    Cranky, wise words there..

1 We went out for a drive today, the sun was out and I’ve been wanting to see the sea for weeks, so we went over to Dungeness, of course walking the ferrets attracted the attention of the warden there, what an amazing chap. 25 years of working there, we inundated him with questions he was fascinating, we learned about the history of the place, he pointed to some houses that were actually operation PLUTO houses that were made to look like houses that were actually pumping stations for the Normandy landings. He mentioned that the workers dug all through the nights to lay and re hide pipework, and what happened was they disturbed a poppy that thrives when disturbed so it created lines of blue poppys where ever they dug. A fascinating chap. We tried to drive and find the sound mirrors but the weather had closed in.

2 We found our way to a lovely fish and chip shop 2 portions for a fiver each, a pleasant surprise, we ate it while watching the search and rescue helicopter searching the sea.

3 My job has fallen through so trying not to dwell, I’ve spent the past few hours putting various applications together, and spent the day trying to annoyingly re plan.

4 There were some mozzarella sticks and some orange lindor, separately I hasten to add not together…

    5 Watched an old movie

PK - we couldn't find the sound mirrors either! We went to Kent in August and visited Dungeness after tea and it was completely deserted.

    Pleasures for today (Tuesday).

    1) What a lie in! Was so tired after starting at the new museum job yesterday. Woke up quite early because some building work has started next door. Went back to sleep - woke up at 12.30!!!!

    2) Hens OK.

    3) Went into town to meet my school friend.

    4) Did lots of very time consuming paperwork and emails this evening. Various money saving bits and more.

    5) Watched Holby.

    6) Made croissants with nutella in, using smaller son's new recipe book.

    7) Bigger son phoned and he read his book until 1am (Cecilia Ahern, recommended by an older lady as I was gazing at the charity book shelves in Sainsburys the other day) then woke up with 10 minutes to get ready for work! He did archery all day plus child protection and said they will train you up in the things you like best. So he'll go mainly for archery and climbing. 90% likely that he will work in France after the training is finished. Food OK and he went to the pub this evening (just like here, the nearest pub is 5 miles away).

    8) Left a message for someone to give me a quotation to mend my guttering. I'm trying to do the 20 new years resolutions for 2020 challenge and 20 DIY/house/garden mending tasks is on there. Also did my Duolingo for today. Dw i'n hoffi bwyta te ond dw i ddim yn hoffi coffi. Nos da pawb!
  • 5 for Tuesday

    1. Managed 4 of 8 jobs from my To Do List - made cottage pie (so time consuming but well worth the effort :T), more holiday clothes bought, shopped in A*di (so much nicer than A*da :p), wrote menu plan. The other 4 will be added to tomorrow’s To Do list :rotfl:

    2. Cottage pie & green beans - yummy 😋

    3. Enough cottage pie left for Wednesday’s dinner & enough meat & cheesey mash for freezer :T

    4. Watched Sunday’s Call the Midwife

    5. Watched Dancing on Ice & actually recognised 5 of the 6 celebrities :rotfl:

    2 extra pleasures

    6. Some sunshine 🌞

    7. Lovely long chat with next door neighbour

    2. Supermarket was very quiet but they wasn't much on the shelves either though as a result not much money spent.

    3. Quick chat with my Dad on the phone.

    4. The bin men collected all my paper/cardboard recycling. There was a lot of it.

    5. Enjoying my book.

Thank you DFV it is a really peaceful thing to do and allows the endless chatter to stop, to just be.

    Tuesday pleasures,

Back on the BSD and a fast day, it’s amazing how much housework you can get through whilst trying to keep your mind off how hungry you are!

At last, lunch, lentil and bacon soup, yum.

Making arrangements with friends for a meet up, good and true friends really are one of life’s real pleasures aren’t they.

The small dog that sits at my feet when I’m grating cheese, just waiting for any small morsel to fly off the work surface, mind she always waits until I say you can have it before snaffling.

The new series of Silent Witness and I managed all the gruesome bits without needing to use the cushion of protection!

    2. Fenboys and car service/sort out, no charge. Will rtn for sensor replacement when that arrives.

    3. Just heard Big Bash hat trick, 2nd of the day, on R5live extra. Then overturned. All better than current transatlantic armageddon playtime. Overturn of THAT overdue.

    4. CS Monday busy. Special moment witnessed between a father and volunteer grownup son, 'child' being father to the man.

    5. Returned rugby club laundry last night, boil washed+clean+dry, after Fenboys. Watched some good, hard work training. Chingford away this Saturday.

I C that mhags bought one of BoP's olld cars. I dump mine when things like the clutch is knackered!

Was inn the gym yesterday ridding me off the puppy fat that disappears after New Year!

Just watched that right hook on Kevin Keegan by Jonny Giles in the 74 Charity Shield. Proper slogging!

Good to see that Engerland won the test match! No way do we want the test reduced to four days! Thank you.

Now for those interested inn the food at the gaff of BoP, then get your greasy spoons on this. Inn todays lunch box we has three proper digestives, too cheese, toms, cucumber and peppers. Pineapple and orange as well. Then this very evening we has Dog Burgers. Proper, not the fast gaff muck, cheese burgers with slabbed proper cheese in toasted sesame bun. Please be aware that allergens will be used in the preparation of BoP’s scran.

Bit light on your Lunch Bites this day!

All that is asked is your 100%, which is the best you can do?

frith I had added fish number 2 for my 2020 - grey turbot (sadly didn't see any durian icecream or else of course...)
    1) breakfast with the boss followed by filling in our man management forms for the Singapore government
    2) taxi to NUS MD11 to register then MD6 to set up our workshop and have lunch (prawns but have decided fish is fish and not shellfish). workshop went really well
    3) for supper we went Italian - I think the chinese was a little too spicy for the boss oops. I had spaghetti alle vongale which had grey turbot in as well as cockles
    4) back to the hotel, switched on one of the film channels and it was Well that was a trip down memory lane. Just back to the hotel after a lovely evening in Singapore, switched on the television to 'Blinded by the light', set in 1987 Luton. Lots of memories - the Arndale, St Marys, the town hall, the sixth form, and yes BOP even a shot of the Kenny. Now if only he'd been a Bowie fan rather than a Springsteen ;-)
    5) and DD1 texted me - she got the job she interviewed for in the NL on Monday - Ruby programmer :j

Hello. Back to work today and actually it was alright! And considering we weren’t madly busy actually decent enough tips.

Busier than past couple of days apparently. Kept going.

Chatted to a chap who used to be our neighbour and kids were similar ages. They moved away and then we moved properly away and then when we came back they’d gone even further! So nice to catch up although he didn’t know about OH which is always hard. And nice to hear how his family are doing and he was interested in how mine were.

Also chatted to an old colleague. Nice to see her and catch up on her news.

Butting through the clouds was an almost full moon. Very blustery today. One of my fence panels had came a bit loose ( the one that was removed for digger access for extension foundations) so was out wrestling with that and some ribbon before I went to work. Ribbon was all I had to hand at 7am!

A lovely welcome home from the dog and he’s just brought me his squeaky ball ( his most very favourite!)

Mushroom thing last night was awful...note to self don’t buy again. So tonight is a pumpkin ( my own) and spinach curry. See how that goes...it seriously cannot be worse than last nights offering.

Have a lovely evening:) it’s time for a hot shower then Jim-Jams
