  • Evening folks. Pleasures for today.

    1. Took DD3 to hit the sales, smiles all round as she used some of her Christmas money to pick a few items of new clothing she was after.

    2. All our for a family lunch...a break from cooking for me too.

    3. Home and watched Cider with Rosie, such stunning scenery

    4. Pooches walked, now settled in front of the fire snoring gently

    5. The family settled to watch the football, fingers crossed that my little cubs win. No doubt there will be Wolves songs belted out several times in the next couple of hours.

    Pleasures today.

Lazed in bed till around 1300 - I was on night shift last night.

Trip to local Co-op and picked up reduced price goodies, vegetables, chicken, steak, sourdough loaf, garlic baguettes.

Batch of yoghurt on the go in the slow cooker, I had loads of milk that needed using up. Yoghurt makes a quick and healthy breakfast served with fruit for those days when I can't be arrised to make porridge.

Healthy dinner of stirfried chicken with kale, cashew nuts and cranberries.
Not so healthy treat later this evening - three slices of the sourdough loaf I bought, covered in butter.

Watching again the episodes of Gavin and Stacey on Netflix. VJsmum, there are three series for you to watch, an absolute treat, and they make sense of the Christmas Day episode, which is ten years on from the last one. Watch them, you're in for a treat.

Seeing senior cat and kitten playing Chase Me Round The Living Room.

VJsmum - wait until you get to series 2, episode 5. Possibly my favourite episode of any programme ever!

    Pleasures for today (?Friday)

    1) A lie in.

    2) Leek and potato soup for lunch. Used more YS vegetables in J Oliver's veg chilli - 3 portions for tomorrow and 2x3 portions in bags in the freezer. Bigger son used the YS pork to make sweet and sour pork for tea.

    3) Hens OK. Very misty and dull on the way to see them.

    4) Had a bit of a vague tidy up and did a load of washing.

    5) My brother popped round briefly.

    6) Bigger son went to our local (5 miles away) pub with his friends.

My college friend is coming round tomorrow.

    Good Morning Folks,

Funny old day yesterday......seemed to be busy, but nothing achieved.

    1. Woke early, but lounged around.

    2. Dog into the shower, so less smelly. :rotfl:

    3. Spanish omelet made from leftovers. Interrupted by DD who was worried about her bike.......unfortunately she was already half way to where she was meeting her friend.DH had to drive over to check the bike. It was fine, just different to her previous bike......Spanish omelet was non the worse for the delay. Yum.

    4. Decluttering.....more EBaying has produced 2 more bags for the CS. We tried to drop them off at a CS, but they are not taking donations until today. Also returned 6 chairs to friends house and stayed for a cup of tea. :)

    5. Half price Takeaway Indian meal, Delivered for me, DH and DD, courtesy of a promo code. :j

    Have a lovely day :)

Intrigued by sound of military equine tack collection DFV!
    Dirty stop out DD ;)

    Friday pleasures,

Last of the smoked salmon with bagels for breakfast.

Sorted out the fridge and numerous bits popped into freezer in prep for a frugal Jan.

Went to see girlie, our mate the robin sorted through my grooming kit whilst I was giving her a good brush. There was a shoot going on in nearby fields but apart from occasional stare over towards that way my mare was chilled about it all. Go back 18months and she would have been throwing a hissy fit, made me realise how far she has come.

Coming up the main drive to home and a buzzard was sat on the grass, around 10 feet away from my car.

Started new book, Trio by Sue Gee and hooked already.

Dismantling already Mhags? Mine will probably stay for another week.. I usually have to get to a point when I realise how ridiculous it is to have a fake tree in your lounge covered in nick nacks and lights :rotfl:.

    Pleasures for yesterday

    1. SIL is going to help me edit my thesis... Fingers crossed she comes good. :j In return, after submission I will help her kondo her house, I am very good at getting rid of other people's stuff
    2. Left over gammon, mash and peas for lunch followed by yet more sticky toffee
    3. Watching tv with my boy
    4. SiL and children left....:p
    5. DD is going to see her bestest friend on NYE. THey used to share a flat but see very little of each other now.

I am properly back to work today - did some yesterday but more concentrated today... have a bit of a deadline to hit for yet another dismantled and remantled ;) chapter
I wanna be in the room where it happens

  • Evening folks, a quiet day for me visiting family left and just me and Mr M until Monday, when the house starts to fill again for New Year celebrations.

    Pleasures for today.

    1. Wash baskets emptied, spare room bedding changed again.

    2. Put my pressies away and sorted out wardrobe, had a general clean and tidy now the house is back to normal.

    3. This afternoon, I went into couch potato mode and had a little nana nap.

    4. Needed some new day and night moisturiser, ordered online and got 15% off, so pleased about that as the brand I use is quite pricey.

    5. Sat here now making use of Santa’s gifts, new candles burning, new book about to be read, new slippers on, new earrings in and smelling fab courtesy of Jo Malone.
