Bala, for coupons, if you sign up to the mse newsletter, it gives a heads up as to when the vouchers will be printed and which paper, if it’s a fee paper or Mirror / express etc.
1 We travelled to MIL yesterday via backroads to avoid going through Christmas packed town centres and it was a long lovely drive.
2 A nice time with them, and DH’s DB and his wife visited to talk for a few hours.
3 Didn’t get home and to bed until about 4am, long journey and the animals needed some time.
4 All the Christmas shopping is done.
5 Just used up crab for tonights food and now relaxing.0 -

Staring to feel festive and even felt like putting the tree up today, but much to Mr. M's relief decided to leave it until next weekend. We are away next weekend staying with DD1 and while we are away the decorators are in painting the kitchen and living room....so shall put the tree up on our return .
Anyway as I was feeling festive, today's pleasures.
1. Made everyone's personalised Christmas cracker, wrote a silly joke for each one and put in a small gift I know they will like.
2. Picked up some new champagne flutes and gin glasses....65% off, so a bargain.
3. Finished wrapping the Christmas pressies, all bought and done now. Trying to reduce plastic and waste, so decorated brown paper and tied with twine, shall attach some festive sprigs nearer the time. They look so pretty, I'm not normally very arty so feeling quite proud of myself
4. Slow cooked lamb shanks for dinner, one of my faves.
5. Sorted out a few bits for the charity bin at work and now sat with a cuppa, 2 pooches snuggled up next to me watching a bit of TV and browsing on hereWell Behaved women seldom make history
Early retirement goal... 2026

Pleasures for today (in brief, as I’m using my phone)
1) Up and out and arrived in a frozen Wolverhampton not long after 9. (So we didn’t have to change trains).
2) Appalling train journey crammed in the vestibule, standing with ?15 others. Pleasure was everyone was nice so kept giving updates to those in
the middle of the crush who couldn’t see out of the windows.
3) Bus up to Old Trafford ok.
4) Good match v Aston Villa (hence train).
5) Got fed up of waiting for the 73,000 crowd to disperse so walked back to the city centre. Only took about 45mins so will walk in future.
6) Walked to little Tesco for milk and realised part of the Christmas market was right there! So had a hot dog, pancakes etc. Better atmosphere than Birmingham’s market.
7) Back to hotel (right by the Britons Protection, DD).
8) Watched I’m a celebrity and MOTD!0 -
frithwhen you bring your outdoor tree inside do you ever get bugs? I’m considering bringing in the potted tree as it’s lovely but a bit concerned about beasties all over the place.
Bala Lidl was a sponsor at an event DD2 was working at and were handing out the vouchers.
Well it’s Monday morning and the very heavy frost has been replaced by warmer weather (3o) so it’s all gone! It was so cold last night.
The baby does not yet sleep through the night so we had a 1.30am feed. Waaah! ( me not him)
The Elves on Great Aunties shelves arrived. Oh no! Three of them. Waaah ( me not them)
Pancake making with a dog and a baby underfoot) Waaah ( me not them)
Huge big walk ( though some drove!) to the woods. Lovely walk round and we hung a little blue bauble on OH tree. Huge walk back ( waaaah to my hips)
Made pumpkin soup whilst baby slept and he enjoyed that for lunch. Son had it for his tea. Friend popped in later so I gave her five bags from the freezer as I still have two pumpkins left to use.
Between DD2 and I we managed to always watch the very mobile baby...I’m so out of practice! GN finished writing her Christmas cards and then once it was dark we went out and delivered a few of mine. Had just popped one through our friends door when they opened it so we popped in for 5 minutes and GN ended up walking back with a brand new to her winter coat that didn’t fit friends daughter!
Dinner was lasagne, roast potatoes (using up leftover baked potatoes from work) and cauliflower cheese. Cauliflower has been lurking in fridge for ages. Friend called ...are you busy I was going to pop in. So she ended up having dinner too which was nice and she helped me wash dishes later.
Peace was restored. It’s a beautiful sound! Lovely to have the kids but oh so lovely to say cheerio. They were going back to their new home.
Friend was in for a couple of hours and we had a good catch up. She helped empty my freezer ( slightly) and took a bottle of fizz away that I’d won for a raffle she’s doing!
Dog was happy to just be us again!0 -
Sunday pleasures,
Up early but not too, small dog cuddles whilst drinking tea and reading my book, pretty good start to any day.
Yellow Hammers under the apple tree picking up discarded seeds, such pretty little birds.
First day of winter so door wreath changed and autumnal decs removed from mantelpiece to be replaced with Yule ones.
Roast chicken with all trimmings followed by much lounging around and trying to avoid small dog’s eyes until we finally succumbed and took her for a walk around the fields.
Again small dog, this time with last mooch around the garden before bed, steamy breath cold but the sky was clear and stars out.0 -
Frith a Villain! Mes outlaws are Villains
Only a few days until another BoP Tour! Details on the parish notice bored.
Did odds and jobs over the weakened, put up yard lights, fixed leak on car, repaired outside lamp. Put new bog seats onto the Thomas Crapper! Had to give it brute force and get me nut knurdlers out.
Was inn the gym yesterday morn, then off to the emporium. I get a coupon for mes Sunday paper and the w8rs thing gives me money offs me shop as well. Better in my pocket than the partners!
Had double snorkers and best back yesterday as we had defrosted the refrigerator as well. Nice and tasty, then had BoP brunch for tea!
Now the mill lunch box has extra treat today, a piece of cake. Usuals and three proper digestives.
That is all for lunch bites.
Soon your travels will be0
