Monday pleasures,
Shopping first thing and emporium was blissfully quiet, maybe not next week....
Over to see princess pony, we are gradually winding down work wise before a break during January, always give my horses at least a month off once a year. So just a pamper and lots of attention.
A buzzard flying in front of my car and settling on a branch next to the road, such impressive birds.
Obviously still without an oven so simple tea of stir fry veg & rice, fingers crossed electrician is coming today.
Watched Uni Challenge and then read my book.0 -
Yes, I am still inn the mill. Actually, at the wheelhouse today! This is where it turns!
Now onto your version of the Life of BoP.
According to BoPsie I was chuntering inn mes sleep last night and she wanted to know about what? I has no idea as I cannot remember chuntering me self!
Usual lunch box again and it is good to has the three proper digestives.
Car had its Engine Light come on and we need a new cat. That’s BoPsie xmas present gone inn the wind.
The sat has givens me a free film. No I don’t want to see Love Actually. Not interested. I want a film like Green Book or The Art of Racing in the Rain. Nows I tells yous lot now, that the film, The Art of racing in the Rain will win an Oscar.
Got the wobbleade and whine inn for xmas last nite at the emporium. BoPsie was over joyed that the Jack of Daniels honey was on offer. I did not dig intos mes pocket to buy any, she has some at home, or at least I thinks she has!
Now onto the persecution of females in the UK. There is talk of the decriminalisation of the regressive TV Tax. Please do not fall for it!
I have written here and elsewhere that this is a crime that penalises females, most of whom are bringing up a family or alone at home when these uninvited Tax Collectors turn up at the door. As this is a criminal offence, these tax Collectors have to gather evidence of an offence being committed and do this by persuading the lone female into signing a confession under duress while not being advised of any rights. If the Tax Collector does turn up, you do not have to say anything to them at all. Full stop.
If this is decriminalised, this protection of where the Tax Collector has to get evidence is removed, and this becomes a debt that is handled in the County Court. This then replaces these Tax Collectors and the magistrate evidential approach to that of a simple judgement of a debt and the unleashing of a Bailiff to extract the so called debt, from same persecuted female.
Time now to end this unfair and regressive TV Tax?
Don’t fall for their trap!0 -

Hello.
Lazy day.
Went out for lunch with DD2 to one of our local castles. Mouth all shaped for one of their lovely burgers. We have afternoon tea available ( needs booked a day in advance but someone had cancelled) ...don’t mind if I do! Little finger sandwiches, a goats cheese and onion quiche, a scone with jam and cream. A little chocolate mousse. A mince pie. A tiny rhubarb tart. A piece of red velvet DD2 ate and a something or other I’d one bite of and wished I hadn’t. With two pots of peppermint tea and as it was unlimited DD had 2 pots of normal tea! Absolutely but delightedly stuffed.
Then we asked where the highland cows were kept. And it was far far away but if you just wait...then the castle owner popped out and said she was just going to feed them and did we want to come? Oh yes please. So it was all rather thrilling!
Then home. And badly lit a fire. I’m rather rubbish at it! Son has just got in from work and given his diagnosis!
But I snuggled on the sofa with my dog!0 -
Woke still fuming about the email a colleague sent one of my phd students. The student was good enough (and wise enough!) to copy me and the other supervisor in. I wrote a very angry email which has helped then other supervisor took the heat out of it. i have now replied calmly and professionally. no response as yet...

Pleasures for today (Tuesday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Messages from bigger son in Cyprus who has been swimming and they were not allowed to hire a car. Well done, sensible Cypriot car hire company!
3) No movement whatsoever on smaller son's college/education. Emailed the person who is supposed to be assessing him again. Emailed college and they copied me in to their rather firm email, pointing out they had referred smaller son well before half term... still nothing, though!
4) Car was taken away on a trailer and will cost £175 to fix. So on slim pickings for a week. Could have been worse. Hopefully it will be fixed by the end of tomorrow. We've had a very quiet few days!
5) Hens OK.
6) Made 5 jars of lemon curd for Christmas presents. Will make another batch tomorrow.
7) Various messages from sister, still very poorly with pneumonia. If my car is fixed, I will go over tomorrow afternoon to look after niece for a bit.
8) Been in bed with a hwb watching television.0 -
1. A colleague has become a grandmother. She is very happy.
2. Chat with a colleague on the bus. She is lovely but I don't see her often.
3. I found a place for shoes in cupboards. Not sure how long the hall will stay shoe free.
4. Shepherds pie for tea.
5. A glass of wine much needed.0 -
Tuesday pleasures,
Filled up car at the garage with a Mr Sparks outlet and a box of their cherry liqueurs just jumped into my hand and are now stashed in the cupboard, naughty chocs.
Saw our lovely postlady and she mentioned she’s off next week so note made to leave her little pressie out, she’s fab and the only one whose ever delivered to us on a weekend.
The electrician turned up and fixed oven :j I celebrated by baking bread and making mincemeat flapjacks.
It was a foul afternoon weather wise so snuggled down with small dog and watched Elizabeth is Missing.
One of our yearly rituals, taking our emporium vouchers and choosing a few goodies.
We were going to treat ourselves to a curry but our fav restaurant was booked solid with festive revellers so we went to the fish shop instead, I plumped for a Halloumi wrap which was mahoosive but very tasty.0 -
Now as you know when I stepped out of the flying hopper this very morning. I see that some of the educationalists has made life misery for others yet again! You knows what the response of the BoP is don’ts yous! Put them inn a room with three chairs and the others, Social Workers, Humane Remains and the Software types. Don’t feed them and no one will be sat on a chair!
Now onto you proper BoP bites for the day!
Had to remind BoPsie it was her day to do the lunch box for BoP, as she has day off! Don’ts wants BoP to starve! Has only three proper digestives this day as well! Boo Hoo.
I hear there be talk about something on Santa! Don’t touch as it really is clickbait for a rag.
Looking forward to & next short missive on her long post lost in the ether!
I hear that a new Thomas Crapper has been designed to alleviate the queue in the Ladies! It has a sloping seat! I prefer of curse, the wall!
Cloth being deleivered to up Norff customer, just inn time for xmas.
