle for a good curry and Hot kitchen if you're in the business quarter...
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Hello. Dinner cooking, using up left over baking potatoes from work as roasties ( freeing up more room in freezer) and the eternal supply of parsnips too. Will have with leftover veggie lasagne.

A day of just being at home. Just the dog and I. Bathrooms cleaned. Guest bedroom sorted out. Laundry ( never ending) hung in lots of places! All hoovered up and down.

Moved dining area rug to extension. Moved extension rug to dining area. Decided much later on I didn’t love the dining area rug in the extension so moved the living room rug to the extension and the what was dining area rug to the living room...either too many rooms or too many rugs! Whatever...was much lugging of heavy rugs up and down ( and the furniture they’d been tucked under...and usually found with a dog sat on them. )

Floors washed...then sighed as the dog came in from the garden .

Sorted through my wardrobe. Have a charity bag ready to go when either next one is collected or if I remember to drop off at charity bin.

Booked a collection for my red sofa. I have to pay however at least it was taken outside by nice chaps last week.

Tidied the shoe cupboard. Much mud hoovered up from the boys boots.

It’s mostly lashed with rain however just before sunset there was the briefest glimpse of blue sky. Just put heating on now...much up and down stairs and lugging of rugs kept me warm enough.

Watched Bancroft as I did my chores.

Only one more day left off work...well they went by far too quickly !

Well today not been lovely, I woke up to letters showing I had been frauded, I phoned the company to sort it out, que literally hours of no I am responding to your letters, no you don’t have my phone number or email address, here have the fraudulent one you have given me in the letter, literally hours, I then reported it using the online police tool and hope I have done enough as it’s taken enough time and made me feel very stressed.

Also I “was” supposed to be starting a new role tomorrow but nothing through, so I phoned and emailed to nothing. I’m trying hard not to feel fed up.

Some pleasures for both yesterday and today.

1 I’m not sure this is a pleasure but I got up washed my hair, went back and laid on the bed and didn’t wake up again for a couple of hours, safe to say bed head has nothing on how my hair has dried, and what’s worse maybe is I looked at it and decided who’s going to see me today, the animals and DH who are used to the craziness.

2 I’ve started writing again, and spent out 4.99 on a kindle book that people keep directing me to saying I write in a similar style, different things but similar style apparently and they have good reviews so I should check it out. I also have an aim to enter a competition this year I have my eye on.

3 We don’t eat as much as we used to and even cutting down on festive food, we have lots left unopened pudding, various goodies, but unopen double cream sacrilege, it’s a week out of date now we will see if it’s ok.

4, Ricky Gervais’s opening of the Golden Globes. Wow.

5 Breaded haddock, loaded potato skins from Christmas and veg is dinner.

I’ve no right to complain , when I read what some of you are dealing with and with such fortitude, but it’s not been a good few days for me and I’m finding I just want my bed at the moment; maybe it’s an anti-climactic/time of the year thing, and I’m so very aware that I should count my blessings.
So here are some from the past week -
Books, always books! A comfort, a passer of time, an educator, an entertainer; don’t know where I’d be without reading!
Heating - being cosy and warm as it’s lashing rain outside.
Scented candles - am about to light a new one
Found an Apple and cinnamon cordial when I did my grocery shopping- very nice
Decorations are down - how much bigger the house feels!

    Take care everyone.
