vjsmum love putting everything up for Christmas but like it all coming back down before NY. Will keep a few things out that are ‘winters’ rather than Christmassy! And I’m moving the wreath off the front door as I literally can’t see out the front door...it can go out the back on one of the patio doors so it can still be enjoyed!
Need to go and sort out spare room bedding... we have an Australian arriving in a couple of days!0 -
My sister is suffering the after effects of taking painkillers for her pneumonia. Sounds like they strip the lining of your stomach! I bought some paracetemol for smaller son's labour then forgot to take them. Have taken 2 in the 16 years since.
Pleasures for today (Saturday).
1) A lie in.
2) Hens OK.
3) Started the post Christmas tidy up. Cleaned the floors and a couple of windows. Took the Christmas cards down (they were standing on the windowsills, piano etc and kept falling over all the time).
4) My friends from sixth form college and their children came over. Made me feel a bit melancholy (after they had gone) as 3 of our children are now older than we were when we met.
5) Jacket potatoes, beans and cheese for tea.
6) Watched Casualty which was quite shocking.
Another one for yesterday is that, when finding the number of my favourite G and S episode for VJsmum, I realised there was an episode in series three that I had NEVER SEEN!!!!0 -
Good Morning Peeps,
The last Sunday of the year!
Yesterday
1. Cooked breakfast.
2. Dropped DD in town for her shift and continued on to collect some Click and Collect orders, try the mattresses in John Lewis, and stroke the pretty things in H&M Home.Treated ourselves to Posh Coffee and a mince pie in Caffè Nero. (Bogof from their Advent Calendar).
3. LO take away for lunch.
4. Beef Bouginion from the slow cooker for tea. (We only have stew when DS2 is away, as he does not like it :rotfl:
5. An alcohol free evening. I quilted 2 squares of my throw, and we watched the rest of Kirsties Christmas Crafts Programmes until it was time to collect DD.
A busy old day, but nothing to show for it, yet again! ......we always used to have a decorating project between Christmas and New Year. Perhaps I should start tiling the shower.....we have had those tiles for months
Have a lovely day0 -
Saturday pleasures,
Bit of a lie-in after a good night’s sleep so woke up feeling refreshed.
Received a renewal quote for equine girlie’s insurance and it had gone up by £75 with no claims made so hunt is on for new supplier, problem is so few decent companies out there so fishing pond is small.
Talking of whom we went for an in hand walk around the paddocks which mostly consisted of her grazing the verges whilst I leant against her side and watched the wildlife.
Despite all the sleep I still had an afternoon snooze on the sofa.
Easy tea of jacket spuds with cheese.0 -
Pleasures yesterday.
Tried the batch of yoghurt made overnight in slow cooker - yep, that's me sorted for yoghurt for several days.
Sorted out monthly budget for January onwards. Slight shortfall as son moving out and no longer paying board, but an incentive to be frugal whilst still having a life.
Playing chuck the tennis ball with dog in the park.
My home made blackberry whisky, it's growing on me.
Watching the old episodes of Gavin and Stacey (they're on Netflix and BBC Iplayer). My favourite episode? Series 2 episode 1. The Italian restaurant, ladies' cloakroom scene. Script writing at its finest. One life - your life - live it!0 -
Now then again! Yes keep off them brewfun tablets. I had samples taken one bum exam back so and so. The scar was like a volcano, even though it was just one tablet!
PM2DD Ready for the footie. Gooners on the box and keeping up with the mariners. Bring it on! Yous weres correctomondo about the cricket. I think of people who work in the cash store but slightly differing! Complete shambles.
Did shop at the emporium w8rs this very morning. All the biscuits are half price! And theys is nice with me tea!
Got has been sprouts for tea with chilli chicken. Just checked out them meal dishes that they send you. Three packets of spice for a tenner! AVOID

That was just there to test you!0 -
Trip to Aldi yesterday produced their really nice Christmas puds down to £1.99 each with a use by date of April 2021.
Nice coffee at the garden centre this morning followed by a little country drive.
A normal Sunday lunch without anything Christmassy followed by stewed apple and custard, yummy!
Nice walk round the lake this afternoon where the paths have dried off and there is very little mud, met the lovely friendly spotty cat on the way there and stopped to say hello and then met an equally lovely ad friendly bull terrier on the walk.
Watching the rugby on the TV now and having another cup of tea, Mmmmmmmm bliss.0 -
A nice quiet day for us today, I’m really enjoying the break from work.
1. Made some more air freshener and kitchen cleaner, got some new essential oils so I was keen to try out some new ‘recipes’
2. Out for lunch and very nice it was too.
3. Pooches walked, quite a nice day and not cold at all.
4. Home to watch the football....much cussing of VAR by Mr. M so much I made him put £2 in the swear box ( it’s actually just a terramundi where I save £2 coins) but he never twigged we don’t have swear box and coughed up the money.
5. Now relaxing with tea and book.Well Behaved women seldom make history

Day off number one
Up and about early. Taking down more decorations and tidying and pottering around. I do like an early morning potter.
Nice message chat with DD1
Went into town with DD2. She was getting her nails done...this gives me the heeby jeebies so I left her to it.
Nipped down to M & S got an Rtc cake and a bag of crisps! That was all!
Popped into my mothers but had a nice chat with her neighbour ( we had the same builder so we share the same woes! ) given a shopping list!
Home! Hoovered upstairs. I need to go and remake the spare bed as bedding should be dry.
Made sausage rolls from Rtc sausage meat and Rtc puff pastry...served with beans and very tasty they were too.
Son put fire on.
Rtc cake for pudding. Very nice .
Just going to head upstairs I think. I’ve had enough of today. Just find this time of year a bit difficult.0
