That is fabulous news and the best of Christmas presents.
Try to buy my elderly neighbour who is the sweetest person a personal card for Christmas. Not only did she send a thank you card, when I saw her I got a great big hug. The smallest things........

Hello. Bedtime! ( hurrah!)
A funny old day ...a kind of went through the motions of Christmas Day and did all the Christmas Day things but I always feel a tad ‘let down’ that it’s not ‘more’ . I know what I mean! Just not the same without my husband . But I have to still be ‘present ‘ for my children.
Anyway! Ho ho ho.
Children bought me the perfume that OH used to buy me...but I couldn’t justify spending that much on myself when it ran out. Had a moment of panic through the night when I thought they’d maybe got the perfume I’d worn on my first date with OH in 1988. Lou-Lou. I reeked. And DD2 had asked last week if they still made it & it occurred to me through the night that maybe she’d sourced it ! So I peeked before they got up. Phew! It wasn’t.
We FaceTimed DD1 as we opened our gifts. I missed her today. But will have her next Christmas.
A ‘where’s Wally?’ type book but ‘Where's Haggis? ‘ ...he’s in there somewhere.
A moment of peace & quiet and a chance to message friends. Then tranquility gone with the arrival of the niecelys! Noise. Chatter. Laughter. Crying baby.
Niece picked up the mother who stayed for 2 hours then took her back.
We had dinner of chicken breast with sage from the garden. Gammon. Roast potatoes ( from leftover baked potatoes from work) parsnips, just I had sprouts. Little sausages which had been Rtc in Lidl the other week & frozen! Tasty but inexpensive!
I’d made a pavlova with Rtc raspberries & strawberries and a rather amazing chocolate orange cheesecake, and niece took the spare one home or I’d have eaten that!
They went home. I sighed with relief and my house is tidy again.
Started watching Call the midwife but dozed on & off with the heat from the fire! Haven’t seen soaps so will catch up tomorrow!
Tomorrow is another day!

I hope everyone has had a lovely day.
Pleasures for today (Christmas Day!)
1) Managed to stay awake long enough to put stockings out!
2) Woken shortly after 8, which isn't too bad.
3) Stocking fillers went down well.
4) Bigger son made the lunch - chicken and many vegetables, pigs in blankets, Yorkshire puddings etc.
5) Hens OK and a bright, sunny day today.
6) Bigger son unveiled his present to smaller son - a refurbished gaming computer! Smaller son still stunned now!
7) Went to mum and dad's for a cup of tea.
8) Bigger son has gone to see his father and smaller son and I have been sitting by the stove, playing on the computer and eating!
9) Fireworks let off by people down the road which were perfectly in line with the glass in our door so we watched those for a while.0 -
1) Santa did me a stocking :-) it had a puzzle book and pen, socks, bamboo toothbrush, blackjacks, lush bath fizz, chocolate orange, satsuma, chocolate money, black jacks and a tube of orange smarties
2) after breakfast (just me up) brisk walks down to church. Lovely service followed by prosecco / nosecco and canap!s
3) happy to accept lift home then took boys for lovely long walk to the nature reserve. Glorious sun slowly slipping behind the hills of fife
4) girls had put the turkey crown on and prepped the veg and mum had arrived by the time I got back. Rest of operation xmas lunch went relatively smoothly. Ds arrived and we unwrapped our pressies
5) then we played a new board game. Mum and I had no idea what was going on. I did try claiming Mornington Crescent but to no avail

Christmas Day
1. Present opening.
2. Alexa timing all operations!
3. Xmas table linen and decorations were surprisingly coordinated in white, gold and silver.
4. Lovely Christmas Dinner with family and friends.....including Swedish visitors! Food was a cooperative venture. DD and I collaborated on our contribution. Served Harvester Carvery style around our new kitchen island.

Christmas Day pleasures,
The clear skies meant a beautiful sunrise.
Smoked salmon for breakfast with HM rye & treacle bread.
The hollow legged ones arrived just as I was prepping the veg for lunch so helped out then a pressie opening session, one of my treats was a one to one Art class, extremely excited for this!
Walked small dog and she loved having four humans to throw the tennis balls for her, she had new ones for Christmas and the fluorescent green made finding them a lot easier.
Home for late lunch, was pleased with the meal.
Games played around the table and much hilarity.
All in all a smashing day.0 -

Good start at the cricket, Anderson is back. Thirst Ball! Slippers are on and feet are up. Now for gooners and PM2DD #UTM
Got to say the salmon and sauce was excellent yesterday. As for the usual xmas pud, homemade and stirred by BoPsie, was magnificent. Slow steamed this year, and then added with some icing sugar and dowsed in Jack Daniels, flamed and served with whisky sauce. It was so moist we ended up having seconds.
Please be aware that if yous follows BoP's xmas pud traditions, it will put a glow on your face!
Just chasing the pennies to pay for the next BoP Tour! Has too be paid the morrow.
Just had another fabuluss Snorker fest for brakefest, and it is now knoiwn as a BoP Breaktest inn the parish.
That is it for the days BoP Bites.
When you look into the mirror, you can only see a reflection of yourself!0 -
Hi Everyone, I do hope everyone had a lovely Christmas even if it was a different or difficult one for some of you.
Fantastic news about Bopsie too.
Christmas Day pleasures.
1. No one woke up until 8.30 and everyone had some lovely thoughtful gifts. My eco friendly gift wrap was well received, and DD1 and 2 are going to do the same next year.
2. Dinner was a huge success and the table looked great, none of us like Christmas pud and were to full after starters and main, so had the dessert about 8pm last night.
3. Christmas film, quizzes and board games. Just a lovely family time.
4. Finally sat down around 9pm with a large G and T
5. Bed and sleep, a real pleasure as I was kn@ckered...
Today’s pleasures
1. Walked the pooches with my daughters and didn’t get to wet.
2. Met DD2s, boyfriends family....lovely people
3. Back home catching up on here and then reading one of my new books
4. Dinner will be quick and easy, cold meats, salad and baby new potatoes....lots of buffet leftovers for snacking left too.
5. I very rarely have a bath (thought I’d better add, I do shower), but tonight I’m looking forward to a soak in the bath with a glass of wine and scented candles.Well Behaved women seldom make history
