Suitably warned about pain killers! Luton has totally lost the plot this season bop and we now languish one place from bottom. so on a happier note
1) Beautiful final service for Provost. Great turn-out, great music, great speech from fellow vestry member.
2) then lovely shared lunch - we decided to have external caterers in and it was lish
3) then my ceilidh band played for dancing and general merriment, finishing of course with auld lang syne and for he's a jolly good fellow

Pleasures for today (possibly Sunday, but who knows!)
1) A lie in.
2) Hens OK.
3) A quick trip to Sainsburys so now have milk to go in our tea! Village shop has been shut since the 24th.
4) Saw bigger son on his bike outside Sainsburys and got introduced to his friend who has a magnificent head of red hair.
5) Made more leek and potato soup - some for lunch tomorrow and lots for the freezer.
6) Wraps for tea.
7) Enjoyed Top Gear. Bigger son has been to Kathmandu and to Pokhara. He lived midway between Pokhara and where the Top Gear team got to in the end.0 -
Good Morning,
Frith The scenery in Napal was spectacular! Unfortunately, I seem to have had a little nap just after they left Kathmandu, and I missed most of the journeyI will have to watch it again.
Nargleblast you have reminded me, that I have not seen the yoghurt makers since we moved the kitchen. I may have to venture into the cellar to rescue them
Yesterday
1. Did not venture to the shops, except for a quick zip to the Coop to use up 2 coupons due to expire.
2. More stuff on the Bay and bin bag sized bag dropped at the CS.
3. Collected DD and her friend from the pub, so they did not have to spend money on a taxi.
4. Another takeaway Indian, but at a friends house. What we ordered was far too big, so brought it home. It was immediately bagged by DS2 for his tea.
5. The mattresses has been turned and aired, and new bedclothes put on.......best nights sleep for ages :j
Have a lovely day0 -
Sunday pleasures,
Up early so small dog cuddles and got to see the beautiful sunrise.
Did a freezer inventory and have the makings of 17 meals tucked away, have a largish bill coming in Jan so good to know.
A cookbook I’ve been after was half price at WStones and with my card full that meant another tenner off, small NY pressie to myself.
We didn’t fancy a full roast dinner so had snorkers in crusty baguettes.
Eldest DSS came round to watch the footie and went home with a mini food parcel including some freshly baked bread.
Worrying pictures coming in from Oz on the news Mhags hope all your family & friends are safe x0 -
lainey I had a frantic call about 4.30 am from a very frantic DD1. There’s a fire still going near where we lived and she’s one suburb along, she was terrified. I was trying to be brave enough for us both whilst feeling slightly terrified myself.
She gathered up her important bits ( most of her dad mementos) and her friend who was until recently her house mate picked her up and they’re staying at housemates new place in the city.
It’s truly awful0 -

Scooped BoPsie up from her work at lunch and herded out for snackle lunch inn the Bridge. Tasty, but note special.
Got the reversion foods inn for NYE. Proper reversions of mini Kiev's, scampi and pizza! Wobbleades has bean sourced.
Watched BBL: this morning and it was off on on off all the time. Nows watching the banga version. Proper slog it!
PM2DD We is on a draw and a draw. At least we is scoring nowadays! I see Mr Holloway has …
I cannot reference you all, but …
Another wicket has fallen on the year ...0 -

1. Great services over last week. Then, lovely Vicarage crimbo, munch, vin - and then we won all The Board Games. Yippee:-)))
2. Another unexpected lunch elsewhere hier.
Took pink champagne - lovely - lost every single board game, spectacularly!!!
3. Post-crimbo festive night match at rugby club was glorious. So many turned up, 27th, loads of players, watchers. Such fun and all of us mindful of having been there just one week previous, for the wake of x, one of our young rugby mums. She had a great and strong faith, a fast pernicious cancer, husband, young son. The ancient church overflowed, the heavens wept, as did we, mixed with much laughter. Her instructions were explicit and obeyed: 'fizz the night away, big loud badass woman/friends/family dancing and singing'. X had been a commissioning editor for Penguin, among much else.
4. Took self to Little Women. Loved it, although Old Lady ?: Are all cinemas so belting loud nowadays?
5. Phone call from the young man met 6 months ago, now at Berklee(post passim):

He has had 100% in all exams this first term. Helping a bit weekly and to get him back in time for new term.
